“Improved communication across our team”
Pros
It has really improved communication across our team, between departments and even throughout the whole organization. The biggest advantage for us is the wide range of integrations which makes day-to-day work much more convenient. We receive notifications directly in our channels from different apps like GitLab, Jira and others. On top of that, with a simple command, we can even update our development servers with the latest changes.
Cons
Honestly, there is not much to complain about. At first, I was not a fan of threaded conversations but over time I realized they are actually a very useful feature.

“Love the 'send later option'”
Pros
Keeping conversations organized across different channels is one of my favorite parts of using it because it helps separate topics really well. The search function is also incredibly useful since I can quickly find past messages or information when I need it. I also really enjoy the send later option for direct messages. Overall, it feels like a wonderful tool and one I genuinely enjoy using across the board.
Cons
The only downside is that logging in is not always very simple and it can sometimes be frustrating to track down where the billing information is located.

“Full-featured tool”
Pros
It has been an awesome communication tool for our team, packed with useful features and plenty of integrations that make daily work much better.
Cons
the free version feels pretty limited and to use it properly in a real work environment, you really have to upgrade to a premium plan.

“Proactive way to stay connected”
Pros
Using the live chat while out in the field has made it much easier to keep the whole team updated and share information right away. It's been a very proactive way to stay connected.
Cons
I'd still like to see a built-in document tool for creating and sharing forms, documents and similar files.

“Impressive functions”
Pros
Beyond the messaging, the audio and video calls, screen sharing and document sharing have been really impressive. Slack does far more than just chat and they keep adding new features that make it even more useful for our work.
Cons
some staff members have trouble connecting. To be fair, it seems more related to their home internet than Slack itself and aside from that, we really haven't had any problems.

“Ability to save messages”
Pros
It handles most of our internal communication and pretty much everyone on the team is in it throughout the workday. We rely on it for messaging, sharing files and even setting statuses like lunch, vacation and other availability updates. One of the most useful parts is the channel setup. You can make channels public or private and with public ones people can join on their own, while private channels can be managed by invitation. That works really well for project-specific discussions and helps keep the interface cleaner than having a bunch of separate group chats especially for long-running teams or ongoing work. Another feature that really helps is being able to save messages or files for personal reference, as well as pin important messages or documents in a chat so everyone can find them later without digging around.
Cons
The free version comes with some pretty noticeable limits. After a certain point, older messages and files are no longer accessible and with the 5GB storage cap plus messages usually disappearing after about a week, conversations can get lost unless you remember to save or pin them. The huddle feature is useful too but on the free plan you can only use it with one other person. On top of that, the paid plan is billed per user each month so costs can add up fast when your team is larger. A monthly plan that covers a set number of users would be a lot more reasonable than charging for every individual person.

“helps me run a marketing agency”
Pros
Running a marketing agency with several teams on the same projects can get messy fast but Slack has been a huge help for us over the past two years. We've really enjoyed how user-friendly the interface is and how practical the overall usability feels. Keeping collaboration organized and documenting everyone's work used to be a challenge and this tool has really helped us stay aligned across the organization much more efficiently. We also rely on it to share large files and documents and it's been useful for tracking tasks as well.
Cons
Notifications do not always work as expected. Sometimes there is a delay and that can end up slowing down deliverables.

Having shared channels creates a real sense of community and it's even better that I can also have one-on-one conversations without leaving the same platform.

“can access it anywhere”
Pros
No matter where I am, it lets me stay in touch with people and share comments or questions without any hassle. It helps those messages reach a wider audience so getting answers to different queries is much quicker. On top of that, it's useful for keeping an eye on team performance and staying updated on ongoing processes.
Cons
Since I began using it, I really haven't come across anything to dislike. I'd definitely recommend it especially because the interface feels a lot like social media which makes it very clear and simple to use.

“My go-to since long”
Pros
Since 2018, it has been my go-to for staying in touch with teammates. The huddles are really handy whenever a quick conversation is needed and the app is very simple to use. It works especially well for group communication and I usually get responses pretty quickly too.
Cons
It's a really solid tool but it still helps to check how people prefer to communicate. Some team members, for example, would rather keep certain conversations in email instead of using chat.

“Videoconferencing is a bonus”
Pros
It has a very user-friendly interface and the way it lets you create channels for teamwork is really useful. It's also very helpful to have videoconferencing and calling built into the platform and the integration with other apps like Google Drive makes daily work much more convenient.
Cons
If you want to add a new colleague to an existing chat, Slack creates a new conversation instead so that person can't see the previous discussion which can be inconvenient when you want them to catch up on what was already talked about.

“Makes link sharing convenient”
Pros
Setting up separate private channels for the right teammates is really useful and helps keep conversations focused. It also makes sharing well-formatted documents, files, code and links very convenient. I also appreciate the notifications for both direct messages and channel messages and the ability to connect external apps like Zoom, Calendar and others adds a lot of value.
Cons
Configuring guest accounts can be a bit tricky at times. Search results are not always as clear as they should be and Huddle, the calling feature, does not always perform as reliably as I expected.

“Quick to get the hang of”
Pros
Getting started with it doesn't take long because the interface is very user-friendly and simple to understand. It also makes sharing important documents with the team really convenient. On top of that, it helps everyone stay updated on ongoing projects and keeps team communication active.
Cons
A priority feature that would let you highlight or assign the most important tasks to your team would be nice. Another downside is message search since finding a specific conversation can take some effort and usually works best when you type the exact words you're looking for.
