Best for team collaboration

Pros

As our team kept growing, we needed a platform that would let everyone collaborate well while still handling their own separate tasks. For full-team collaboration, this has been the best option for us.

Cons

One thing I still wish it had is a built-in metrics, analytics or tracking feature especially for recording things like social media growth. It's possible I just haven't figured it out yet but I haven't been able to find that functionality.

Friendly task tracking view

Pros

Task visualization is really helpful for staying on top of everything and the interface is friendly and easy to use.

Cons

You have to pay to unlock the full set of features and once you do, the functionality still doesn't quite feel aligned with the pricing.

Easy setup

Pros

Getting a project template and timing baseline up and running in it takes very little effort even without relying on the tutorials they provide. The layout is also easy to move around in and I really like how well it integrates with Instagantt.

Cons

That said I still think Instagantt's timeline view is easier to navigate and make changes to than the built-in version even though Instagantt does not have as good a user interface or a mobile app.

Simple but too limited

Pros

It was affordable, simple and user friendly which made it nice to work with at a basic level. Still it just didn't include all the features we needed for tracking task stages properly and collaborating with the team the way we wanted.

Cons

The feature set felt pretty limited overall. It didn't offer the level of detail we needed and we were hoping for a universal system that could handle several different purposes but it wasn't able to cover that.

user friendly platform

Pros

The tool is simple and it integrates really well with other tools we use like Microsoft Teams. The mobile app works really well too and is very similar to the website which makes it convenient to use anywhere. The training options, from beginner lessons to more in-depth sessions, are detailed and simple for staff to follow and learn from.

Cons

It has a lot of depth and the part I like least is that I still do not know everything it is capable of doing.

Fantastic for team task management

Pros

Keeping track of my team's tasks has been much better with this. It's simple, efficient and very user friendly and I definitely plan to keep using it.

Cons

I do wish it offered more customization. There are times when I want to organize different projects in different ways and that's still a bit difficult to do.

Helpful task tracking

Pros

One thing that really works well is how simple it is to assign tasks and follow their progress along the way. That makes it genuinely useful for staying on top of work.

Cons

At the same time it's pretty complicated to fully understand and use to its maximum potential. The learning curve is definitely not something you pick up right away.

great features for bigger teams

Pros

Compared with monday and Trello, I'd choose this because its advanced features fit my needs better. For simple projects though, it probably wouldn't add much value and may be more than necessary.

Cons

The only downside for me is the price. That said when a larger company has a lot of people using it, the cost feels justified. For smaller teams that have outgrown the free plan, another tool might make more sense.

Powerful task control

Pros

Asana completely changed how we handle tasks and projects. What makes it stand out is how detailed and flexible task creation can be. You can begin by simply typing a task name, then choose what extra information to add and at what point. It feels frictionless the whole way through and you stay fully in control of the setup. Just hitting the Enter key creates the next task instantly and you can keep going like that. Once you start adding more details like assignees, due dates, custom fields and other elements, that basic task list turns into a very capable task management system.

Cons

That said once you and your team grow into better task management habits, the limitations start to show. The demand for more advanced functionality becomes frustrating especially around reporting, built-in time tracking and other features that competing apps already include at the same price. Users have complained heavily in the Asana Community, particularly after the dashboard feature was removed and Portfolio was introduced instead. The dashboard clearly needed improvement but the replacement came locked behind a plan that costs double per user through the Business Plan. A lot of paying customers, me included, started losing trust at that point. The discussion about it became one of the most commented threads in the Asana Community forum yet even after more than a year, customers have mostly received canned responses. Another frequent complaint comes from hundreds of paying users asking for the removal of the very distracting colorful banner pushing an upgrade to the Business Plan. Everyone on the team sees it and even as a paying customer, there is no option to hide it.

Task tracking that keeps me on top

Pros

Keeping up with my part of team projects is much more manageable with Asana. It gives me a clear view of my own assignments so I always know what needs to be done and can stay on track to hit deadlines.

Cons

One thing I'd still want is the option to move tasks around in my lists according to their deadlines.

feature rich tool

Pros

Asana provides a highly compatible, feature packed platform for team collaboration. It makes it simple to assign work, develop projects and see them through to completion while keeping notes and all the smaller project details well organized. Because of that, teams and organizations can work more efficiently, with everyone able to log in, collaborate effectively and move projects forward in a way that adds more value and purpose.

Cons

Even though the platform has worked well for me Overall getting everyone fully onboard with using it can sometimes be difficult. When people are not actively engaged with the platform or the projects themselves, their enthusiasm for using it can fade pretty quickly although stronger project planning and management could probably help address that.

Task tracking that delivers

Pros

At first glance especially on the Windows app, it comes across like a sticky notes clone. Once you actually use it though, it turns into a very user friendly task tracker and to-do list tool with a lot more power behind it. The Android app has an absolutely modern interface. You can create tasks, assign them to other people or even to yourself and set deadlines and milestones without any hassle. It works really well for helping teams stay focused and hit a few defined goals. One small feature I really like is being able to add notes so everyone can see your progress even when the task itself is still unfinished. That's especially useful when you run into a blocker and need teammates to be patient while you sort things out.

Cons

The Windows app still seems like it could use more work when it comes to overall user experience. It wasn't bad the last time I used it but the drop in quality is pretty noticeable when moving from the mobile version to the desktop one.

Pros

The interface is modern and user friendly which makes the platform pleasant to work in.

Cons

A few features felt confusing to me and we regularly ran into communication issues around notifications, alerts and how updates were shared between people.

Powerful task tracking

Pros

Asana has been really useful for tracking tasks, assigning and reassigning work and keeping everything organized across both individual users and team groups.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve At first although the training videos do help. I am also still not sure whether there's a bulk edit option for similar tasks so they can all be updated at once. On the topic of the videos, one presenter included their personal opinion about a specific group and I'd much rather the content stay focused on the product and keep the background clean and professional.

Clean and simple interface

Pros

Everything I need is built in and the layout makes features simple to locate. It doesn't take long to get comfortable with it and the interface is clear and simple too. It really seems like the Apple of project management tools.

Cons

There's still plenty of room for stronger AI capabilities in the platform although I know the company is already developing some of that. Because the software is so versatile organizing projects can sometimes get a little tricky and that's usually when extra guidance or support becomes useful.

Better teamwork

Pros

After trying several tools in this space from Jira and Trello to Basecamp this one has become a clear favorite. The interface is very user friendly and they keep rolling out new features that help my team communicate more effectively.

Cons

From a programmer's perspective, usability is the biggest thing that matters and this platform absolutely delivers on that. If I had to point out one downside, it would only be the number of notifications turned on by default and that's really just nitpicking.

Quick setup for project tracking

Pros

It is a simple tool so using it didn't take much effort. Plus it helped us manage projects quickly and keep things moving.

Cons

That said it felt limited in terms of features and flexibility. Over time, we ended up choosing a competitor that was a better long-term fit.

Top task tracking that delivers

Pros

Keeping everything organized is much simpler with it and assigning tasks to coworkers is quick and easy too. Also it has made managing projects and getting tasks completed a lot easier overall. I'd definitely recommend it.

Cons

I don't have many complaints. There were a few times when updates didn't sync right away so my coworkers couldn't immediately see the changes. Aside from that it's been a really great product overall.

Recurring tasks that actually work

Pros

Using this on my own has been really easy for managing tasks. I also enjoy being able to customize the background which adds a nice personal touch. One feature that really matters to me and that a lot of other tools seem to miss, is true recurring tasks, like setting something to repeat every certain number of weeks.

Cons

When it comes to team use though, it doesn't perform nearly as well. It's also not especially attractive visually. My team ran into problems during implementation because it didn't feel all that user friendly for a larger group.

Pros

Getting it up and running across multiple departments was easy and users had no trouble setting up their own profiles.
