“Helpful dashboards for daily planning”

Pros

Having the dashboard to look over everything in my workday is really useful. I even use the free version to keep my family calendar organized and it still comes with really solid features.

Cons

At times, the font feels a bit too small. Maybe that is just me showing my age but it can be difficult to read now and then.

“Customized project management solution”

Pros

It works as a customized solution for managing projects while also helping keep track of overall business progress.

Cons

As far as I know, there really aren't any disadvantages to this software since everything gets handled without issues.

“Regular updates”

Pros

Whether you prefer lists, Gantt charts, Kanban boards, calendars, timelines, mind maps, whiteboards or public forms, it covers all of it. The really useful part is that every one of those options works off the same core data so each person on the team can use the view that suits them best. The automations are practical and included which is a big benefit for project management. They also keep rolling out updates and there are always new features and integrations being added or available for users to vote on.

Cons

The default interface has very low contrast and looks pretty bad. I'd recommend switching to high contrast or dark mode if you actually want it to feel more usable. Also because the platform can do so much, it may feel a bit intimidating at first but it helps to begin with the basics and branch out from there.

“shows same data in different personalized views”

Pros

Creating, organizing and scheduling tasks feels very simple in it. For our team, the sprint views have been the biggest win. Being able to show the exact same tasks in different personalized views for each team member has honestly been a game changer because not everyone works best looking at information the same way. Other tools we tried like Asana, Trello and even Project, never really nailed that idea of seeing the same data through our own individual lens but ClickUp does.

Cons

I don't have any major complaints. If I had to point out one thing, I'd want more flexibility in the date filters within list view. It would be really useful to have AND/OR logic for multiple date conditions especially from a developer's perspective.

“Worth the investment”

Pros

Right when we were starting to adopt project management software, we were leaning toward Asana. We had been using Asana's free version and were close to moving up to a paid plan when this tool showed up and the decision became pretty obvious. It covers everything we need for managing projects, plus a lot of extra features we may not even use. I've been recommending it to anyone who asks about PM software and everyone on our team agrees it's a worthwhile purchase and a really solid tool.

Cons

The only thing I'd still like to know is whether it can be translated into Spanish.

“Comprehensive tool”

Pros

It's really nice having the functionality of several other similar tools all combined in one place.

Cons

it can feel a bit cluttered, when multiple teams are involved, it's sometimes difficult to tell one team's documents apart from another.

“Offers a variety of layout options”

Pros

I've really appreciated the variety of layout options it offers. It's simple to find what I need and bringing other people into a project is simple. I also like that I can keep a project hidden until I'm ready to share it. I mostly use this software for managing digital advertising work for clients.

Cons

Nothing to complain about at this point. I haven't run into any issues yet.

“Recruiting updates all in one place”

Pros

Running a recruiting team means we review open job statuses a few times each week and it has been a big help with that. It lets us assign priorities to each project and add notes in one place so even if a meeting gets canceled, our Head of Talent can still see the latest updates because everything is already documented in it.

Cons

At the moment, I can't think of any downsides to mention for this review.

“Dark mode is a plus”

Pros

Dark mode is a big plus especially for night owls working late. Once I got my own space set up properly, the platform felt very simple to use.

Cons

The tutorial didn't help much so it was pretty easy to feel lost at the beginning. Still, after everything was configured the right way, it worked really well.

“Helpful task reminders”

Pros

On a recent marketing project, this software worked out really well for me overall. The most useful part was getting daily emails about what was due and what was coming up next which kept me on schedule and helped me plan each day better.

Cons

The number of promotional emails they sent about extra features and services was annoying so I ended up unsubscribing because it was too much. The platform also has a small learning curve at first though after using it a few times it becomes fairly simple to navigate.

“best project management platform”

Pros

After using it since last year, it has turned into one of the best project management platforms I've worked with. I use it to handle multiple projects at once and being able to create tasks through the Chrome extension from any website or even directly from email is really convenient. Later, I can go back and review everything in one place. The Gantt charts also make it much simpler to monitor progress.

Cons

It does take a fair amount of time to learn because it's such a large platform and can feel a little complex for someone new. I've also run into a few random bugs from time to time.

“Keeps everyone aligned”

Pros

With it, everyone stays aligned and can clearly see who owns each task and exactly where it sits in the workflow. Before we started using it, different employees would sometimes end up working on the same items without realizing it. This software has helped us save a lot of time and that directly translates into saving money as well.

Cons

I can't think of any real downsides or obstacles that I or the team have run into while using it.

“Plenty of templates available”

Pros

There are plenty of project management options and templates available, both for internal company work and for collaborating with partner organizations which makes planning and coordination really convenient.

Cons

The extra charges that come with adding more members to a team or project can be frustrating.

“Awesome client task management system”

Pros

A vendor of ours introduced this as their client task management system and we now use it with them across roughly a dozen marketing clients. Having a separate space for each client, along with recurring and active tasks, makes everything much more organized. Submitting new task requests is simple, communication around task details stays efficient and we can attach all types of files without any trouble. It has been a really strong platform for keeping client work organized and on track.

Cons

There really hasn't been much to dislike about it up to this point. The mobile version isn't quite as convenient to use but we rarely need it that way so it hasn't caused much of a problem.

“Useful free version”

Pros

The free version includes really useful features for team and project management. It helps keep track of the team, stay on top of updates and manage plans in a very organized way.

Cons

Getting started takes a bit of training before it feels comfortable to use. The mobile app is also somewhat difficult to work with and some features are only available with a paid subscription.

“Brought clarity to our operations”

Pros

When it was first recommended to me, my reaction was basically, not another tool where I have to keep entering information without getting anything useful back. But after about a week of using it, it finally clicked. It really did bring the clarity and organization I was missing.

Cons

The integration part was simple enough. The only real challenge was getting myself into the habit of using it consistently and that was more on me than on the software.

“Convenient desktop app”

Pros

Having a desktop app right away was a big plus for me since I don't have to keep everything open in a web browser. The amount of detail we can add to each task fits our needs really well. It's simple to check who owns each task, set priorities and due dates and tell exactly where that task sits in our custom workflow. Having all of that visibility in a clean interface has been really valuable. Another major reason we chose it was the option to build custom project request forms that other teams can submit.

Cons

Cross-team task assignment was a bit confusing in the beginning especially when members were working out of their own spaces and folders in it. Early on, each team used different naming conventions for columns in board view so when a task got assigned to someone working from another board, the system would automatically create a new column there. We had to spend some time coordinating consistent naming across teams to keep that from continuing.

“Handy team visibility”

Pros

Bringing the whole team into this system is pretty simple. It makes it simple to see who is handling what and it's really helpful for tracking which tasks are already finished.

Cons

The interface can feel a bit confusing at first and getting through the onboarding takes some time. The app can also be tricky to use now and then so I usually stick to the PC or iPad version instead.
