Let me start by saying I'm a huge fan of ClickUp. However, there are times when the software can be frustrating due to its unlimited customization options, which can make things easily lost or buried. Nevertheless, it remains an effective tool for managing teams, communicating deadlines, and handling initiatives. I genuinely prefer it over alternatives like Trello and Asana. My favorite feature is the Table view, which, combined with custom fields and automations, simplifies the management of large-scale content projects.

Cons

To receive a comment or chat message, a screen refresh is required. It doesn't update in real time like Slack does.

Pros

ClickUp has exceeded my expectations for a task/project management system. It covers almost everything I could imagine, allowing teams to collaborate effortlessly and visually track task assignments.

It felt clunky and overly feature-rich. It offered far more than we needed, and there was no convenient way to disable or choose specific features to subscribe to. Additionally, there was no support for using an Apple pencil for drawing. Since we frequently use Apple pencils for sketching and writing, the app's lack of native support was disappointing.

I appreciate the plethora of solutions this tool offers for my company's needs, from employee time tracking to task management and project communication. It empowers everyone, from upper management to entry-level staff, to take responsibility for our workflow and client success. ClickUp offers so many features that it's easy to feel overwhelmed, but knowing it can handle anything once it's set up correctly brings peace of mind.

If you utilize numerous features and boards like our company, it can be easy to get lost. That's why we assigned specific individuals to manage each department or area of service within the ClickUp management system.

ClickUp surpasses any task manager I've used before. Having used Asana, Todoist, and Trello in the past, I can confidently say that ClickUp combines the best features of these apps into one. It's incredibly robust and likely offers features you didn't even realize you needed, such as time tracking, priority settings, status updates, dashboards, filters, various views, document management, linked tasks, and more.

Cons

Due to its extensive feature set, ClickUp can take some time to get accustomed to. It took me 2-3 hours of watching videos and exploring the software to feel comfortable, but the time invested was worth it in terms of the software's time-saving capabilities. Additionally, there are a few minor bugs that can be annoying, but they are not deal-breakers. I'm confident the development team will address these issues soon, as they seem quite active. The two bugs that caused inconvenience were as follows: a) dashboard issues, where new information wouldn't always load or a block would temporarily break; b) slow performance, especially in the PC app compared to the web app. As a side note, adding the web app to your desktop creates a faster version of the PC app.

Pros

As a designer, I appreciate ClickUp's visual aspect. The ability to set thumbnail images per project and share flows easily with clients is invaluable. The feature set, including adding notes and links, is fantastic for personal and shared use.

What I find least appealing about this software is that my preferred view never saves, despite selecting it. I prefer the Board view, but every time I access the page, it defaults to a List view. I constantly have to switch it back and forth. Additionally, I wish there was a way to update task progress directly from the Board view instead of having to click on each task individually.

Occasionally, there are minor glitches. For instance, in the phone app, the text cursor in task comments often jumps back to the beginning of the text repeatedly. I attempted to convey this issue to the ClickUp team, but they didn't fully grasp my concern.

Impressive Integromat and Zapier connectors, along with the ability to make List View public for client reporting needs. The option to create and embed data in a ClickUp Doc allows for organized reporting accessible through a simple link.

I'm not necessarily seeking groundbreaking new features; I simply wish ClickUp would address existing issues and provide added benefits for enterprise-level customers like myself. The white-label feature is ineffective since it still displays the ClickUp loading icon. Using the software with any level of automation, whether with their tools or through Zapier/Integromat, is unreliable. Their support is unhelpful unless the issue is exceedingly simple to resolve.
