automates repetitive tasks

Pros

I rely on this platform every day and find it simple to use. It feels easy to handle and since it's low-code, building and maintaining different applications is not hard. What really stands out is how adaptable it is, you can customize it to fit almost any business requirement. The automation features are my favorite part though. With Pipelines, I've been able to automate so many repetitive tasks and workflows which has saved me countless hours. Their customer support team is also cooperative.

Cons

Sometimes we run into integration challenges with our current processes. The JavaScript functionality is pretty limited too.

easy to connect with external resources

Pros

Found it really simple to get started with, no need for expensive consultants if you have some basic tech skills. The pipeline feature is amazing for connecting to external systems without having to write complex code.

Cons

The minimum 20-seat license feels pretty steep for smaller operations like ours. I'd also appreciate more database connectivity options in the Teams package, many of us rely on SQL and MySQL databases but those connections aren't available at this tier.

Support staff is always available

Pros

I am a big fan of the customization options. I can tweak reports, homepages, dashboards and fields exactly how I want them. With minimal coding, creating colorful alerts for expired items or due dates becomes really simple. Setting up new apps and building tables feels easy even for beginners. As someone who develops apps daily and supports users, it's amazing how quickly I can deliver what people actually need. The flexibility and ease of configuration make this tool satisfying to work with.

Cons

I can't really think of anything negative about this platform. When there are issues or I need enhancements, getting help from the support team is super quick.

Frustrating switch to Pipelines

Pros

The ability to quickly build applications without dealing with complex schemas or SQL relationships is nice. Development feels accessible and efficient this way. Customer support has been a mixed bag for me sometimes I felt rushed so they could close tickets fast but I've also had some really excellent one-on-one sessions with hands-on guidance that made a real difference.

Cons

The switch from Actions and Automations to Pipelines was really frustrating. For months, Pipelines felt incomplete and not ready for prime time. When something breaks, the error handling is terrible and you're often left guessing what actually went wrong. It still feels like a seperate tool bolted onto Quickbase rather than something that belongs there, kind of like a watered-down Power Automate. Also you still can't create variables within the platform which seems like such a basic feature that should exist by now.

Tech support has gone downhill

Pros

I found the platform pretty easy to pick up even without any programming background in C++ or similar languages. Once everything's set up, it runs smoothly with minimal downtime issues. As someone who uses this constantly, building reports and working with it daily, I can say it's been reliable. When I first started with zero experience, the technical support team was really helpful in getting me up to speed.

Cons

Over the 13 years we've been with them, tech support has really gone downhill especially these past 3-4 years. We've cycled through so many account executives it feels like a revolving door. If you're looking to build an app today, forget about it, that's way beyond what their support team can handle, you'd need to bring in your own developer.

Gives you a lot of control

Pros

Setting up tables and getting a proof of concept running is simple. The point-and-click options make designing tables and processes uncomplicated. I really appreciate the clean, tasteful UI design. Creating access roles and their corresponding screens couldn't be simpler. What's particularly impressive is how much control you get, being able to use JavaScript in formulas and having automations hit API endpoints is super awesome.

Cons

There are tons of strange limitations and missing functionality. It can't handle one-to-one table relationships which is pretty basic stuff that should just work. What really bugs me is how they're phasing out features to push you toward paid tiers like with pipelines but then their migration tools don't even function properly so you end up rebuilding everything from scratch. The drag-and-drop interface sounds nice but everything gets buried in nested menus so you constantly have to remember where things are located just to make simple edits.

highly recommended

Pros

I've been working with this platform for several years to handle our capital expenditures and project budgets. The interface feels user-friendly. What really stands out are the extensive customization options that let you organize and pull exactly the data you need. Customer service has been great at helping us implement specific features that organize our daily workflow. I'd definitely recommend it for similar business needs.

Cons

After making changes, it sometimes redirects me to a different page which is annoying. Also I cant preview attachments directly. I have to download them first instead of viewing them in-screen or in a popup. These aren't huge problems but would be nice to see fixed.

Visually attractive interface

Pros

The interface looks attractive and I really appreciate how simple it is to modify fields without needing any coding knowledge. Once everything's configured, tracking where each job stands in the workflow is quite simple.

Cons

The lack of CRM database integration is frustrating and the price point is pretty high for what you get.

offers endless customization options

Pros

The customization options feel limitless. I can build pretty much any data structure or input type I need.

Cons

There's so much packed into this system that it feels too much at first. Definitely not something you can just dive into without putting in time and effort.

can modify reports

Pros

I appreciate the flexibility in creating custom reports from scratch. Being able to modify a report and preview the results before committing changes is really helpful. Having individual logins for everyone in the office ensures daily access for the whole team.

Cons

Our older reports sometimes fail to pull complete information. It feels like certain reports have an expiration date, forcing us to rebuild them from scratch using the exact same parameters.

Reporting feature saves time

Pros

Building custom reports has been a huge time-saver for us and I appreciate how quickly it updates. The reliability is solid most of the time too.

Cons

The sheer scope makes building anything new feel overwhelming with all that complexity. QB structures data so differently from every other tool I've used, it's really hard to figure out how to arrange things properly to create something useful.

we use it for tracking

Pros

Quickbase has been very helpful for managing our organization's client needs. We've set up tracking systems for various purposes and use it for both auditing and client management.

Cons

Support response times have gotten noticeably slower lately. Most of the time I just get a generic "try this link" response that doesn't really help. But when I actually get someone who engages with my specific problem, they usually sort it out pretty quickly.

Works well across devices

Pros

I appreciate how user-friendly the interface is and how simple it makes getting around. There are tons of ways to build custom reports and pull exactly the data you need through simple forms. Plus it works smoothly across desktop, iPad and mobile devices.

Cons

Getting the hang of it took some time and creating really dynamic forms requires diving into coding, not necessarily a dealbreaker but definitely something to keep in mind if you're new to building applications.

Our go-to solution

Pros

The flexibility really stands out to me. Being able to pull data from different sources and connect everything through relationships and formulas makes a huge difference. When I need to visualize information fast, this is my go-to solution.

Cons

The price point is definitely the main drawback. It's just too expensive for alot of smaller companies, even though you do get quality for what youre paying. The pricing structure can be pretty rigid too although they've made some improvements on that front lately.

Hard to populate backend data

Pros

The reports come out in a table format that's really simple to read and interpret.

Cons

Setting up backend data is a real headache especially when you need to add tons of rows, it takes forever and feels like such a chore.

too costly

Pros

I really appreciate how it handles data management without needing any coding skills. The pipeline setup is simple enough that if something happened to me, my team could probably figure it out which definitely wouldn't be the case with more complex alternatives.

Cons

The cost is really high. If my team was more current with modern data solutions, we'd probably go with open source tools and build our own interface since the development costs would pay off quickly compared to what we're spending here. Performance has gotten noticeably slower especially around when the FastField integrations started (cant remember the exact timing). Forms take longer to load now and database transactions don't complete as quickly as they used to.

User-friendly dashboards

Pros

The platform gives me an advanced way to work with data through really user-friendly dashboards and having access to experienced developers who help bring my ideas to life is incredible. After taking just a few courses, I went from being a regular user to building intermediate-level apps myself, it's made me the go-to person for our team's development needs.

Cons

Sometimes scrolling through big data tables gets wonky with the formatting and I end up having to refresh the page or hide some columns just to see or edit what I need to work on.

We use it for maintenance, asset protection, security

Pros

I find the low-code setup convenient which lets us get data collection and reporting up and running fast. We've integrated it across multiple business areas like maintenance, asset protection, security and safety workflows. The forms are really user-friendly and it works great as a backend for our third-party apps making our entire data workflow feel smooth.

Cons

The interface isn't always simple and although training materials exist, they often lag behind the latest software updates. While I appreciate the ongoing site enhancements, they make it challenging to keep documentation current. The recent Pipeline updates have been problematic with occasional outages that though rare, are really annoying when they happen.

ease of customization

Pros

Really simple to customize and build things, even with just basic coding skills. You can actually do it without any coding background at all though you'd need the QB rapid development team to help with formulas and pipelines if you are not familiar with that stuff.

Cons

Tracking data changes is way more complicated than it should be. You have to create custom rules and log everything to seperate fields for each individual piece of data you want to monitor. The audit log tells you something changed but good luck figuring out exactly what was modified and who did it when you actually need that information. The way tables are structured takes some getting used to at first. Setting up many-to-many relationships feels overly complicated and harder to implement than it needs to be.

Free online resources

Pros

Getting familiar with this system is pretty simple. The free online resources at Quickbase University are fantastic. What really impresses me is how versatile the platform is. If you can imagine it, you can probably build it here. The interface for creating apps is user-friendly. Plus there are tons of integration options depending on what your company has access to.

Cons

Getting the hang of building what you want takes some time to figure out.
