All-in-one project suite

Pros

Having everything in a single application is a big advantage. It lets you work with different methodologies, handle documentation, manage issues and boards and even keep track of code changes through the source control feature while linking them to the right card. It also connects well with other tools which is really useful. We use Harvest for time tracking and it can also be integrated with Salesforce.

Cons

Because it covers pretty much every project-related need in one place, it can feel a bit overwhelming at first. There's definitely a learning curve so it takes some time to really understand the platform and use it effectively.

Transparent release planning

Pros

A well-structured platform for working with teams and coordinating with people. Moving between tasks and projects, filtering items and planning work is quick and easy. The release overview is especially useful and adds a lot of transparency. It's also flexible enough to expand the workflow with third-party integrations and customizations.

Cons

There are quite a lot of fields to complete which makes it harder to explain the system to others and even harder to get everyone to use it the "right" way. Template customization is also fairly limited so planning and release preparation take more time than they really should.

Packed with features

Pros

There's a huge range of functionality here, honestly, it covers almost everything we need. Planning sprints and keeping several teams and departments aligned has become much more manageable. It also connects well with other tools like Slack and Zendesk which helps teams link tickets together and maintain an accurate count of how many users are running into the same bug or issue.

Cons

Flip side of having so many features is that setup takes a fair amount of time. It definitely requires some upfront effort to figure out the best way to structure everything and I'd strongly suggest configuring it, testing it and making adjustments before rolling it out to the full team. Once everyone is brought in, having a defined process already in place makes things much easier.

Reliable project ticketing

Pros

Our team uses it as a ticketing system and it does a good job of helping us sort and prioritize the projects the company needs most. It also adds accountability since we can clearly track and manage the projects assigned to each of us.

Cons

Creating a ticket feels more complicated than it should because there are too many buttons and extra options. It's also frustrating that once a ticket is created, you can't edit it or add different watchers afterward. On top of that, notifications don't come through consistently.

great tool

Pros

One of the biggest strengths is how well it connects with other tools like Bitbucket, Bamboo and Confluence. Managing tasks is easy thanks to features like workflows, time logging and sprint board management. It's also highly customizable which makes it work well for different team needs.

Cons

There isn't much to complain about overall. The only part that feels a little confusing is the workflow for testing stories.

perfect for customization and alerts

Pros

The platform can be tailored to a very advanced degree and personalized in a lot of useful ways. From an end-user standpoint, the dashboard looks impressive especially with the case notifications that come through.

Cons

It does require strong IT skills to get the most out of it and having a capable developer is pretty important.

Highly adaptable and improving

Pros

One thing that really stands out is how customizable it is. The product is also being updated regularly and continues to improve so it feels like even more useful business functionality will be added over time.

Cons

It wasn't really built with agile software development in mind. At times, it can also feel quite complex to work with.

Best for dev communication

Pros

Out of everything I've used, this is easily the best software by a wide margin. It's part of our daily development work and we rely on it constantly. During the development phases, it handles almost all of our team communication.

Cons

At this point, I honestly don't have any complaints about it.

Fantastic sprint management

Pros

Whether you're working with Agile, Kanban, Waterfall or any other sprint-based approach, this is an excellent task management tool. The interface looks really good and is incredibly simple to navigate and use.

Cons

I honestly haven't run into any issues, it's been consistently excellent to use over the years.

Versatile for projects

Pros

Across a wide range of projects, this product has been consistently useful. When I'm onboarding new hires, I always mention how well it helps with communication across different parts of the business. I regularly work with around 7 to 10 different project types and it handles each one the way I need it to.

Cons

The biggest challenge is getting people to buy into it. Since it uses terminology they don't already know, a lot of people assume it's too difficult to understand. I'd also value it more if the reporting on my projects were stronger.

Essential for remote teams

Pros

With remote work becoming the norm, this has been absolutely indispensable for us. Our semi-distributed team uses it to stay transparent and it keeps everyone aligned on priorities, direction and goals.

Cons

This is a powerful, serious platform so it does take a while to really learn. The cloud version can also be affected by slow response times at times although it's hardly ever completely unavailable.

Reporting and integrations

Pros

One of the best things about this project management tool is how customizable it is. It can be adapted to suit almost any kind of project which makes it really versatile. It also connects well with the mainstream tools we already use, including Salesforce, Slack, Bitbucket and Evernote. The mobile apps are very well designed too so it's convenient to keep up with work while on the go especially for anyone who travels or moves around a lot. The reporting tools are flexible and perform very well. On top of that, customer support deserves a mention because they've always been responsive and genuinely helpful whenever I've needed assistance.

Cons

Getting used to the interface can be a bit confusing at times. There's also a fairly steep learning curve, mainly because the platform includes so many features that it can feel complicated for first-time users.

Reliable full-featured standard

Pros

It's pretty much the standard software so everyone already knows how to use it and there's basically no need to train anyone on the team. It also comes with every feature you could need so it doesn't really feel limited in any way.

Cons

Setting everything up can be quite challenging and getting comfortable with the configuration takes time because the learning curve is fairly steep.

Great for bug tracking

Pros

This has been a really great tool for assigning bugs to different team members. It also makes it simple to describe each task clearly for everyone in one central place.

Cons

It would be even better if attachments especially images, had a few more editing or formatting options available.

Handy ticket system

Pros

Getting started with it is very easy and the ticketing system lets us keep track of entire projects from start to finish.

Cons

One frustration is how often the user interface goes through major changes in a short period of time which makes it harder to adjust and work efficiently.

Agile planning done right

Pros

From backlog planning to sprint execution, this is a fantastic tool for handling Scrum and Agile work end to end. It lets us create and manage product backlogs, sprints, bug reports and more without much hassle. The interface looks far more appealing than many other tools I've used. User stories and tasks can be shared across the team without difficulty and keeping track of progress is easy. It also includes searchable tag-based labels which helps a lot when organizing and finding items quickly.

Cons

The reporting could definitely be more detailed and comprehensive. Also, moving tickets through the different board stages can be a bit inconvenient at times since they do not always land properly and sometimes need manual intervention within the ticket itself.

Dashboards visibility

Pros

Our team relies on the dashboards to quickly see the status of development work across each scrum team and they also give upper management a great story-level view of overall project progress. The Git features are especially useful because they let us track commits and connect them back to the stories that introduced them without any hassle.

Cons

When an enterprise workflow includes several groups, sprints and trains, bringing dashboards together into one unified view can be difficult.

Fantastic for agile teams

Pros

After spending time with it on Agile projects built around iterations, I can honestly say it works exceptionally well for an Agile team. One of the biggest advantages is the clear visibility it gives the team into where a project is headed. That makes adjustments much more manageable whenever changes come up during the process since the iteration-based structure supports that naturally. These iterations act like project segments from the opening phase through the final delivery, letting the team contribute step by step and continuously improve the outcome until completion. It also offers customizable options based on what the project requires and the Scrum and Kanban boards are very useful when changes need to be made. Users can create items and update them as needed without much trouble. Another strong point is the integration with other apps such as TestRail which adds a lot of value when additional tools are part of the workflow. The backlog feature is also especially helpful for tickets because you can log one at any time and return to it later when it makes sense. On top of that, the filtering tools are very good and generating reports to monitor project status is easy.

Cons

Interface is fairly large and can feel a bit overwhelming so it takes patience to get comfortable with navigation, search and similar functions because they are not always quick to work through. Another issue is that you end up having to log almost everything which can become frustrating especially during ticket creation. At times, creating a ticket can actually take longer than resolving the actual task itself.

Workflow for any project

Pros

Managing project workflows with it is very easy and the flow can be set up however the team needs it. It's not limited to software development either since it works well for all kinds of tasks and project management.

Cons

UI has definitely improved but compared with how modern web applications look today, it still has some catching up to do. At the same time, there isn't a lot that can be changed too quickly because many users are already comfortable with the current interface.

Flexible ticket organization

Pros

Working across different teams is handled really well with this tool. It does a good job of organizing tickets based on custom requirements which makes coordination much more manageable.

Cons

The part that still needs work is the user interface. It doesn't feel very simple especially when trying to figure out how to update a large group of tickets all at once.
