Fantastic Support Team

Pros

This tool provides agency management in one place! I can track projects and tasks, record employee PTO, schedule work to manage capacity, and handle billing all in the same place. Customer support is responsive and immensely helpful, especially in explaining the parts of the tool that apply to areas outside my expertise, like finances.

Cons

The list layout leaves much to be desired in terms of design and organization of information. I would love to see automation and the ability to mark tasks as dependent on or blocked by others come to the tool. The note-taking tool is really basic and not co-write-friendly.

Great tool for us in the web industry

Pros

Productive is a great product that is easy to use with a nice interface. I love the updated design, and we rely most on the project management and time reporting functions, which work really well.

Cons

It is kind of expensive if you have a bigger team. It works well for us since we are a small team.

Great product

Pros

Productive is really great task management software with a good UI. They regularly add features and improve the product. I am a big fan.

Cons

I think a better UI for sales would be good. Overall though, the product is valuable for my team.

Pros

It is still growing. Productive continuously develops new features and keeps evolving. Client support and chat are really nice, and they try to help me within a day.

Cons

Scheduling is still pretty hard for me and I can't track hours on sales efforts for a client without making a project.

Pros

Productive is a future-focused and modern software for agencies.

Cons

It is hard for me to make full use of Productive and some features , such as the sales funnel , don't act enough like a CRM.

It's an OK Product

Pros

It has a great option to track time management per project, which is great for reporting purposes.

Cons

I am the tester for our conversions and there is not a good way for the conversion person and me to see what has not been done on fixes for our conversion and what I need to test. We used Jira for this in the past and it was a much better tool for us in this capacity.

Easy to use and gives a lot of handy insights for a business owner

Pros

This project management tool that provides me with a lot of business insights. I can truly manage my business with one app.

Cons

The ability to easily create a report when an employee goes 'over budget' or 'over estimate' would count as billable hours and not as over-budget hours (those are not billable) but you can create a custom report (takes a couple of minutes) but it would still help me out a lot.

A great tool for agency work

Pros

This is a very powerful tool covering basically all the tasks and processes related to project management, account management, reporting, resource planning, managing the sales pipeline, and many more. It feels very modern and easy to use with really powerful features

Cons

It takes some time for me to really onboard everyone and use it as a day-to-day tool. But that would probably be the case with every new tool introduced to the organization. Thus, not all the features must be used or be introduced at the same time.

Complete product and A+ customer service

Pros

I have used Productive for the past seven months, and it's been very, very helpful. As a project manager, it offers me a great way to keep an eye on my running projects, upcoming deadlines, internal planning, and much more. Besides that, I must say that the customer service offered by Productive is the best I've experienced in my career so far. The team is simply amazing, doing a great job assisting my every need and are more than happy to jump on a video call to help me out when needed. When I asked for help with a financial overview using 'Insights,' they immediately took the liberty to create some overviews to show me what Productive is capable of, which helped me a lot.

Cons

I did not miss a feature. The team is constantly updating Productive as it is, and if I have useful feedback they'll implement this within a few months. It's perfect.

Productive Review

Pros

I think this software offers more useful features than its competitors. The price is great, and I like that I can assign team members and clients to tasks.

Cons

I thought the software was difficult to understand, and so did my team. As the admin, I wish I got more of an overview of everyone in each project. I felt like I had to search a lot to find the information I wanted.

Fatal bugs ruin an otherwise promising product

Pros

In theory, Productive has the perfect set of tools for my modern agency. The powerful project budget tools, including weekly or monthly budgets for retainer clients, make it easy for me to ensure we are utilizing 100% of budgeted time but no more. The reporting tools are very flexible and can easily generate exactly the right data I want, from team utilization to billing to profitability and task completion. Productive was also pretty easy for me to set up, and the UI is very clean, modern, and not clunky at all compared to many competitors.

Cons

There are SERIOUS bugs that totally defeat the purpose of using this product. I have brought all of these to their attention, but they have dragged their heels on fixing them. Here are some of the top bugs, #1: When my team and I log time and go to create an invoice from it, the date for every single time entry is off by one day as it appears on the invoice, versus the date we actually logged that time. We can get the accurate dates with time logs from the reporting module, and when we compare, we see every date on the invoice is incorrect, and our customers start questioning why we logged time on the weekend. #2: When I go to download a custom report made in the report module, e.g., the hours report mentioned in #1, I get a blank PDF. Trying CSV format? Also a blank file, with only the header row filled in, and 0 rows of data. #3: Invoice formatting - if I use Productive with QuickBooks Online, when my invoice syncs over, I end up with some random HTML code as part of the descriptions on each line of the invoice. Have fun manually cleaning these up!

Amazing Customer Service

Pros

I find the breadth and scope of the product impressive. There is a lot of functionality available, and I feel like I have only begun to scratch the surface.

Cons

A great project management tool for us

Pros

For me, it is one of the best options out there, and I recommend it, especially if you want to better understand, analyze, and forecast the profitability per resource, service offered, project, and task. In terms of task management, it works smoothly and easily, like any other premium task manager. The big differentiation for me comes in terms of budget tracking, expenses, and resources overview. In the past 1.5 years since I started using Productive.io, it has helped me see some trends in terms of profitable services and identify which clients or projects are not profitable. This way, I managed to improve the overall performance of my business.

Cons

The onboarding and initial setup can take a bit. Nothing too bad, but I needed a couple of days to get used to the UX.

Productive Is Awesome

Pros

I have been in the advertising marketing business on the operations side for over 25 years. I have seen and used lots of project, financial, and resource management software in my day, and this is by far the best one I've used. It was easy for me to set up, user-friendly, and provides great, actionable data.

Cons

The only con is the way hours are entered into the Resource Scheduling area. It requires manual calculations that are a bit laborious.

Pros

I appreciate Productive's comprehensive feature set, ease of use, tutorial to get familiar with different modules, decent price, customer access options, API for integrations, and responsive support that fixes some bugs really fast.

Cons

Some structure elements may not be an exact match to my business (like with any product). Support is only during business hours, and being a solo entrepreneur, problems d not always happen between 9-5 Monday-Friday. Support could benefit from a ticketing system instead of a chat-based system. The task component has few features when compared with Trello, which is strange for a company that brands itself as "more powerful than Trello and simpler to use than Jira."

Game Changer

Pros

The thing I liked most is the speed and design of the UI/UX alongside the feature set. I have tried most PM tools, and this one covers all that and more to help me run more efficiently and see the data I need.

Cons

I would really have to dig to find something I did not like about the software. Most of the issues fell on me at the beginning with ways I should have been operating my agency before getting on Productive. So really, there is nothing that I dislike.

LOVE. Being able to go from a desktop app to a mobile app with ease is great

Pros

My favorite thing about Productive is being able to organize and personalize my own dashboard layout. I work better when I can make task lists, and Productive allows me to make private lists for myself to use throughout the day.

Cons

I wish this software would allow subtasks under the original task -- sometimes a task is not complete unless multiple subtasks are completed first. This would allow our workflow to move more smoothly.

Professional. Approachable. Friendly. Helpful.

Pros

It brings together time tracking, project management, CRM and sales, financials, and invoicing. One of the cool options for me is the fact that I can use as many or as few features as I need, adjusting the software to my sales and business process, not the other way around. A special hat-tip goes to the support team. They were readily available, helpful, went the extra mile to help out, and even came to my office to do a presentation and training before I signed up for the software. Having been in this industry for more than a decade, I rarely see a support team with so much passion about their product and willingness to explain all the details. Highly recommended!

Cons

On some rare occasions, there are minor issues with synchronization between time entries made from the website, mobile app, and desktop widget. However, when I reported those issues, the team was quick to fix them and continuously offered help.
