Reliable work tracking

Pros

We use it to keep track of tasks, bugs and updates for an online platform we built and it does the job really well.

Cons

It's not the most visually appealing tool but overall it still gets the job done.

Versatile tracking features

Pros

One thing that really worked well is how flexible it is. There are tons of features which made it possible to tailor the system to exactly what we needed for our specific use case. We ended up using a mix of tools and functions to turn it into a project management solution and it handled that job really well.

Cons

Getting started wasn't completely simple so there's definitely a learning curve the first time you use it. And even with all the tools and functionality it offers, there are still a few things it simply doesn't cover.

Team organization options

Pros

This is a very powerful project management platform with seemingly endless ways to customize your product and processes. It makes it possible to organize teams into the right groups so information and tasks can be shared much more efficiently. When it's set up properly and people have had time to learn it, it becomes an incredibly valuable tool for the whole team.

Cons

Getting it configured for your specific needs can be very challenging especially if your organization is more complex. You really need at least one certified project manager who understands how to build the structure correctly and also train everyone else so the tool is used the way it was intended. That takes a lot of effort although it can definitely be done.

Sharing and reporting tools

Pros

Ability to use shared paths for saving information in Confluence is really useful and the smaller features like the watch list and reports add a lot of value.

Cons

At times, the dashboard feels cluttered and can be confusing to navigate.

great experience overall

Pros

One of the things I like most is its rich feature set, the flexibility of having different workflows for various teams and the availability of comprehensive reporting tools.

Cons

I find the interface quite slow at times and generating more advanced reports often requires SQL knowledge.

Useful workflow but too many steps

Pros

With some customization, I can see this working well and the setup doesn't feel overly cluttered. It's especially helpful for teams spread across different locations to have the entire workflow managed in one place.

Cons

Getting through a process takes too many steps and there's too much extra information required just to move the workflow along. I also find it odd that tickets are called "issues" since that makes them sound more like problems than actual jobs or tickets.

Workflow flexibility

Pros

One of the biggest benefits of this project management giant is how flexible it is when it comes to building your own PM workflows. If your projects and working methods are more complex, the system can keep up with that. In practice, you decide how many states a task should have, from "New" to "Closed" and anything in between. You can also set how many team members need to approve an Epic, entirely based on your own process. There is a huge amount you can customize. The Kanban view is a nice touch and the "Smartsheets" feature, basically a smarter Gantt chart, available as an add-on, is also really useful. Overall, it can handle projects and teams at almost any scale without much trouble.

Cons

Downside is that it takes fairly deep knowledge of the software to get the most out of it. Setting up complex workflows and making everything work properly usually requires someone who has used the platform extensively and understands its full capabilities from a project management perspective.

Document collaboration

Pros

Creating documents is easy, updating them is quick and sharing live changes with others works really well. It's also very convenient to organize multiple documents under one structured tree which makes planning and managing information much easier.

Cons

Biggest downside is the price which feels too expensive for individual or non-enterprise users. On top of that, the mobile app isn't very user-friendly and could be improved quite a bit.

Boards for agile teams

Pros

Among the tools built for agile teams, this has been one of the best I've used. It's flexible enough to adapt to almost any requirement, whether that's software development or a design sprint. The board feature is especially useful because it gives a clear bird's-eye view of every project I'm involved in and the workflows can be customized to match exactly how the team operates. It has played a big role in helping us stay agile and the ability to integrate with other apps makes it even more valuable.

Cons

I haven't had a chance to try the mobile app yet so I can't really comment on how the experience is there.

Complete platform with charts

Pros

One thing I really appreciate is how complete the platform feels. The automatic burn-up and burn-down charts have given us a much clearer view of our day-to-day progress and better metrics for tracking how things are moving.

Cons

Choosing which emails team members should receive is quite hard and not very simple. On top of that, the interface can sometimes take a while before it becomes responsive and the learning curve is still a bit longer than it should be.

Reliable bug tracking and teamwork

Pros

Jira has been really useful for tracking bugs, assigning issues across teams, managing timelines for each task and setting priorities clearly. The add-ons especially integrations with Slack and Bitbucket, also make the overall workflow much more connected and practical.

Cons

There are no major drawbacks for me but I do think there's still room to add more features. It would be helpful to have weekly or monthly insights available for everyone, a more polished UI/UX, clearer separation between features, bugs and stories and stronger integration around failed test cases when code is pushed.

Sprint planning boost

Pros

Managing tasks across a large team feels efficient with its features and assigning work to different members based on availability makes it even more dependable. The ability to customize it around the organization's needs is also excellent. I mainly value it because it helps me track my work and measure how well I'm keeping up with the timeline I set. In the end, it supports better planning for every sprint.

Cons

At times, it takes someone with expert knowledge to really understand and use everything it can do.

simple and versatile

Pros

Right from the start, the platform feels simple and easy to use. Setting it up is simple and it adapts well to all kinds of projects across different business areas. The interface is clean and user-friendly and the option to integrate with other products makes it even more practical.

Cons

One area that could still be better is the notification system since finding the right balance for the number of alerts can be difficult although it is improving. Reporting is also a bit limited at the moment especially when it comes to things like timesheet reports.

Scrum visibility and tracking

Pros

One thing that really helps is how visible the scrum boards are, with every task and its current status clearly laid out. It's also very convenient to see right away who owns each task, compare estimated time against the actual time spent and follow any edits team members make to task descriptions. On top of that, generating progress reports with different metrics is easy and the custom filters make it simple to create tasks with all the important details included.

Cons

A couple of things are still missing though. There's no integration with Confluence which would be useful and the email notifications can get excessive since even minor changes to a subscribed task seem to trigger them. There may be a way to adjust those notification settings but I haven't figured out how.

Excellent project reports

Pros

Using this for project tracking has been a really positive experience. It keeps teams aligned, gives good visibility into the work and the transparency across tasks is very great. The reporting features are easily the strongest part.

Cons

There are a lot of links and navigation points throughout the system so it would be better if fewer clicks were needed to get things done.

Highly customizable

Pros

There's a lot to appreciate here especially the level of customization and flexibility it offers. Being able to host it either on-prem or in the cloud is a big advantage and the great selection of plugins makes it possible to expand the platform based on different needs.

Cons

Support is decent but nothing exceptional. It also feels like too much for smaller companies since the platform can be a bit overkill. Setting up the on-prem version can be somewhat challenging and the UI isn't the most simple for end users who need to track projects.

Reliable defect platform

Pros

This is a really great defect management tool that's simple for anyone on the team to access. It handles multiple projects under one user account and makes it easy to create requirements, defects and queries.

Cons

It isn't an open-source tool but compared with other tools out there, it still performs very well.
