“Flexible workflows”

Pros

It has been really effective for tailoring our team's workflow and the time tracking has been very simple to manage. We've also begun using the forms feature for project requests and it's been valuable for making sure all the necessary details are collected before work starts on a task.

Cons

One thing that would make it better is the option to assign more than one person to a project without relying on subtasks. I'd also like more control over choosing which tasks are billable and which ones are non-billable.

Pros

Asana keeps everyone at our company organized and on the same page. It's simple to assign tasks to teammates while putting together your own daily to-do list which helps a lot with staying on track.

Cons

Since I usually work from the project view, tasks that other people assign to me can sometimes get buried in My Tasks and be easy to miss.

“Team communication”

Pros

Keeping tasks organized and planned out is one of the biggest benefits of using it. The app also looks really modern and visually appealing which makes it pleasant to work in. On top of that it helps team members communicate and stay aligned while working on projects.

Cons

There are a lot of built-in features so getting started can feel a bit overwhelming at first. That said most project management tools tend to be similar in that they come packed with tons of functionality.

Across the company it's really simple to see who's assigned to each task, along with the progress, task details and any attached files.

Cons

Up to this point I haven't run into any real issues, aside from a few features that require an upgrade before I can use them.

“Goals keep our team focused”

Pros

After using it over the past year, it has genuinely become a project management tool that stands out for our team. We had also been using Trello and, as part of always trying to improve how we work, decided to explore Asana to understand why so many people recommend it. It offers many of the same core tools as Trello but the goals feature has been especially valuable for us. It has really helped keep the team aligned on what we want to accomplish this year and given everyone clearer direction.

Cons

One thing that's still missing is time tracking. Other platforms like Trello offer it through add-on power-ups but this one does not currently have that feature. I feel like it would be a really great addition that could make a big difference especially for tracking costs and billing clients more accurately.

“Easy for team events”

Pros

It is very clear and simple to get used to. The interface looks modern and everything is laid out in a very user friendly manner. It's especially useful for managing large events where a lot of teams need to stay involved and coordinated.

Cons

One thing that was a bit frustrating was the amount of email notifications. It took our team some time to figure out how to disable them so every person on a task wasn't getting alerted constantly.

Pros

Keeping up with task progress and making sure things get completed works exceptionally well here. In a lot of ways handling individual tasks seems more efficient than using tools like Basecamp.

Cons

It's not quite as user friendly as some other task management platforms but it's still a very useful resource for smaller teams.

“Strong fit for team projects”

Pros

Asana works really well for keeping large team projects on track. It lets you assign tasks, set due dates and organize dependent subtasks which makes coordination much easier.

Cons

One frustrating part is the email notifications for subtask deadlines. When a message references a document, it can be difficult to navigate back to exactly where it is especially when it's buried several layers deep in subtasks.

“Colorful task tracking for teams”

Pros

One thing that works really well in Asana is being able to assign tasks to different people on the team and set due dates for each one. The list layout is also very practical since it lets you add multiple tasks without things feeling messy. I also really enjoy the color scheme.

Cons

Even though we're using the premium version, it seems like not everyone on our team has access to the same features. I am not sure whether that's something set up incorrectly on our side or if there's some kind of user limit tied to the premium plan.

Pros

Keeping a team organized is much simpler with this tool. It lets you follow tasks through different stages and with a quick glance you can see everyone's workload. The Gmail integration is a really nice addition too.

Cons

One thing I have noticed is that the keyword search can be a little inconsistent. It would also be better to have more control over who can view specific data.

“Powerful free plan features”

Pros

It offers a surprising amount of functionality on the free plan. Small teams can handle all the core features without feeling pushed to upgrade. It's also very simple to set up for a beginner or client and the interface is user friendly enough to navigate and understand without much effort.

Cons

The thing that really holds it back for me as an administrator is the missing all projects calendar. Every project has its own separate calendar but there's no way to view milestones and calendar items across the entire organization in one place which is a deal breaker for me.

“Reliable notifications”

Pros

Using it is not a hassle, with a fluid interface that fits nicely into the other apps we already use. The notifications are dependable and consistently delivered which has not been the case with some other tools I have worked with.

Cons

The email notifications could do a better job of summarizing updates. It's also frustrating that clicking through to read a teammate's comment in email keeps forcing me to sign back into the app every time.

“Helpful project tracking”

Pros

I find it pretty easy to use and it doesn't take long to teach people the basics of project management. The newer features also help with reporting progress a little better and make it easier to roll projects up into Portfolios.

Cons

To me the Goals feature still feels somewhat disconnected. It sounds like a good idea in theory but the execution doesn't seem fully thought through. It also takes a fair amount of time to keep everything updated properly and linked the right way.

“Fun task tracking perks”

Pros

One thing that makes Asana enjoyable to use is being able to add notes and collaborators to tasks and the little animated gif that sometimes appears when you finish something is a nice touch. That kind of fun reward is not something I usually see in other software.

Cons

A limitation is that tasks can only be assigned to one person instead of multiple people. There are times when that would really be useful although I can also see why they decided to structure it that way.

“Easy planning that keeps us aligned”

Pros

I find it very easy to use. As it helps me structure my day clearly while also giving me visibility into what everyone else on the team is working on. We rely on the timeline view all the time when we're sorting out weekly priorities and it fits our marketing team's workflow really well.

Cons

The only limitation I have run into is with project templates. I wish there were a way to use variable values in them, like inserting a <name> placeholder into task titles.

Pros

Using Asana has been nothing short of amazing. It's very simple to use and the way it keeps everything organized is excellent. You can customize the setup however you want and switch between views to match exactly what you need to get done.

Cons

One thing that can be frustrating is that new accounts are automatically signed up for email notifications. That gets annoying pretty quickly and turning them off is more of a hassle than it should be. My only suggestion to the IT team would be to change that default setting.

Pros

Compared with other platforms I have used, this one really stands out for how many features are built in. I was especially impressed by the wide range of project management approaches included which makes it feel very complete and capable.

Cons

The thing to keep in mind is that the app expects users to be fairly comfortable with computers and mobile tools. It's not especially hard to learn but someone who isn't very digitally confident would probably need a bit more guidance and support.

Pros

At our company we use it for several different things and have been really happy with it. It's a simple, effective way for meeting organizers to build an agenda and assign follow-up tasks. It's also incredibly helpful for managing complex projects with deadlines and lots of people involved.

Cons

One issue we keep running into is how difficult it is to remove projects from a user's view. That can make the workspace feel cluttered which kind of defeats the purpose of having a tool meant to create organization and clarity.

As a project management tool, it works really well for organizing projects and dividing responsibilities across a team. The transparency is also a big plus since it makes it easy to see where everyone is in the process at any given moment.

Cons

I am probably not getting the most out of it yet because there's a lot to learn and not everything seems user friendly right away.

“Powerful collaboration for marketing teams”

Pros

The product looked modern and its potential for collaboration was obvious. With more time to get properly onboarded, I could see myself using it for projects. It seems especially well suited for building workflow systems for businesses, particularly in marketing.

Cons

That said there were so many features and options available that it became a bit overwhelming to stay focused on how to accomplish what I actually needed. A more guided tutorial that helps people figure out exactly where to start and what fits their needs would be really helpful almost like a Sorting Hat for internet users. It's possible something like that already exists and I just overlooked it.
