Helpful filters but awkward sprints

Pros

One thing that has been really useful is the issue search and filtering. We can save our own custom filters and share them with the team which makes it much simpler to manage different teams' sprints and backlogs.

Cons

The newer Active Sprint view feels limiting when trying to understand the main story along with its subtasks. It's hard to navigate and keep track of the original ticket directly from the Active Sprint view so we usually switch over to the Backlog view to follow active sprint tickets instead. It would be much better if there were an option to show or hide subtasks in that view. More customization there would give users the flexibility to work the way they prefer.

Highly customizable

Pros

Everything feels well organized and it gives plenty of flexibility to tailor things to your project and the way your organization works.

Cons

Nothing really stands out as a downside. The only thing worth mentioning is the 10 MB attachment limit though that might just be a setting that can be adjusted.

Tons of integrations

Pros

There's a lot to work with here, strong accessibility, plenty of options and a very flexible setup. It also offers a wide range of integrations, plugins and add-ons which makes it adaptable to different needs.

Cons

At the same time, that flexibility is also where some of the trouble comes from. With so many features aimed at so many types of users, it can start to feel confusing and lead to usability and stability problems. The reporting tools also aren't especially user-friendly so the overall experience can end up feeling frustrating.

Perfect for teams

Pros

Working with freelancers on our web projects became much more manageable with this tool. It made coordination feel exceptionally easy and if your team follows an agile methodology, it's an ideal match.

Cons

One thing that could be improved is task creation. It asks a few questions that don't always apply to every task and that can end up confusing other people involved in the project. Having a default response option would probably make things clearer.

Visible team workflows

Pros

One thing that works really well is how the ticketing system can be used for people across different organizations. The swim lanes are also a big plus because they give clear visibility to everyone, including the customer so all parties can see the progress being made toward a resolution.

Cons

There's not much to complain about since the product feels quite great overall. If anything, integrations will probably always be an important topic and not being able to pull reports across every format does make things more tough.

Reliable remote support

Pros

This software has been amazing for us. We rely on it to help our IT team stay in touch with employees whenever they run into tech issues and it has become especially important now that so many of us are working from home.

Cons

It's not a constant problem but there are times when it feels a bit sluggish and it could definitely use some updating.

scrum sprint visibility wins

Pros

Built around a real Scrum sprint workflow, this software makes it simple for non-technical team members to turn work items into stories which helps my development team quickly understand the actual end goal. From there, we can add sub-tasks while upper management and executives get visibility into everything happening behind what may look like a small request. Having all of that in one interface also makes prioritizing work much more manageable based on the full picture of our needs. Once the team gets familiar with how it approaches things, it becomes very capable and pleasant to work with.

Cons

There is definitely a learning curve with the interface and the way the system operates. Even though they provide great support and onboarding for new users, most of us still felt a bit lost at the beginning and needed time to understand how everything fit together.

Easy to use

Pros

Getting started with this application is easy and it includes most of the features a user would need to work with it effectively.

Cons

Up to now, I haven't noticed any issues in the application that would affect the user experience or make it harder to use.

Flexible integrations

Pros

It connects with practically everything and is incredibly extensible so there's very little it can't handle. It supports all kinds of notifications, workflows, screens and reporting which makes it a very capable tool.

Cons

Because it's an older product, there's a fair amount of inconsistency throughout the platform. Creating a new ticket uses a very different rich text editor than editing an existing one and there are plenty of small UI/UX differences scattered around. It can be tough to understand how the various screens and workflows fit together but once that clicks, the system becomes extremely powerful.

Dashboard and reports

Pros

What really stands out is the dashboard especially how quickly it lets us generate different reports like burndown charts. It also handles different issue types really well depending on the need, such as user stories for business requirements and enabler stories for technology improvements.

Cons

I honestly don't have any real complaints. I've also used PivotalTracker and Rally before and this feels far ahead of other tools in the same space.

Scrum boards

Pros

One thing that really works well here is the nicely integrated scrum board, along with the flexibility to configure issues and workflows. There's also a great range of plugins available and tools like easyBi make metric calculations quite useful. It has been especially helpful for keeping a remote team working efficiently without running into problems.

Cons

The cost can climb depending on how many users you have which may be a concern. Another limitation is that the burn down chart is tied to story points when it really should be configurable. Also while the interface keeps getting updated, I'd rather see more attention given to functional improvements like these.

Planning tools

Pros

Reporting tools, iteration and backlog views and the swimlane layout have all been really useful. The filter options work well, bulk updates save a lot of time and the IPM planning integration with plan view adds even more value.

Cons

One downside is that the timeline option isn't available in the base version. In a lot of other software, that feature is usually included by default so it's disappointing that the base version here doesn't support it.

Client project hub

Pros

Right from the start, its next-gen cloud setup let our agency launch a project tracking board in just a few clicks. Once we map out the roadmap with epics, user stories and tasks, we can keep clients involved because they have access and can follow our progress through real-time updates. Beyond standard project management, the added features like support and documentation integration turn it into a true all-in-one solution for us.

Cons

At the beginning, the next-gen cloud version was missing a few features and unfortunately some of those capabilities still haven't been implemented.

Fits our workflow

Pros

This platform proved to be a very flexible option for our software development and management team. It supports a lot of customization and we were able to adapt it to match our workflow without much trouble.

Cons

Getting everything set up took quite a bit of time and was more complicated than expected. The newer "next-gen" boards are definitely simpler to work with but they still don't include many of the features our team depends on. I'm hoping future updates will add more functionality to next-gen while also making the classic experience easier to use.

Pros

It really makes life simpler for development teams when it comes to managing day-to-day tasks and tracking bugs.

One thing that could make it even better would be stronger mobile app integration, along with rolling out more features to the market.

Too confusing

Pros

Packed with a wide range of features. It includes just about everything you might need, like subtasks, progress tracking for each task, assigning multiple people to the same task and more.

Cons

Using it felt overly complicated. My Technical Product Manager and other team members often had trouble working with the software. There's so much information thrown at the user that it quickly becomes extremely confusing.

User story support

Pros

Keeping up with all the user stories is much more manageable with this tool. It gives enough options to create stories that are compatible, user-friendly and simple to understand. On top of that, it includes plenty of sections that make it easier for anyone to review, understand and analyze requirements clearly.

Cons

I honestly haven't come across any drawbacks. I'd definitely recommend this product especially to teams working with agile methodology.

Ticket workflow

Pros

This ticketing tool has made day-to-day work much more manageable by helping us review tickets and comments efficiently and get tasks completed based on that information.

Cons

Every now and then some tickets don't close properly and we have to reach out to customer support to fix it which ends up taking quite a bit of time.

Clean planning

Pros

Interface looks nice and it comes with plenty of useful features. It gives a great overall view of upcoming tasks and works really well as a planning tool.

Cons

It can become a bit complex and complicated when it's not used the right way. It tends to work best when sticking with the default templates.
