Reliable task tracking

Pros

Getting a basic project up and running is very easy and creating tasks, assigning them to team members and following the work through to completion feels really convenient.

Cons

One thing that could be better is how sub-task details don't show up properly under a project when you're in the task view. It would also help a lot to have the option to assign a single task to multiple users.

Very clean task tracking

Pros

The UI and UX felt simple to work with making it simple to build lists, assign tasks and organize teams. It's also been really useful for keeping documents attached to each task so everyone can get to emails and files in one place with a quick drag-and-drop.

Cons

The downside is that tasks can sometimes be archived accidentally. A few team members who were new to the platform also didn't realize they were marking tasks as complete when they were only trying to open them.

good for task delegation

Pros

Having a tool that lets us assign tasks to different project team members and automate reminders has been really helpful.

Cons

Wlell it's still just another separate system. We really need something that sits on top of everything else we're already using. I can picture the idea in my head even if I am not technical enough to explain it perfectly. Needing to jump into a completely different tool just to update a task, milestone or deadline seems confusing and people often skip doing it. There's definitely a lot of potential here but the overall experience needs a full rethink.

Organized teamwork

Pros

Keeping a team organized is where this really shines. I have even used it while working with a development group and it genuinely made everything much simpler for us. Being able to share tasks with teammates and assign tasks or subtasks to other people is something I really appreciate. It makes planning a project feel extremely efficient and well organized.

Cons

Email integration and support for external file storage could be better. It would also be more convenient if we were able to view the backup files of colleagues. Other than that, the platform feels well designed and the interface is excellent.

Helpful kanban

Pros

Asana has completely transformed the way our service-based team handles work making it much simpler to communicate projects and tasks with other teams. It gives us a reliable way to receive, move forward and track tasks across a wide range of projects throughout the business. The 'rules' feature has been especially useful since it automatically moves tasks around the board once they're completed which is a big help for keeping everything organised. Task filtering is another feature that really supports that organisation. It also offers several ways to view projects, including lists and Kanban boards, with Kanban being the option our team uses the most.

Cons

With a lot of teams involved, it can sometimes be difficult to keep track of everything if the workflow isn't maintained carefully. There have been times when we've had to go back and spend extra time reorganising tasks just to make sure we were completely clear on where they sat in the workflow.

Flexible client tracking powerhouse

Pros

Having one place where I can build out all kinds of projects and tasks for different clients makes a huge difference. It keeps everything organized in my head when I am juggling a lot of clients every day and it also helps me stay on top of the work employees and interns are handling.

Cons

The only thing I'd really want more of is automation especially when setting up and finishing projects, tasks and subtasks.

effortless team coordination

Pros

Asana keeps our team's tasks and projects organized and coordinated really well, without creating any issues. In short, it makes collaborative project management much simpler.

Cons

The platform is user friendly so working in it is actually enjoyable. Up to this point I haven't run into any downsides.

Team task sharing done right

Pros

Being able to share tasks with teammates and assign tasks or subtasks directly to specific people makes project organization feel incredibly efficient and well structured.

Cons

I honestly haven't run into any issues with this software. It feels very well designed and the interface is visually appealing too.

Clear workflows

Pros

It is pretty easy to use and the layout makes it simple to follow what's going on across the tool. The interface is well organized so it's easy to tell tasks and updates apart at a glance. Forms are especially useful for cutting down on repetitive manual work and portfolios give both managers and team members a clear view of project timelines and overall workload capacity.

Cons

That said it doesn't feel as full featured as some of the other project management platforms we evaluated. While the interface is good, it's not the strongest design out there. The same simplicity that makes it quick to learn also means giving up some functionality and customization options that other project management tools offer.

Very helpful collaboration

Pros

Across our team this has really improved collaboration and communication. We use it to handle a wide range of tasks and setting up projects and assigning work to teammates is very convenient. It's a very good platform for task and project management, with plenty of basic features and even some CRM-style capabilities. Since it's cloud based, it's accessible and practical for day to day work. I also appreciate how well it integrates with other applications. On top of that it gives us a reliable space for communication, while making it possible to track activities and manage interactions in one place.

Cons

After using it for many years, I can honestly say it has delivered excellent service. I am very happy with its features and functionality. It's been an excellent place to manage tasks and it really adds strength and structure to our projects.

Easy project management essential

Pros

It's become an essential part of how we manage our team, projects and overall execution. The platform is user friendly and flexible and I have especially appreciated the addition of Trello-style Kanban boards.

Cons

It can be a little slow to load at times. Aside from that small issue, there's really nothing else worth pointing out considering how much value we get from a tool we use every day.

Fantastic for team workflows

Pros

Asana has been really helpful for keeping our marketing projects organized, assigning tasks and responsibilities and staying on top of each step in the workflow.

Cons

One frustration is the number of email notifications it sends me every day including updates on workflow steps and tasks that don't actually require my attention. I am guessing there's a setting to adjust this but I haven't found a simple way to reduce the emails without removing myself completely as a collaborator on the project.

Real-time project visibility

Pros

Running a remote company makes it tough to keep everyone aligned during projects and client work and this has really helped with that. We can view each project as a whole, check the status of every task and clearly see who is responsible for completing what. Since everything updates in real time, we always know exactly where a project stands at any moment.

Cons

We've been using it for less than six months so I cannot honestly point to anything I dislike yet because I am still getting familiar with it. Up to this point I have really enjoyed everything I have used.

Flexible views for remote teams

Pros

Working with remote teams, the deep level of organization in Asana is really important. The paid plans also add more custom field options which helps a lot with tracking progress. It gives you a Kanban-style board, task management and even a calendar view although not all of those features are included in the free version.

Cons

Getting started with it can feel pretty overwhelming. If the admin setting things up isn't very detail-oriented or organized with projects and tasks, that makes the experience even more frustrating. One of my teams is actually switching to a competitor soon and I am genuinely looking forward to it. It has so many features but a lot of them end up feeling frustrating to deal with, just like with other project management tools so it may not be something I keep using much longer.

Very versatile integrations

Pros

Using it has been pretty easy as a project management tool and the huge number of integrations is really what makes it stand out. On its own, it's already an amazing platform but those add-ons take it to another level. My team used Polly for polls, Google Sheets for Google-related workflows, Outlook and Harvest for time tracking. Being able to tag tasks, assign them to people and see the platform keep getting updates and improvements has been a big plus.

Cons

This feedback is based on the free version. It can start to feel complex pretty quickly especially since it doesn't include conditional tasks or dependencies unless you move to a paid plan. A lot of that awkwardness comes from how subtasks are handled within each project because the setup can become overwhelming fast. The part I dislike most about the free version is that former employees or short-term contractors stay listed in the system permanently and their names cannot be removed even after access is taken away. Seeing those names still sitting in the team list on the left panel feels pretty awkward.

Clean visuals

Pros

The layout and visual design in this software are excellent. Everything feels thoughtfully organized, with attention paid to every detail which makes tracking progress and sharing updates really hassle free.

Cons

One thing it's missing is an instant messaging feature which would make project communication a lot better. Right now the comments section only triggers email notifications and that can become pretty cluttered and hard to manage.

Task planning that keeps me on track

Pros

One thing I really like is how simple it is to assign tasks, set due dates and add tagged comments for the right people. I rely on the My Tasks feature every day to organize my priorities, keep track of my must-dos and plan out how I manage my time throughout the day.

Cons

A frustrating part is how hard it can be to locate tasks or projects once they've been marked complete. If you don't remember the exact title and search for it, that part of the system seems pretty confusing. I have also noticed that when a due date is set as a range, the task may not appear in the My Tasks list when expected and then suddenly it's already due.

Flexible task management powerhouse

Pros

Handling a large number of tasks in Asana feels very flexible. I can organize and sort everything, share work with others, keep up with recurring events and collaborate across projects, tasks and teams without much friction. Being able to build custom projects also makes it fit different workflows really well.

Cons

The free version does have a limitation when it comes to exporting especially if I need reports outside of the standard list views.

User friendly task tracking

Pros

It's user friendly and finding tasks and projects is quick and simple. The interface is especially welcoming even for people who are completely new to the platform.

Cons

One thing it's missing is a built-in way to track key performance indicators for each department in the company. Because of that, we have to rely on another system or manage KPIs in Excel instead.
