“modern feel”

Pros

The interface is very user friendly and getting around the platform is also not a hassle. It also has a modern look especially compared with more traditional and less adaptable tools like MS Project.

Cons

One big frustration is that I still cannot access a proper Gantt timeline view in the mobile app. That becomes a real problem during calls when I need to quickly check dates or events while I am away from my desk.

“Free plan that delivers”

Pros

One of the biggest reasons I stick with Asana is the free plan. With how many tools I already pay for, having one that still offers real value at no cost is a huge plus. It also works across multiple devices which comes in really handy when I am out and need to check or update things on the go.

Cons

Getting started was a bit confusing at first. After using it for a while, I eventually figured it out but there was definitely a learning curve and it took some time to feel comfortable with it.

“Confusing navigation”

Pros

nothing about it stood out in a positive way for me. I didn't enjoy using it and there really wasn't anything I liked most about the software. It just seems complex overall.

Cons

After spending years using Trello, this felt very hard to get used to. The layout isn't user friendly at all and navigating through it is frustrating. It's also difficult to track down tasks that have been assigned or recently updated.

“Task visibility shine”

Pros

Keeping teamwork in one place has been one of the best parts of using it. I can quickly read comments, respond to others and have every conversation tied directly to the project which makes it really helpful when we need to go back and reference something later. It also does a really good job of helping me manage tasks across multiple projects. I can prioritize what needs attention and see everything clearly in the My Tasks section of my account. Another feature I really appreciate is how projects roll up into portfolios since that lets me get a quick view of related projects all together. On top of that being able to post status updates to both projects and portfolios makes it much easier to stay on top of everything I have been working on.

Cons

The communication features are very strong but they can also become a bit overwhelming when you're involved in too many projects at once. If you're added as a collaborator on a task, you end up seeing every comment on that task even when the messages are not actually meant for you. That can create some confusion and the amount of information coming through can feel distracting and interrupt your workflow.

“Okr alignment done right”

Pros

Asana's newer Goals feature does a really nice job of connecting everyday tasks to higher-level objectives through the OKR framework. Having that kind of top-down goal alignment all in one app feels genuinely innovative and I haven't really seen another tool pull it together quite the same way.

Cons

Recurring routines with subtasks are still awkward to manage. If someone sets up something like a morning routine with 8 subtasks to repeat every weekday, the task list, inbox and calendar can quickly get overwhelmed with repeated entries. We've actually had better results handling routine work in Trello with Planyway, while keeping it focused more on project-based, non-routine work.

“task management for church teams”

Pros

It has become our go to tool for managing church tasks and projects. Getting started was very easy and it's simple to use day to day. It does everything we need, feels very functional and unlike other platforms we've tested, it hasn't been buggy. The interface is also very user friendly which makes it easy for everyone on the team to stay on track.

Cons

One thing that would really help is having more pricing options for non-profit organizations. It would also be nice if free users could access at least a few more project view options.

“Reliable teamwork”

Pros

Asana works really well for team collaboration and keeps task management organized. Having both web and mobile access makes it convenient to use anywhere and it also does a good job supporting workflow management across the team.

Cons

It's not the best fit when it comes to scaling for very intensive graphic-heavy work. Adding a built-in time tracking feature would make it much more useful.

“Team workflow fully under control”

Pros

Back when I was running a social media agency, I used Asana for about 1 to 2 years and it made a big difference in how I organized my team. It gave me a clear way to follow every task through its different stages and I could also see each team member's workload at a glance. Another thing that helped a lot was the Gmail integration since I was able to create tasks directly from my inbox quickly and conveniently.

Cons

At the beginning one frustrating issue was that I couldn't copy and paste images directly from the body of an email. Later on, once the Gmail integration was improved, that problem was fixed. The email notifications were also pretty annoying at first until I figured out how to turn them off. It would still be useful if they added an option to send email alerts only for important tasks.

“Powerful templates”

Pros

It works really well for teams that need more features than Trello. Also the free plan is very amazing and the upgrade pricing is fair enough to grow with a business. I also liked being able to use traditional task lists alongside Gantt and Agile boards which makes it feel much more capable and well-rounded than Trello.

Cons

Coming from someone who usually adopts new tools pretty quickly, this one actually felt like it offered too much. We ended up getting lost in the number of features and eventually chose Basecamp instead because its onboarding was much easier to take in. That may just have been our specific experience rather than the norm but that's how it played out for us.

“versatile project views”

Pros

Using it has made project setup and collaboration really easy. The drag-and-drop tools and tagging options make it simple to build, update and share projects with the team and it's especially helpful that I can add subtasks without any hassle and switch between list, board and calendar views depending on what I need.

Cons

One downside is that we've run into limits on how many users can be included in a project although that seems more related to the plan we're on than a problem with the tool itself.

“Simple to learn”

Pros

It is really easy to use. For a small business like ours having something simple to roll out and learn quickly was incredibly important.

Cons

Because the platform includes so many features, it's easy to miss out on using everything it offers. You really need to spend time learning the system to make the most of it.

“Helpful project ownership tools”

Pros

Setting up separate folders for each project makes Asana really convenient for organizing work especially when you're coordinating with bigger teams. It also helps a lot that each person can take ownership of their own responsibilities.

Cons

Task management can be difficult in this software. It also lacks the ability to create a Gantt chart which would make scheduling and tracking timelines much easier.

“centralized task hub”

Pros

Keeping work organized in it has been really easy. It makes it simple to track tasks, collaborate with others and reduce all the back-and-forth emails. Having one central place for everything that I can access from anywhere has also been a big plus.

Cons

The PowerBI integration isn't very good and pulling large extracts can be very slow. Some people may prefer other tools because of their tighter connections to source repositories but that's not something I personally need.

“A game-changer for teamwork”

Pros

Coming from workplaces where everything was handled through email requests, using a tool like this felt like a complete revelation. It really changed the way projects are assigned and made collaborating with the team much more organized and efficient.

Cons

Lately they've been adding new features that are locked behind more expensive plans. I understand they need to make money from the product but for small and mid-sized companies, going all in on a higher tier isn't always realistic which means they miss out on some of the functionality.

“Fantastic collaboration across devices”

Pros

Using it has been very easy since it's web-based and works well on both desktop and mobile. It also makes teamwork simple because you can bring in other collaborators on a project, including clients.

Cons

Up to this point it has worked really well and I haven't run into any glitches or bugs while using it. The only minor downside is that the email notifications can feel a bit annoying sometimes.

“Powerful collaboration”

Pros

One of my favorite parts is the app integration feature since it lets me track my time while I work and the platform also works really well for collaborating with the rest of the team.

Cons

Getting comfortable with the platform took some time. It can do a lot but while trying to stay on top of my work, I never really had the chance to explore it enough to fully understand all of its more complex features and benefits.

“Flexible setup”

Pros

It works well for different skill levels. Someone new can stick to the basic functions, while more advanced users can dig deeper into the wider feature set. It also takes less time to learn than a lot of competing tools. The dashboard is user friendly and there are plenty of templates available that fit all kinds of project needs.

Cons

The customer support still needs improvement and the reporting features could be more detailed. Pricing also feels a little on the higher side and could stand to come down a bit.

“Recurring tasks that keep me on track”

Pros

The feature I really enjoy is setting up recurring tasks. After I finish a task for the month, it automatically shows up again with the next month's due date which helps me stay organized without having to recreate it each time.

Cons

At first the interface felt a little confusing to navigate but after using it a few times, it became second nature and didn't end up being a major issue.

“Organized project tracking wins”

Pros

One of the best parts is the time tracking feature. The app feels well organized on both mobile and desktop and it gives me a reliable way to follow every stage of each project from start to finish.

Cons

A few pages still aren't translated which can be frustrating. Task search also doesn't work as well as I expected and I am not sure whether that's because my tasks aren't written in English.

“Team collaboration done right”

Pros

Getting started with Asana was quick and bringing the team in to participate was just as simple. It lets you organize project activities without much hassle, work together with others, assign tasks clearly and keep an eye on the overall project timeline.

Cons

One limitation I have run into is not being able to export a project plan or create dependencies between tasks. Since I am on the free version, it's possible those features are available in the paid plan.
