Flexible task tracking

Pros

Adding tasks and assigning them to team members is easy. A single project can be split into smaller parts and tasks can be updated as work moves along.

Cons

To me the layout doesn't seem very professional. I'd also say the interface can be a little confusing at times.

keeps our banquet work organized

Pros

Across our organization, Asana has been incredibly useful for separating tasks by different departments while still letting multiple teams work in the same app for completely different responsibilities. We use it to manage our Banquet Hall operations, including bookings, leads, food selections and decor choices and it has honestly been a huge help.

Cons

The mobile app feels slower than the web version and tends to use a lot of data. It would be much better if images loaded faster inside the app.

Task subtrees boost teamwork

Pros

Task subtrees are a big advantage especially for coordinating across different teams and managing customer onboarding steps more clearly.

Cons

I don't have any complaints. Since it's a web-based service, it's really helped different departments communicate better and keep track of what each team is working on at any given time.

Excellent feature-packed

Pros

It strikes a rare balance between being incredibly user friendly and still offering a full set of features. Most software tends to lean heavily in one direction or the other so having both in one platform really feels like an accomplishment.

Cons

One thing that can get tricky is how deeply tasks can be nested within other tasks since that can sometimes make things harder to keep track of. Still, I'd much rather have that capability than lose it altogether and I am not really sure there's a perfect fix for it.

Accessible for every teammate

Pros

The tool is very approachable for a wide range of team members even for people who aren't especially technical.

Cons

Recurring tasks could use a bit more AI behind them. There are times when you want tasks to repeat in more customized or unique ways and that's not always possible.

provides workload visibility

Pros

One thing I really like is how clearly Asana lets me see my workload by date and time and break it down by project. It also works really well for bringing coworkers in, assigning tasks and keeping up with everyone's progress at a glance.

Cons

The lost connection notifications are definitely frustrating. Several times during the day, I end up having to refresh the tab because otherwise I am not able to update tasks.

perfect for team collaboration

Pros

This product was easy to set up and run and using it day to day has been just as simple. One thing I really like is being able to add outside users to different groups without much trouble which helps keep everyone on the same page about project milestones, deliverables and any issues that come up.

Cons

At the beginning exporting data was a bit frustrating because I had trouble getting it into a format I could easily work with in Excel or other tools.

Excellent for team tracking

Pros

Keeping track of team progress and collaboration is not a problem with this software. It does a really good job of helping everyone stay aligned and on track.

Cons

My only complaint is that the mobile app doesn't measure up to the desktop version.

Powerful planning tool

Pros

It was easy to set up and getting new users started has not been hard at all. The interface looks nice and seems simple to use and they keep adding new features on a regular basis. The recently added Portfolio and Workload tools have been especially useful. I finally have the Gantt style view I need to keep an eye on my team's capacity and all of our different projects. The tagging and search features are excellent which makes it very easy to stay on top of the many marketing initiatives we're handling and all of their related deliverables. Adding subtasks and assigning teammates to tasks also makes it really clear who is responsible for what and when it's due. On top of that the different views such as lists, calendars and kanban boards make the platform work well for team members who prefer to process work in different ways. The UX is clean and simple and features like My Tasks and Inbox help everyone keep track of what's happening in their own area of responsibility.

Cons

One downside is that some of the more advanced features come with a fairly steep learning curve and it takes real thought and effort to set everything up properly in the tool and then get the whole team onboarded. That said I suspect that would be true with just about any team adopting a project management platform. Another limitation is around permissions such as while it does offer a comment-only option to protect documents and data from being edited, it doesn't restrict who can view that information. It would be much better if there were more control over visibility so teams could decide exactly who is allowed to see certain data.

Highly task tracking that delivers

Pros

After using Asana for several years it has honestly been a lifesaver for our team. We've built a lot of our processes into it and we depend on it heavily for task management in a very positive way. It keeps everyone accountable and it gives us a place to discuss specific tasks and projects without those conversations disappearing into Slack. Another thing I really appreciate is the steady stream of feature updates. It's clear they're continuously improving the product and that ongoing development really adds value.

Cons

There isn't much to complain about honestly. The only challenge comes up when some teammates aren't as familiar with it. Since I have been using it for more than four years, I have had time to keep refining and optimizing how I use it. But when others are less comfortable with the platform and less willing to work in it consistently, that can create a few gaps.

Helpful task alerts

Pros

One thing that really works well is getting task alerts straight to my email so I don't miss anything important. It also has a chatbox that makes collaborating with my team much more convenient. On top of that the features are simple to navigate and don't take long to get used to.

Cons

The website's color theme feels a little too plain. Since the menus are all white, it can be harder to notice what's important at a glance. Having different menu colors would make key items stand out better.

Easy teamwork

Pros

It is user friendly and simple to work with. The built-in gamification is a fun touch and beyond that, it does a really amazing job of helping manage tasks organize projects and support collaboration across teams.

Cons

Getting it aligned with our existing business processes was difficult although that had more to do with our own broken internal workflows than with the platform itself.

Stays projects on track

Pros

This product does a really good job of keeping our team focused which helps us complete projects accurately and on schedule.

Cons

I'd still love to see more automation when creating tasks and setting up projects since too much of that process is still done manually.

Useful for remote campaign management

Pros

While managing a client's remote team during the development of a new marketing campaign, I used this software and it offered really great functionality Overall even though I still prefer Trello.

Cons

A few of the card features felt confusing though that may be because I am more accustomed to how Trello works. The labels are very useful but deadlines really should be included as a basic feature.

Fantastic team visibility

Pros

Keeping track of what each team member is working on is really easy and it's simple to spot when someone is falling behind so the rest of the team can step in and help cover the gap.

Cons

There's a lot packed into it and that made the adjustment harder for some people on the team because it could feel pretty overwhelming at first.

Collaboration that keeps projects on track

Pros

Working with a team is much better with this because it's highly collaborative when several people are involved in the same project. It keeps everything organized and helps communication stay active without needing to send a bunch of separate emails.

Cons

The premium plan does come with a lot more features than the basic version which is pretty much expected. It wasn't a deal breaker for me though.

Powerful team organization tools

Pros

With Asana working with a team is much more organized and sharing all kinds of content is very efficient. It also offers a very complete set of features so it covers just about everything needed for collaboration.

Cons

One issue is that the email notifications for actions are not very clear and can be confusing quite often. Also the free plan's limit of 15 users makes it harder for small companies to fully adopt it.

Helpful task tracking, awkward design

Pros

It does a nice job of helping teams stay organized. Assigning tasks and letting people show what's been completed and how their work is progressing is definitely useful.

Cons

That said it seems a bit complex and not very easy to navigate. I really wish the design were more user friendly and there were more onboarding resources or content to help new users understand how to use it better because that support is definitely needed.

Stays organized at every stage

Pros

Asana came to me through my business coach and it started out as a pretty basic list for us. As my company grew and I added more moving parts, it kept me focused and on top of everything I needed to get done. The Google Calendar sync is really helpful and the reminders and shared workspace make collaboration with colleagues much better. I also appreciate being able to create subcategories, add notes and rearrange sections as needed. For my writing, I set up a separate project and now use the board view which lets me see my blog posts through every step of the process. It also helps keep everything neat and uncluttered instead of trying to juggle it all in my head, lol.

Cons

I usually have no problem pointing out issues with software but honestly I cannot find anything to criticize here.
