team tasks keep moving

Pros

Every day, I rely on it to keep my team organized. It makes it simple to assign and delegate tasks so everything keeps moving forward without getting stuck.

Cons

One downside is that it can run slowly especially when I'm using a mobile network with weak coverage. It also doesn't have a native app.

helpful project handoffs, cluttered view

Pros

As our marketing department expanded from around 30 people to more than 60, with several teams contributing to the same projects, we needed a reliable way to track quarterly work and pass tasks from one team to the next without losing visibility. Asana has done a good job of meeting that need. The forms feature is also a nice touch and works really well.

Cons

The thing that gets frustrating is how cluttered the interface can feel. I really only need to focus on the projects tied to my work but my view is crowded with projects from across the entire marketing organization, including many I'm not involved in at all. Because of that it's harder than it should be to get a clear high-level picture of what I'm personally responsible for instead of everything the full team is handling.

versatile and quick to learn

Pros

It offers really strong functionality, feels versatile and doesn't take long to learn. The implementation was easy, our staff took to it well and it genuinely helped us stay more organized.

Cons

The downside was customer support which was very slow and not helpful. Responses usually came 2 to 3 days later. I also ran into an issue with an automatic charge that I disputed and while I was able to cancel the service, they still kept the money as credit for future use. I prefer fast, customer-focused service and that definitely wasn't the case here.

flexible project setup

Pros

One thing that really works well is how customizable the projects and lists are across different teams. The flexibility is much better than other tools we considered especially since our lists can look completely different depending on the project.

Cons

The downside is that the software could be more user friendly. There's no free desktop app for Mac so we sometimes forget to leave the browser tab open throughout the day. Creating new tasks also feels a little finicky. The only method I've figured out is opening an existing task and pressing Enter which seems less user friendly compared with other productivity tools I've used.

clean project tracking setup

Pros

Just getting started with it and it already seems like a good way to keep projects organized and help everyone stay aligned on status updates. I also prefer the table-based layout over card-style views which makes everything feel more structured and efficient.

Cons

At this point I really haven't run into any issues. It's been clean, simple to navigate and most importantly, there haven't been any unexpected surprises.

fantastic for team task tracking

Pros

Being able to follow a project while the team is actively working on it is my favorite part. I can immediately see when someone finishes a sub-task which lets me jump in and handle the next step right away.

Cons

The part I like least is that once a task is marked complete, it disappears from everyone's view so you have to go searching for it later.

clean task tracking win

Pros

Moving tasks and assignments out of scattered emails and paperwork into Asana has been incredibly helpful. Everything feels much more organized and intentional in a clean, well-structured system. The mobile version is also really nice and makes it convenient to keep up with work from anywhere.

Cons

There are times when it feels a bit too complex because of the extra layers of options and task structure although that can also be useful when managing bigger projects or working with larger teams.

stays on top of everything

Pros

One of the best things about this software is how well it helps me stay on top of pending projects and all the tasks I need to get done. I'd definitely recommend it.

Cons

At this point I honestly don't have any complaints about the software. I only recently started using it and I've been enjoying it so far.

clean task tracking for teams

Pros

The tool keeps project and task management very minimal which works really well when the goal is to stay on top of deadlines, know who owns each task and keep everything organized and traceable in one place. Managing tasks and resources is also very easy and the interface is extremely user friendly. I'd especially recommend it for teams that include people who don't usually enjoy using software or tend to struggle when learning new tools.

Cons

Using the free version, one downside is that there's no real way to reduce the number of emails it sends which can become a bit much. I've also had cases where emails sent from a mobile phone bounced back and that takes away from the overall convenience. It's also missing core project management capabilities so it can't really serve as a complete PM tool by itself.

excellent for managing multiple projects

Pros

Keeping several projects organized at the same time is something Asana does really well and it also makes it simple to stay on top of the tasks assigned to my team.

Cons

The pricing is the only downside for me so I just wish it were a little more affordable.

excellent task tracking for teams

Pros

It has been really useful for keeping up with daily tasks and assignments. The task tracking features work very well and it does a good job of helping manage multi-part group projects with a team.

Cons

The only thing I wish it included is an archiving feature so tabs I need to remove for reducing clutter wouldn't end up getting lost.

task creation feels confusing

Pros

Having one place to message other staff members is really helpful and I appreciate that all of my dance-related work stays inside this app instead of disappearing into my text messages.

Cons

The interface does not feel very user friendly to me. I have tried several times to create a task and it has been confusing every time. I have also struggled to locate tasks and when several people are commenting on the same task, the conversation can start to feel a bit cluttered and messy.

pleasant task organization

Pros

Tasks are laid out in a really pleasant way and being able to drag them around makes organizing everything much more convenient. The text editor comes in handy and the comment section has made communication between my supervisor and me much better.

Cons

One thing that gets annoying is not being able to use bullet point formatting in comments once they're published. Editing an update or posted comment can also be a bit of a hassle at times.

Has amazing features

Pros

It is easy to use. It has really useful features that make it simple to spot when activities overlap or when assigned responsibilities conflict.

Cons

At this point I have not run into much to dislike. If I had to point out one thing, adding a user to my account was a little tricky.

helpful team task visibility

Pros

I find it very easy to use. You can create a project, add multiple tasks under it and assign those tasks to different team members. One thing that works really well is that everyone can see how information is moving, review updates and jump in to pick things up at any point.

Cons

The dashboard layout and some of the links are not very clear when viewing the workflow. At times it is difficult to tell what the next step is, where it integrates and even where to go to add new tasks.

task assignment made simple

Pros

Using it is very easy. At work we mainly rely on it to assign tasks to our copywriter and web designer. We keep a separate column for each person and any task can be assigned to whoever needs to handle it. Setting something up is pretty simple too as I just add a title, open the task box, include the description or any details about what needs to be done and assign it to the right person. Once the task is completed, I get an email notification letting me know. I have a feeling we're probably only scratching the surface of what it can do.

Cons

The one part that still throws me off is after I finish typing the task details, there isn't an obvious enter, done or send button. I have to click somewhere else on the page instead. It's not really difficult and it's not a serious issue but I'm so used to seeing some kind of button at the end that confirms everything was submitted instead of wondering if it disappeared. Still, it doesn't actually get deleted so it's probably more of a personal comfort issue than a real problem.

behind the times support

Pros

nothing really stands out here. Compared with other tools on the market, this one feels outdated and the customer support is basically absent.

Cons

Getting help is frustrating because there's no real customer support available. You have to send an email and then wait for a reply and I've had to follow up again after waiting as long as 48 hours. By comparison, Wrike offers 24/7 support through phone, email and instant messaging. The software also doesn't feel very fluid since changing one item doesn't carry through to the related tasks that come after it, such as updating a task name.

helpful setup with room to grow

Pros

Right out of the box the basics are easy enough for the average user to understand without much trouble. We still had our project manager sit down with each team member to make sure everyone was using it the same way and that helped with consistency across the staff.

Cons

A few of the integrations feel somewhat awkward to work with. For instance, getting a reasonably useful export of tasks or projects requires the It2Go Chrome extension. Gantt charting is also missing from the standard setup and the Portfolios feature would be more valuable if it alerted you whenever a team created a new project.

Reliable workflow

Pros

It is easy to use and the interface is clean and well organized. Overall it's dependable when I need it, the mobile app is a really useful companion and there are plenty of features packed into it.

Cons

A few more advanced capabilities are still missing especially around deeper reporting and practical issue identifiers. It does create a unique ID but it's long and random enough that it's not very usable. Every now and then, images added to tasks also fail to display correctly.
