Mavenlink's capability to assign time entries to individual project tasks and assign tasks to team members with status updates and completion progress stands out.

Mavenlink only allows one level of sub-tasks to be created under parent tasks. If there was the ability to create further child task levels it would be more useful.

Overall we are very happy with Mavenlink. We would like a higher character limit for text in some notes fields and more Microsoft Office 365 and MS Teams integration capabilities.

After switching to Mavenlink over a year ago our company worked closely with Operations to incorporate new processes during a merge and rebrand. Mavenlink offered more features visuals and an overall better experience than the previous project tracking tool.

Although Mavenlink offers more features there is definitely a learning curve to using it. It did take some time to find places to input hours or track projects and our company still works closely with the Mavenlink team to discover new functionality and learn how to effectively use the software. However overall we would definitely recommend this for any marketing agency.

I do not feel it was used as much as it could have been. My company was not really monitoring use and it was usually used for large projects. I think a lot was skipped over when projects had to close as various employees thought it was hard and a waste to use.

The mobile website and Chrome extension enable field technicians to track time and travel expenses immediately after leaving a site saving time on tracking entries.

Mavenlink did not integrate with our version of Quickbooks which led to us having to double the effort on the accounting side.

It creates a lot of work for project managers. A lot goes into designing a project and filling it out which is very time-consuming. There is also a steep learning curve especially if you are adapting to Mavenlink after being used to different systems. The training was somewhat helpful but long boring and repetitive. While it does keep everything in one place it is difficult to adapt to using it where you would have used email Skype messenger Google Docs etc. especially if you're working with colleagues who are not so technologically savvy.

Connecting with others working on the same project and sharing material is made easy using Mavenlink especially when collaborating with clients.

I found Mavenlink a little confusing to work with. I don't want to have to spend a lot of time learning how a platform works especially if I'm not using it on a regular basis.

I believe the biggest flaw in Mavenlink is the absence of a "real" administrator. Essentially you can be an admin but if a project is set to "Invitation only" you cannot join it unless someone invites you. So being a Mavenlink admin is not like being a Jira admin where you can do anything you want; you are more of an "open projects administrator." The workaround is to have an integration user creating the projects and a good integration with your CRM that allows you to update fields that would be otherwise not accessible. Mind that you can still remove the integration user from the project and at that point the only way to re-enter the project is to ask the project lead to invite you. This should clear any security concerns if your projects require extreme privacy.

Pros

The Kanban board on Mavenlink is excellent standing out for its user-friendly and smooth operation in both small and large projects.

As good as this program is the price per user feels a little much when you compare it to software of similar quality.
