excellent project tracking and visibility

Pros

It does a really good job of helping teams organize all the work required to move projects forward. The features give engineering leaders clear visibility into what's currently in progress and they also make it easier for engineers to divide up tasks across the team.

Cons

Its flexibility is definitely a strength but it also means companies need to configure it properly for it to be efficient and useful for engineers day to day. Even small setup decisions, like turning off "initiative" level tickets, can end up limiting what teams are able to do.

Can customize it to fit our needs

Pros

Jira is highly customizable and works really well for collaboration. It's excellent for project management especially when it comes to collecting project data and keeping timelines on track.

Cons

That level of customization can also make the platform feel more complex than necessary, depending on the needs of the project.

useful for working with remote teams

Pros

This tool has been really useful for tracking projects and working with remote teams. The customization options make project management feel more tailored to what the whole team actually needs. It helps me keep my own workflow organized and I can clearly communicate project status to clients just by updating the right fields.

Cons

it can be a little difficult because the learning curve is fairly steep. Since I'm not an admin, a lot of the fields feel redundant or not relevant to my role which adds some visual clutter. It's still workable overall but it definitely comes with a few challenges.

Superb collaboration platform

Pros

It has been a fantastic collaboration platform for teams of any size. Its flexibility and versatility for software development make it excellent for managing everything from individual tasks to large-scale projects. The reporting features and visual diagrams are especially valuable for executive teams and the customer support team is consistently available when help is needed.

Cons

Because it is packed with features, it comes at a higher cost. It also takes a dedicated team to manage properly since setup and ongoing maintenance can be challenging.

allows us to set up multiple projects

Pros

You can set up multiple projects and connect them to handle dependencies, run several boards within a single project and customize Kanban boards quite a bit so they fit the way your team works.

Cons

Workflow management feels less user-friendly than it should. Even when I build a simple workflow between item statuses and add just a few basic rules, it can still suddenly get stuck. It feels like there are hidden steps or rules getting in the way.

Manages multiple projects

Pros

Having multiple projects managed in one central place is a big advantage especially with clear visibility into tasks, deadlines and who is responsible for what across the team.

Cons

It can be challenging at the beginning because the learning curve is pretty steep and new team members usually need dedicated onboarding or training before they feel comfortable using it.

supports a productive team environment

Pros

Considering the price, it delivers great value and reliable service. Updating tasks and planning schedules is simple and it supports a productive team environment for working together on projects. On top of that, it includes plenty of features for building boards, lists and diagrams.

Cons

Compared with competing tools, it feels less colorful and more basic in appearance and the interface can be overly complex and crowded with too many options and settings.

organizes help pages

Pros

What I appreciate most is the ability to organize help pages and manage ticket creation in a work setting.

Cons

The part I liked less is that it is not always immediate or user-friendly to use even though in some cases that also depends on how the organization has customized it.

Better collaboration with Jira

Pros

This product works really well for tracking tasks and handling project management. It helps keep the team organized and makes collaboration much better.

Cons

Getting started with the interface can be a bit overwhelming for beginners and it takes some time to learn and set everything up properly. Because it includes so many features, the platform can feel fairly complex at first.

Wide range of tools

Pros

Comes with a robust set of tools and being able to query reports from past tickets is especially helpful when audit time comes around. It's simple to use and does a solid job of supporting project collaboration.

Cons

One area that could be improved is streamlining shared knowledge base documents for better cross-platform integration. Pricing is about average for the industry compared with similar tools.

Logical interface

Pros

It does an excellent job of keeping projects organized and making task tracking simple. The interface feels natural and it works well whether you're managing a small project or coordinating a large team.

Cons

With smaller teams, it can be difficult to take full advantage of everything the platform offers. It also comes with a lot of features and maintaining a fully built-out project can take quite a bit of time.

easy to submit tickets

Pros

Submitting and keeping up with a ticket was simple and adding extra details or followers to it was easy as well.

Cons

We had a hard time linking tickets together for similar, duplicate or recurring issues. If that feature worked better, it would have made tracking and connecting related issues much easier.

Solid for managing projects

Pros

Across our team, this is the tool we use to manage projects. The features we rely on most are scheduling tasks, submitting bugs and tracking them through to resolution.

Cons

functionality feels more complicated than it needs to be, with some redundant features compared to OpenProject and the pricing is fairly high. A lot of what it offers is also available in free tools. On top of that, the interface isn't user-friendly enough, I still have trouble finding where certain functions are located and often end up using bookmarks just to get back to the pages I need.

Justifies its cost

Pros

it does come at a higher price but for project and team tracking, the value you get makes it worth paying for. The support team is helpful as well even if replies sometimes require a bit of patience. There's definitely a learning curve in the beginning yet once everything starts to make sense, managing tasks feels much more organized. Working together on projects and keeping the whole team aligned is very convenient with the boards and dashboards. Building visual workflows or diagrams is also simple which makes planning and tracking progress much clearer for everyone.

Cons

At the beginning, Jira can feel like a lot to take in because there are so many menus and options to navigate. Setting up workflows or boards also takes a while especially for someone who is not very tech savvy. On top of that even small updates can sometimes require several clicks which can make the process feel slower than it should.

Effective for handling graphic requests

Pros

It has been a very effective platform for handling and organizing all of my graphic requests. It gives me a clear, structured workflow that helps keep every project moving in the right direction and on schedule.

Cons

Although it's generally user-friendly, the collaboration side can feel a little clunky at times. Managing approvals could be more organized since the current process can lead to extra back-and-forth that feels unnecessary.

Extremely adaptable

Pros

Amazing how adaptable it is for handling different types of work. We used it for sprint planning, backlog management and everyday task updates and having everything organized in one place was really valuable. The Scrum and Kanban boards make it simple to check who is working on what and track ticket progress without needing to constantly ask the team. Its integrations with other tools we rely on are also helpful and the reporting dashboards add a lot of value when monitoring team performance and deadlines. There is a bit of a learning curve at first but after using it consistently, it naturally becomes part of the daily routine.

Cons

it can feel quite heavy and complicated especially for people who are new to it. With so many fields, workflows and configuration options even creating or updating a basic ticket can sometimes feel more confusing than it should. Performance is also not always the fastest and there are times when pages take a few extra seconds to load which becomes annoying when handling multiple tickets. On top of that some parts of the interface feel cluttered and would benefit from being more organized.

broad variety of features

Pros

There's a wide range of features and layouts which makes the platform clear to navigate and work with. Being able to link related tickets, build different Kanban boards and customize the fields in each one is something I really appreciate.

Cons

At times, the various menu views can feel a bit confusing and make it easy to lose your place. Other than that, it's a really solid platform.

Perfect for cross-team collaboration

Pros

Working across teams is pretty simple with this ticketing tool. It makes it easy to keep up with requests, check each ticket's status and share whatever documents are needed, whether that's files, images, videos or recordings. Our product team uses it as well to build dashboards for both active and upcoming projects and they post progress updates there which makes everything easier to follow and helps with logging new tasks.

Cons

Overall I don't really have any major complaints. The only small issue is that the interface especially the dashboards, can sometimes feel a bit less user-friendly than expected.

Reliable for project collaboration

Pros

Across our team, it has been extremely helpful for project collaboration and task management. It's a powerful, dependable tool that helps us stay organized and manage projects effectively.

Cons

That said because it's such a powerful platform, there is a bit of a learning curve. New users can find the configuration options and interface somewhat overwhelming at the beginning.

comes with a lot of integrations

Pros

It is incredibly customizable and comes with a huge range of integrations. You can pretty much tailor it to handle whatever workflow you need and connect it with nearly any tool in your stack.

Cons

That flexibility also brings a lot more complexity, along with some performance lag. It doesn't feel as fast or nimble as it once did and most companies I know, including mine, have ended up moving over to Linear.
