Powerful tracking tool

Pros

The basic setup felt user friendly and being able to switch between different views instead of being locked into just one is a huge improvement. Portfolios do a really nice job of helping me monitor several projects at once. One of the most useful features is being able to add a task to multiple projects since it lets the same work be visible from different angles. Tags are also really helpful for grouping related tasks across separate projects. I also appreciate that emails can be added directly into projects as tasks and the link stays clickable which makes it simple to reopen the message if I need more details or want to respond. Custom fields are incredibly valuable because they let us capture the exact information we need. Forms are a strong feature too even though I haven't been able to make as much use of them in their current state.

Cons

There are still a number of smaller things I am not fully happy with. The automations and rules feel pretty limited and restricting how many you can have per project seems unnecessary. The available triggers and actions are also somewhat basic although I understand it's still a newer feature. I'd really like to see tags included in automations. The Gmail extension also feels like it hasn't been updated in quite a while and I wish more of its features had been carried over. For example, when saving a task, I'd like to be able to choose which section of the project it belongs in right away instead of having to track it down and edit it afterward. Templates could also be handled better since I don't like that they appear in the list just like regular projects and task templates would be really useful too. I also wish there were a way to organize favorites, maybe by using sections. It would help if milestones could include both a start date and an end date. The inbox can feel overwhelming because it seems to pull in everything and even though you can focus on important items like mentions, the main view still feels cluttered with every small update. Reporting could definitely be better as well. It gets a little glitchy when making changes since reports have to be saved again and while CSV is the only export format that really works for me, I'd prefer a Google Sheets output and more control over which fields are exported. I also wish forms had stronger conditional logic because in their current form I cannot use them as effectively as I'd like.

Flexible workflows that deliver

Pros

It lets me tailor the platform to fit the way I work, while still handling a lot of the heavy lifting on its own.

Cons

It doesn't feel quite as user friendly as some of the other project management tools I have used but like anything else, it comes with a learning curve and takes a bit of time to get used to.

color coded planning that shines

Pros

Using it has been really easy and the color coding makes everything much easier to follow at a glance. I also really enjoy the Gantt and calendar features and the Google Calendar integration has been especially helpful.

Cons

At times subtasks seem to disappear and tasks with date ranges don't always sync correctly.

Top thoughtful design

Pros

Beyond being incredibly capable, the playful personality built into the product actually makes me look forward to opening it every day. The Help guides and free workshops are also detailed and genuinely useful and it really comes across that the team cares about each person's experience with the platform.

Cons

Getting started took a bit of time because the learning curve was somewhat steep which is pretty common with tools like this. Still, once I understood how everything flowed, it became something I rely on in my day to day work.

Helpful reminders for team projects

Pros

Asana has been really helpful for keeping our projects organized across the whole team. The feature we rely on most is the reminder tool because it helps us stay on top of tasks and catches those small details that might otherwise get missed.

Cons

It does a strong job overall for project management but the calendar views weren't our favorite part. For the more visual people on our team, that interface felt a bit hard to use.

Flexible task visibility

Pros

Having everything laid out clearly makes it much easier to see what each employee is working on, how tasks were assigned and how all of it integrates to the different companies we work with. Another big plus is that you can make it as detailed or as simple as you want, depending on how your team prefers to manage things.

Cons

Setting up task assignments was pretty time-consuming for us since we work with more than 200 companies so the upfront effort felt tedious. That said once everything was in place, it became much more user friendly.

Powerful multi-project tracking

Pros

Managing several projects at once is really easy with this software and it also helps me stay on top of all the smaller subtasks without missing anything.

Cons

At times recurring tasks get a bit awkward when subtasks are attached since those subtasks end up repopulating.

Visual boards are amazing

Pros

It's simple and easy to use. The boards are very visual and having different board options makes it even more practical. It also syncs with Google which is really useful.

Cons

I honestly didn't come across any downsides. In fact, I chose it after trying other similar tools.

Clean layout

Pros

Asana has a clean, simple and attractive interface that doesn't take long to learn. The standout feature is being able to switch from board to calendar to list with a single click and that covers everything I need.

Cons

The extra features sound nice but they don't really justify the price. It syncs with iCalendar but not with Fantastical or other apps and it also leaves out completed tasks and projects from syncing which pretty much defeats the point.

Powerful project tracking tools

Pros

I was able to set it up and get it running with the team really easily. It helps keep multiple projects organized without everything turning into a mess and tracking the progress of each project across different teams is simple. There are also plenty of extra plugins available that add even more functionality to the platform.

Cons

One thing it's missing is a start date field for tasks. There's also no Gantt view or resource assignment view which can be limiting. On top of that the overall project progress sometimes doesn't fully reflect the actual requirements.

perfect for project tracking

Pros

Its management features work really well and is easy to use. Assigning tasks, monitoring progress and setting priorities all happen efficiently which makes it a strong fit for any project management team.

Cons

That said I wouldn't use it as a day to day personal task manager. It works much better as a project management and task assignment platform since daily tasks aren't that simple to track.

Tracking done right

Pros

Between the collaborative tools, milestone tracking and the way it handles task tracking and prioritization, this platform has been a really amazing fit. Also it is a big plus that it integrates with free time-tracking software and Outlook.

Cons

I cannot think of anything I dislike about it. I have recommended this product already and fully plan to keep recommending it.

Versatile task management win

Pros

I use it for everything such as my job, side projects and even stuff at home. It's really simple to use, inviting guest collaborators is also not a hassle and it makes it easy to stay on top of important tasks while keeping communication going throughout the process.

Cons

I do think Monday.com has a nicer layout and is a bit more easier to navigate but honestly that's not a big deal for me personally.

Fantastic for team accountability

Pros

Juggling projects with lots of moving parts and different people is much more manageable with Asana. It does a really good job of keeping team members aware of their tasks and deadlines which saves me from having to constantly track and remind everyone myself.

Cons

At the end of the day though getting work done and hitting deadlines still depends on each person. The reminders are useful but they only help if people actually follow through. Even so, it's still valuable to have visibility into who is handling what and who is falling behind.

Collaborative task updates that keep teams aligned

Pros

Creating a task in Asana lets me add collaborators right away and that's been really helpful. Team members get email notifications whenever there's an update so everyone stays informed without extra follow-up. It also makes it easier to keep conversations tied to a specific project or task instead of having discussions scattered all over the place.

Cons

One thing that gets frustrating is recurring tasks. If I miss one with a repeating due date, getting it back up to date seems to require marking each missed occurrence complete one by one. After being away for something like a vacation, that process can feel pretty tedious.

Team coordination

Pros

One thing I really enjoy about this platform is how it combines practical organization tools with a modern, attractive design. Being able to look at the same information as a list, on a calendar, in a timeline or on boards is incredibly helpful. It makes working with a team much simpler especially when everyone has different ways of staying organized. It's also really convenient for setting deadlines, adding notes and sending reminders to teammates.

Cons

I honestly haven't been using it for very long so I am not sure I have explored everything it offers yet. At this point though, I really cannot think of anything negative to say about it.

email to task workflow shines

Pros

Being able to turn emails into tasks with the Chrome add-on is a really convenient way to make sure nothing gets missed and every message that needs follow-up actually gets acted on.

Cons

Invaluable for staying on track

Pros

Asana keeps my whole work life organized and it genuinely changed how I get things done. I don't miss deadlines or lose track of assignments anymore. We also use it to monitor our clients' hours and the Slack sync makes everything even more useful. On top of that it delivers a lot of value without being expensive.

Cons

The only thing I'd change is the time tracker since I wish it wasn't a paid third-party add-on.
