Useful integrations with Confluence, Git tools

Pros

It gives teams a very clear and detailed way to organize work. The platform is highly customizable, handles complex workflows well and makes it simple to follow progress across sprints, epics and projects. Integrations with Confluence, Git tools and the automation features are also big benefits.

Cons

It can get overwhelming pretty fast because there are so many menus, settings and configuration options. It's not especially beginner-friendly and creating or changing workflows often needs help from an admin. The interface can also feel cluttered and even basic tasks sometimes take more clicks than expected.

incredible PM features

Pros

Jira delivers excellent project and task management features which makes it simple to monitor progress and keep workflows organized.

Cons

It can start to lag when handling large projects or heavy amounts of data. Some of the more advanced setup options also need admin-level expertise which can take extra time.

Cuts down on manual effort

Pros

This program gives my team a lot of functionality to collect and manage requests and tasks while cutting down the effort needed to keep everything organized. There are plenty of integrations and connections available and Confluence has honestly been the best companion tool I've used to make sure everyone is aligned on what needs to be done.

Cons

Getting started takes time because the learning curve is a bit steep. It can be complicated to get both the team and management on the same page and fully trained to use it the right way.

Adjusted well to our way of working

Pros

It is incredibly capable when it comes to handling tasks, bugs and overall project workflows. One thing that really stands out is how flexible it is, whether a team uses Scrum, Kanban or something more customized, it adjusts well to different ways of working. The dashboards, automation features and integrations with tools such as Confluence, GitHub and Slack make teamwork feel very connected. It also makes sprint tracking and issue history simple to follow. In the end, it adds a lot of structure and visibility to day-to-day work.

Cons

A bit complicated especially for new users because it offers so many features and configuration choices. A few pages can be somewhat slow to load and creating custom workflows or managing permissions takes a while to set up properly. The interface has gotten better over time but it can still feel a little complicated for people who are not very technical.

Unfinished features

Pros

Jira is a fairly simple tool for product planning. At first, it checked nearly every box I wanted for agile development workflows. It also supports user management through third-party integrations and designing boards is simple and flexible.

Cons

Lately though, the company seems far more focused on pushing AI than improving the product's existing features. A lot of essential functionality still feels missing and much of what is there comes across as low quality. Meanwhile, the biggest thing they keep releasing is AI chatbots that generate poor summaries of tickets.

brings departments together

Pros

One of the best parts about it is being able to bring tools together across departments so Sales, Marketing, HR and Operations can all work from the same platform. That makes cross-department collaboration much better and consolidating tools in one place also helps reduce costs.

Cons

Up to this point, I haven't run into anything I dislike. It has done exactly what I need it to do without any major issues.

Supports agile workflows well

Pros

Its great when it comes to supporting Agile workflows. The Scrum and Kanban boards are packed with detail and tools for backlog grooming and sprint planning are already built in rather than added on. Compared with simpler task managers, it brings a much clearer structure to handling a complex development lifecycle.

Cons

the interface can feel somewhat sluggish especially with large backlogs or more complicated projects that use lots of custom fields. I've also seen boards and reports take a bit longer to load than expected which gets frustrating when quick updates are needed during a meeting.

Syncs well with other tools

Pros

This tool really shines when it comes to advanced customization. You can adjust workflows, issue types and boards to match almost any kind of project setup. Another big plus is how well it connects with tools like GitHub and Confluence so project documentation and code commits stay linked together in one place.

Cons

Getting started can be a bit slow for newcomers because the interface is fairly complex. On top of that, setting up detailed permissions and automation rules often needs a dedicated admin and performance can feel sluggish when a board has a large number of active tickets.

Offers robust issue tracking

Pros

Across team projects, it has been a powerful way to manage work, with strong issue tracking, customizable workflows and seamless connections to tools like Confluence and Bitbucket. The reporting features, including dashboards and agile metrics, give excellent visibility into progress and bottlenecks and its scalability makes it a solid fit for both small teams and large enterprises.

Cons

Can be challenging for new users because of its complexity and the wide range of customization options often demands significant setup and ongoing maintenance. Performance can slow down with very large projects and keeping everything updated may take a lot of time. Also, if notifications are not configured well, email and alert overload can quickly become a problem.

comprehensive tool

Pros

It feels very complete, with a wide range of tools that cover a lot of different needs. Everything is well organized, the design is clean and user-friendly and it works really well for team collaboration and tracking issues.

Cons

Honestly I don't have anything bad to say about it. If I had to point out something, the menus could maybe be a bit more user-friendly to navigate but even as it is, I still liked it a lot.

Helps us track work

Pros

It does a really good job of helping our team track work and manage releases. It also gives the whole company visibility into whether a known issue is currently being worked on or has already been resolved.

Cons

I really don't have any major complaints. The only thing to watch for is when you're working in one field and tab over to another since sometimes you need to make sure the information you entered is still there and hasn't disappeared.

Appreciate the flexibility

Pros

I really value being able to clearly connect projects and tasks within it. I also appreciate how flexible it is when creating custom or hybrid workflows since they can be shaped around how each team actually works instead of forcing everyone into a standard model.

Cons

It can become very difficult to manage if users are not organized and disciplined especially when there is no full-time administrator overseeing it. When the team lacks discipline, the tool can quickly turn into more of a burden than a help.

Clear progress tracking

Pros

Breaking each visa application into specific goals and clearly following the progress works really well for me since it lets me update clients confidently and give them accurate timeline expectations.

Cons

it can feel a bit too big and heavy for smaller teams and some parts of the setup still take time to configure properly.

integrations make it feel complete

Pros

It helps me a lot with task tracking and the boards are flexible enough to fit agile ways of working really well. Integrations with Bitbucket, Confluence and CI/CD tools also make the workflow feel complete.

Cons

The interface can start to feel cluttered on very large projects, with so many fields and filters that the setup becomes heavy.

Excellent for campaign tracking

Pros

Seeing every SMS campaign set up as a ticket with an owner and due date works really well for me because it makes it clear what is blocking a launch or follow-up.

Cons

Its interface can feel a bit complicated for non-technical teammates so I often have to explain which sections they can safely ignore.

Highly Configurable

Pros

It's basically the industry standard so most people already know how to work with it. It's also highly configurable and connects really well with other Atlassian products.

Cons

It can feel complex when you're managing non-agile projects. There's also a steep learning curve so anyone who isn't familiar with it may need some time before they become proficient.

amazing for accountability

Pros

It stands out when it comes to structure and accountability. Once the workflows are in place, everything feels organized and traceable and it becomes the source of truth for our team.

Cons

That said it can be a bit overwhelming for anyone who isn't a superuser or is less technical. Some people on our team have said the tool feels like a lot to take in and isn't the most user-friendly to use.

Connects with a wide range of tools

Pros

Keeping tabs on upcoming work, bugs, incidents and past tasks or projects is really simple with it. It serves as a strong reference point and connects well with a wide range of other tools.

Cons

Because it is so configurable, it does take some initial setup to get everything working exactly the way you want. That said the flexibility you get makes that extra effort feel worthwhile.

Essential for our workflow

Pros

It has been the core tool we rely on to keep our workflow productive especially when it comes to team collaboration, task scheduling, project planning and marketing, tracking progress, development work and reporting. Getting everything set up was simple and accessing the platform has never been an issue the entire time we've used it.

Cons

I honestly haven't run into any problems with it and whenever support is needed, the customer service team is always available to respond to complaints or questions.
