Helpful teamwork

Pros

It is a user friendly project management platform that's simple to use. It works well for collaboration, supports teamwork nicely and comes with useful features like the calendar, dashboard and deadline tracking.

Cons

The mobile app feels a bit limited in what it can do. The free version also only gives 100MB of storage which is restrictive and features like tracking, exporting and a few others still have room for improvement.

Top project tracking done right

Pros

Keeping projects on schedule is much easier with this tool. It becomes even more valuable when every team across the organization is actively using it.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve at the start. It's not the most user friendly platform so new users usually need some onboarding time and have to spend a while getting familiar with everything.

Task tracking that keeps projects moving

Pros

Juggling several projects at once makes reliable task tracking a must and this has been really helpful for me and my team. It keeps our daily tasks and project progress organized so nothing gets overlooked or ends up delaying the work. The Gmail integration is also a big plus since it helps me manage multiple Gmail accounts much more conveniently.

Cons

Customization is fairly limited on the board. Aside from changing label colors or the dashboard color, there is not much flexibility and layout properties cannot really be modified.

Clean task management workflow

Pros

One thing that really makes Asana stand out is its clean, to-do-list style approach to handling tasks within each project. You can assign either an entire project or just a specific task to other users and team members which makes collaboration very practical. It's also really helpful that tasks can be broken down into smaller subtasks making them simpler to manage and much better for tracking progress along the way.

Cons

At the same time it competes closely with Trello which offers a very similar toolset. Trello's card-based layout is especially useful when you want a quick glance at everything in the pipeline and it does a nice job of helping manage task queues. Moving tasks from one card to another is also very convenient. On top of that it still seems limited when it comes to cost and time tracking especially for things like wage-related calculations.

Team visibility

Pros

Well the thing that really helps is the visibility it gives the whole team. It makes it simple to follow all your tasks and get notifications whenever someone else finishes their part of the work.

Cons

It would be even better if there were a dedicated app instead of only an online version. Since I do not open it every day, I sometimes end up missing tasks.

Flexible task cards

Pros

The range of task card customization options is really useful and tagging tasks or adding team members to cards are the features I enjoy most.

Cons

Quite a few important features feel restricted. The interface was confusing for me At first and it was also frustrating that completed tasks disappeared from the list. I'd rather have them stay visible in a separate section right next to the active tasks.

Collaboration that fits remote teams

Pros

Asana works really well for collaboration because our team can chat, leave feedback and make edits on projects together in one place. It has been especially helpful for working across different time zones with a fully remote team since everyone can check project updates whenever it suits them. The mobile app is also a big plus and I appreciate that it lets you set a period with no notifications.

Cons

One area that could be better is the task project section. I'd love a simpler way to rearrange things there so it feels more like a to-do list or daily planner.

keeps teams aligned

Pros

Across several jobs it has consistently been quick to set up and simple to roll out company-wide. I keep projects from different departments in one place and even brand-new team members with no prior experience are usually able to learn it fast and stay on top of their work.

Cons

There are probably a lot more features I could be using since it feels like I'm only scratching the surface of what the platform can do. One thing I'd really like is a stronger template library so I could browse project templates and duplicate them instead of creating everything from scratch.

all in one teamwork hub

Pros

Between the file sharing and collaboration tools, managing projects and staying in touch with the team can all happen in one place which makes the whole workflow much more convenient.

Cons

Getting a clear overview of how successful completed tasks were and tracking due dates inside it can be difficult. The only real way to see that is by exporting the project or using an advanced search report.

Powerful task organization

Pros

Keeping tasks and assets organized with it has been a big help and sharing everything with teammates is very easy. A task can be assigned to me and I instantly get a notification with all the details in one place, including text, images, links and anything else I need to get started.

Cons

At times it can feel a bit overwhelming because it is capable of so much that I know I probably won't ever fully grasp everything it can do.

Clear workflow

Pros

The board layout is really well designed and everything feels clear when using it. Even though it comes with plenty of features and options, the interface never feels visually overwhelming the way some other project management tools do.

Cons

Well it's possible to lose track of boards or end up in tasks that weren't organized properly. That said this usually comes down to how the user categorized things rather than an issue with the software itself.

Too much for a small team

Pros

Plenty of features are included but for our small team, most of them were more than we actually needed.

Cons

We ultimately chose a competitor mainly because of the interface. Since our team is small and doesn't need all the extra functionality, the UI didn't feel user friendly or like the best fit. Other tools simply offered a much better user experience.

Handy file sharing

Pros

One thing that's really useful is being able to attach files directly inside a project instead of having to rely on a separate third-party storage link. It makes reviewing everything much more convenient because the feedback stays right there with that part of the project and in the context of everything else.

Cons

The interface could look a bit better and use screen space a little better but honestly thats a pretty small issue.

Top clear project visibility

Pros

It's very easy to use and the overall view of projects that are currently in progress is something I really like.

Cons

One thing I wasn't happy with is that when you're using it as a solo user, like I was at the beginning, you don't get access to important features such as the timeline.

Decent free tools, limited flexibility

Pros

Asana works well for companies trying to keep costs down especially if paying for project management software isn't really an option. The free version includes all the basic project management features a small business would need so it can be a good fit for teams working with a limited budget.

Cons

It didn't offer enough customization for what my business needed and the interface felt a bit too crowded. On top of that the additional features in the paid plan didn't seem valuable enough to justify the price.

Powerful collaboration hub

Pros

When Asana clicks and your clients and freelancers are fully using it too, it feels a lot like having a private social network built specifically to keep projects moving fast and clients satisfied. It performs really well and when everyone is aligned inside the platform, the whole experience feels rewarding. The mobile app is also a nice bonus.

Cons

It definitely is not lightweight software. A lot of its strength comes with added complexity. There's a learning curve and you'll probably spend an hour or two going through the help docs to get comfortable. After stepping away from it for a while, you may need to relearn parts of it again. It's not especially user friendly but that's part of the tradeoff for having so much functionality. Because of that getting freelancers and clients to actually adopt it can be a bit of a challenge. If you have a team of around 2 to 4 or more employees, the advantages usually outweigh the drawbacks. But if most of your delegation goes to freelancers, you may prefer something that feels less intimidating.

transformed our workflow

Pros

Once we needed a better way to manage projects and work with contractors, it quickly became the right fit. Getting it set up was fast and having separate projects for different types of work keeps everything organized. Creating tasks is simple and it's very convenient to check the status of each one at a glance. It has made a huge difference in how we handle our daily work. The built-in templates are another big plus especially for teams like marketing, sales and engineering since they give you a good starting point instead of building everything from scratch.

Cons

there's very little to complain about. I haven't run into any real problems while using the platform. The only part that can be a bit frustrating is the billing side since it can get confusing at times when adding new team members.

Helpful task breakdown

Pros

Being able to break a project down into smaller and smaller details is really useful. The side checklist that can be saved is a feature I appreciated a lot and it was also nice to see when coworkers were online.

Cons

At times I run into problems when trying to mark tasks as complete and occasionally something another person did ended up affecting my own work routes.

Fast shortcuts

Pros

Asana stands out because of its user experience. The interface feels carefully designed and the keyboard shortcuts are especially useful. Moving through tasks is quick and natural, almost like working inside a text document.

Cons

Pricing is the real downside. It is on the expensive side and it also doesn't provide a plan for solo users. Even though the Premium plan is advertised at $10.99 per month, a one-person team actually ends up paying $22.98 per month.

Flexible task organization

Pros

One of the best parts is how freely I can arrange my tasks however it works best for me. Being able to add sections, tags and similar tools helps me stay organized and keep up with everything day by day.

Cons

The inbox could be a bit more user friendly. I'm not a big fan of the current design and it makes it too easy to overlook when someone tags me in a comment.
