Project management upgrade

Pros

Compared with pinning paper cards to cork boards, this is a much more useful option for project management. It's a powerful tool and handles the job far better than a manual board system.

Cons

The downside is the price and it can feel overly powerful for what it needs to do. That level of comprehensiveness may work well for bigger teams but for a smaller team, a simpler app would probably be enough.

Strong features and community

Pros

The platform is easy to use and it comes with a large community behind it plus a wide range of features.

Cons

It can feel like a collection of separate applications stitched together and it may be a bit too heavy for smaller companies.

Great value for money

Pros

I find it to be a cleaner project management tool and appreciate how easy it is to make edits and updates.

Cons

I sometimes find the workflow becomes cluttered and I feel that broader integration with additional applications would improve the overall experience.

Good UI and tracking

Pros

It works really well for tracking issues and communication with other IT users is excellent. The interface looks very good, time management features are helpful and the system is user-friendly overall.

Cons

The workflow can be quite hard to understand at times. It also feels a bit slow, has too many configuration options and navigation can sometimes be difficult.

Easy to learn

Pros

Getting around the UI feels very simple and reporting an issue only takes a few minutes. The fields are flexible enough to be customized around different business needs which is really helpful. It also doesn't take long to learn so using it day to day is pretty easy.

Cons

Handling a large volume of data can be challenging. The sorting and filtering options are fairly limited which makes finding things harder than it should be. Also, automatic emails go out for every ticket and it would be much better if there were a way to restrict them based on certain criteria.

Perfect for bug tracking

Pros

It's clearly the standard tool for managing software bugs and I can tell it offers a lot of functionality that I probably haven't even tapped into yet. For what I need, I'm usually able to track down the necessary information eventually and then move on.

Cons

The mobile app is extremely buggy and searching for tickets there is basically impossible. On the desktop version, search works better but it still isn't very simple.

Scales for any project

Pros

Whether you're running a small team of five or coordinating something massive with over a thousand people, this software can handle projects of pretty much any size. It's flexible enough to manage all kinds of work, from simple projects to huge productions on the scale of something like the next Grand Theft Auto.

Cons

My biggest complaint is the interface, it still isn't very simple. It has definitely gotten better over the years but it seems like they can't fully redesign it without upsetting long-time users who are already used to how it works. They've added improvements, like a Trello-style view but even with that, it still doesn't feel as easy to use as Trello itself.

Strong scrum support

Pros

It comes with advanced features that fully support the Agile Scrum/Sprint workflow which has become widely used and standard across the software development industry.

Cons

The downside is that the platform is very complex so people without a technical background can struggle to navigate it and understand what they're seeing.

Flexible workflows and timesheets

Pros

This software works well for project management overall. It makes it simple to follow the progress of a project, build custom workflows that match the way your team works and keep track of issues and tasks as they move along. The Timesheet feature is the part I use the most and definitely the one I appreciate most.

Cons

Newer version feels a little slower than the older one which is the main downside I've noticed.

Handy project tracking

Pros

Managing projects feels quite easy with this tool. It makes requirement gathering and documentation convenient and logging as well as handling bugs is also simple and practical.

Cons

Customer support hasn't been very strong. Building dashboards can be challenging and the notification system still has room for improvement.

Helpful progress tracking

Pros

Using this has been very easy. Engineers can quickly update the status of their work and managers can review it just as easily while keeping track of overall progress.

Cons

The integrations are fairly limited and the prebuilt workflows usually do not end up being very useful.

Built for large teams

Pros

This is a massive and very capable project management platform. It covers just about every feature you could imagine needing and is especially valuable for larger teams handling complex projects.

Cons

At the same time, the sheer number of features and the heavy setup required at the beginning can sometimes make it harder to actually enjoy using the software.

Sprint and release tracking

Pros

One thing that really works well in this software is how it lets a team manage project tasks together. It handles multiple sprints at the same time and it also makes it possible to assign and manage release versions for every task you create which is very useful.

Cons

My only complaint is that, from time to time, the information can take a while to load.

Awkward bug tracking

Pros

Honestly, there isn't much about it that I really enjoy. If I had to point to one positive, it would probably be the relatively low per-user cost which seems fairly small to me.

Cons

Using it feels awkward and the navigation is difficult so keeping track of all the bugs I've reported is a constant struggle. Every time I log in and need to use or locate a feature I haven't touched in a while, I end up spending more time figuring out where to click and how to do it than actually completing the task itself. It really comes across as something built for developers rather than with everyday end users in mind. My office doesn't currently have another option available but I genuinely wish we did.

Organized sprint analytics

Pros

Compared with Trello, this feels far more structured and gives much stronger analytics for engineering teams. It's a really effective way to organize sprints and get a clear view of burn up, burn down and velocity. The setup also makes those metrics understandable for people at any level.

Cons

It's very engineering-centric and the UX still doesn't feel especially polished. Creating and setting up new sprints can be pretty awkward, moving groups of tickets up or down isn't very aligned and the keyboard shortcut support is quite limited.

Ready from day one

Pros

It works with almost no setup which means you can focus on the work that actually matters instead of wasting time on configuration or customization. It also comes with plenty of add-ons and plugins that help connect it with the tools and IT solutions you already use.

Cons

The support is not always as reliable as it should be. You can contact the team by email but sometimes it takes several hours before you get a proper response.

Customizable and user-friendly

Pros

Right from the start, the software feels highly customizable while still being very simple for regular users to work with. It gives a great overall view and the personalization options make it even more useful.

Cons

It can feel a bit heavy for very basic processes so it seems like an even better fit for larger teams.

Sprint tracking reports

Pros

Running sprint management through this has worked really well for our team. In my role as a traffic manager, I rely on it to plan work and keep track of everything with our developers and the reporting tools along with the burn down charts are easily the most valuable features.

Cons

Getting started with it was fairly complicated and bringing the whole team up to speed on the process turned into a tedious learning curve.

Planning with flexible boards

Pros

Project planning and sprint planning come with a lot of advanced functionality. The boards are easy to follow and customization and integrations are simple to set up and work with.

Cons

It is a fairly expensive solution. Some of the more advanced features require additional user training, it can be slow at times and getting teams fully adopted takes time along with proper training.

Project management toolkit

Pros

This is a really strong project management tool with a wide range of features. It also connects well with CRM tools which makes it especially useful for technical support teams.

Cons

The learning curve is fairly long and it doesn't feel very flexible. For smaller teams, lighter project management tools like Trello may be a better fit.
