R4J Software Features

Flexible Structuring

The platform allows users to bring structure to their requirements management solutions by ordering them in a multi-level hierarchy. Users can easily consolidate artifacts from several projects into a single document tree and transfer folders and issues using the drag-and-drop tool.

Coverage Analysis

R4J software provides complete coverage analysis from high-level requirements to code changes. You can systematically review all project requirements to detect gaps in coverage across multiple hierarchy levels. The defined coverage analysis view can be saved for future use or shared with colleagues.

Reading View

The reading view functionality allows users to visualize their product requirements in document style by expanding and collapsing hierarchical structures. The platform enables engineering teams to navigate the task in the tree and view context details in the reading view.

Baseline And Revisions

Using this feature, users can create snapshots of their current data for milestones, releases, or reviews. Moreover, users can quickly develop baselines to compare the progress of their project through its lifecycle, whether it be incremental or full projects. You can also use the Revisions section in the R4J tree's issue detail view to select a revision, compare it, and copy values.

Traceability Matrix

This feature displays a two-dimensional matrix that shows links between two sets of Atlassian Jira items. Therefore, users can display high-level customer features as rows and their related lower-level functional requirements as columns. Users can also create and delete links. For users of R4J with the Jira Cloud edition, the traceability matrix is currently under development.

An all-in-one solution for us.

Pros

This software really has it all for us. It is a project management software that is an effective solution for our requirement management. It includes a plethora of native add-ons, such as the ability to design custom requirements hierarchies using folders and parent-child structures. Furthermore, it offers complete traceability, requirements change management and change effect analysis.

Cons

With all the features that it offers, it has not had the smoothest interface. The software offers to extend and collapse hierarchical structures in order to see our product requirements in document format but it lags a lot. Managing and visualizing requirement links could also be upgraded. Dependencies must be individually identified, assessed, and managed and it would have been really nice if this was a bit automated.

A decent software indeed.

Pros

Maintains traceability between client requirements, test cases, test runs, and documentation. It is simple to keep everyone involved in requirement management. Makes traceability easy to grasp for everyone. The issue tree view makes it simple to organize and gain an overview. It facilitates all work in JIRA. Export templates for Word and Excel are simple to develop. When you look at all these pros in the end this is all you need to know software is good enough. It covers the basic needs of any company just like it covers ours.

Cons

This is one of those software that really cover their areas well enough to not leave much room for issues. So it is difficult for me to find a drawback. However, the export template error messages could be improved.

Great features, good customer support.

Pros

There isnt a lot of software on the market that makes us feel as secure and looked after as RJ4 has been able to do. Their customer support always has our back whenever we feel the need to make some inquiry. The best thing is how their team talks like they really care and help us out in any given situation. Also, the UI makes managing and tracking requirements within JIRA a breeze. Most software projects use JIRA to track requirements, but struggle with maintaining and organizing them; R4J excels in this area very easily.

Cons

There really is not a lot to complain about the software but every good thing needs tinkering and some suggestions nonetheless. So we do have some recommendations. The ability to declare different versions of requirements could be a useful value addition. As of now, if the requirement changes, we must update the single requirement.
