Feature packed task tracking tool

Pros

It is easy to use and it comes with plenty of detailed features that really help with managing tasks. It's also a nice touch that every now and then, you get a little surprise when you finish a task.

Cons

I'd change how accessible it is to turn a task into a subtask within the menu system. I use that feature a lot and having to dig through menus every time makes it more frustrating than it should be.

Useful even when free

Pros

I really appreciate about this program is how flexible it is. I've been using it for contract work and honestly I enjoy it more than the project management tool I use for my own tasks. Asana can be adapted to manage just about anything and even the free version offers plenty of value.

Cons

I still haven't found a way to remove or delete old organizations from my account.

powerful integrations for workflows

Pros

One of the best parts is how well it integrates with time-tracking tools like Everhour which lets you handle both your time and task management in one place. It also seems to offer a wide range of integrations even beyond the ones I've personally tried which makes the platform feel much more versatile and better connected to the overall workflow.

Cons

It can start to feel like you're constantly living inside your task list. In our organization, each team member has an overwhelming number of daily tasks and when items suddenly turn red, it can create stress that isn't always actually necessary.

fantastic for remote teamwork

Pros

Running a fully remote team across different parts of the world has become much more manageable with Asana. It's helped us stay organized in a lot of different ways and keeps multiple projects moving without things slipping through the cracks. We can separate work by team and department which makes everything much clearer across the organization. The biggest bonus is that the free plan is already useful on so many levels. Up to this point we still haven't had any real reason to upgrade.

Cons

There's honestly very little to complain about. If I had to point to one thing, it would be the option for certain users, like managers, to view a calendar that combines multiple teams instead of having to check one team calendar at a time. As far as I know, that may already be limited to the paid version.

Amazing UI!

Pros

It seems modern and enjoyable to use. The interface and overall user experience are excellent and getting around the platform is very easy. Even the free version includes plenty of useful features which makes it stand out even more. Compared with Basecamp and Monday, it comes across as the better option and it also handles the Trello-style board view really well within the app.

Cons

Nothing negative comes to mind. It's an excellent tool and listing drawbacks just for the sake of having some would feel unfair.

task planning that just works

Pros

Being able to set recurring tasks, shift them to different days or assign them to other users has been incredibly helpful. I honestly couldn't keep my days organized without it. I use it to manage work across four different companies and the color coded projects, task comments and team conversations make everything much easier to stay on top of.

Cons

I really don't have any complaints at all as overall I love it.

efficient project tracking

Pros

Asana covers everything I need to keep projects under control and assign tasks across the team efficiently. It's simple to organize work and the automatic reminders and status notifications help everyone stay updated on each task.

Cons

At times it can send more reminder notifications than necessary but the good part is that they're simple to disable or adjust in the settings based on your preferences.

simple setup and task management

Pros

The tool is easy to use. Setting up new projects takes little effort and creating and assigning tasks or subtasks to team members is quick and convenient.

Cons

Where it falls short is reporting and tracking. It's not very simple to pull useful reports, monitor time spent or get a clear view of a true agile burndown chart.

Ideal project partner

Pros

It has become such a core part of how our team manages projects and stays organized that we joke it's basically another team member. It's very quick to learn, is user friendly Right away and they keep rolling out updates that clearly reflect user feedback and ongoing improvements.

Cons

I'd still love to have the ability to sort by due date within a project section. From what I understand though, they're already working on it so I'm hopeful that feature will be added soon.

flexible task views and collaboration

Pros

One thing that really keeps Asana useful is how often it adds new ways to look at work, like the timeline view and similar options. It handles collaboration and ownership well too since you can assign people to tasks, follow progress clearly and see edits as they happen.

Cons

real time functionality could still be better. It also offers plenty of integrations already but having more CRM options would be especially helpful for a SaaS business where engineering work is often directly tied to a deal.

handy reminders wins

Pros

There are plenty of ways to organize lists and tasks, plus several viewing options depending on how you prefer to see the information. The email deadline reminders are really helpful, the platform is simple to use and assigning tasks to specific people works well.

Cons

Instead of assigning two people to the same task, it creates a duplicate task and gives one person each version which can be frustrating.

Helps stay on track

Pros

Compared with other project management tools I've used this one seems the most user friendly by a wide margin. We usually dive into new platforms at the beginning and then slowly stop using them but that hasn't happened here at all. We've stayed consistently engaged with it which says a lot about how well it's designed. Setting up projects and tasks is easy and everything stays organized without much effort. The daily and weekly reminders are also something I really value because they help me stay on top of my work.

Cons

I don't have any real complaints about this software. It has lived up to everything I needed and expected and it also works really well for my team when it comes to communicating about projects, timelines and deadlines.

powerful planning for teams

Pros

For simple to-do lists, this can feel like more than you need but once tasks and projects get more involved, it offers plenty of features to help keep the whole team aligned and on track. If task lists, calendars and kanban boards cover what you need, the free version is a good place to start. More advanced tools, like workload tracking, are available on the paid plans.

Cons

The challenge isn't really the software itself so much as human nature because getting everyone on the team to actually use it consistently and keep everything updated.

fantastic for team deadlines

Pros

As a project and task manager, this has been one of the best tools our team could use. It's helped a group of creatives stay organized, keep up with tasks and set clear deadlines across multiple clients.

Cons

I haven't run into any problems with it. Both the desktop version and the mobile app have worked flawlessly for managing tasks.

Simple project tracking design

Pros

It felt very user friendly. Also it is really helpful for tracking projects and tasks and it makes following up with teammates on milestones much easier. The interface also looks clean and well designed which adds to the overall experience.

Cons

Getting this one to fit naturally into my usual workflow took a while. Since I was already used to managing things through email like Outlook or Gmail, along with a few other apps, it wasn't automatic for me to remember to check it regularly and move my tasks there instead of keeping them where I normally had them.

easy project setup that scales

Pros

The tool is very flexible. It doesn't push you into one complicated way of working or a fixed project structure. You can set up and organize projects based on what you need at the time, without dealing with unnecessary complexity or filling out lots of forms. As projects grow more complex the platform can expand with you and offer extra features when you need them.

Cons

That same flexibility can also turn into chaos pretty quickly. Keeping projects organized and clean really matters because without some level of control, it's very easy for things to turn into a tangled mess.

better sprint collaboration

Pros

One thing that really works well is how the platform lets my team discuss tasks and keep track of everything that needs to be finished during our sprints.

Cons

The interface isn't my favorite because it can feel a bit confusing At times even though it still does what we need. I'd definitely like to see that part improved.

powerful integrations and interface

Pros

The thing that really makes Asana stand out is the huge number of integrations it offers. By itself, it may not feel all that unique but those integrations make it incredibly useful in day to day work. The interface is also really well designed and pleasant to use.

Cons

Getting started with it was a little tricky At the beginning and there was definitely a learning curve. After some time though, it became much more comfortable to use. The app integrations are a big advantage but they can also be a downside since you end up needing quite a few of them to get the level of functionality you actually want.

timely projects and better communication

Pros

Daily communication is much better with it and it makes managing projects easy. Because information is constantly flowing, projects tend to get finished on time.

Cons

One downside is that it doesn't let users accurately track how much time someone spends on a specific task. That makes capacity planning fairly challenging.

excellent for project collaboration

Pros

Among the platforms I've used for sharing projects, this has been one of the simplest. It makes collaboration easy and gives our team a clear way to work together and leave feedback on projects.

Cons

Up to this point I haven't come across anything I dislike about the software. It was also very quick to learn.
