“Team communication that boosts morale”
Pros
It keeps me connected with my team all day long and that constant communication really helps improve morale, productivity and overall efficiency.
Cons
The developers continue to make useful improvements like better ways to attach pictures and documents and keep files organized within the platform. I honestly don't have any complaints.

“Easy to build a sense of community”
Pros
It does a really good job of keeping work and home life feeling separate thanks to its channel structure. Being able to set up private channels inside a workspace also makes it easier to build a sense of community. File sharing is convenient and the notification settings are especially impressive.
Cons
When a notification comes through on one device like a laptop, it doesn't always get pushed to another device such as a phone.

“Efficient to use”
Pros
Keeping up with team members and managers in real time has been really helpful. Instant notifications come through right away and the whole platform feels quick and efficient to use.
Cons
The part that has been the most frustrating is the mobile app. I've tried downloading and using it before but it never seems to work properly and I've had a lot of trouble with it.

“channels can be public or private!”
Pros
Within the company, it lets us create channels and keep conversations organized. Those channels can be public, private or shared which makes collaboration much more convenient.
Cons
Conversations are removed after 14 days and the file storage it offers is quite limited.

“Cuts down on number of meetings”
Pros
Working in a remote-first company feels much more connected with Slack. It keeps all of our communication in one place and makes collaboration much simpler. Being able to send videos, audio messages and jump into huddles has been especially helpful and it has actually cut down the number of meetings we need.
Cons
Constant notifications and number of channels can easily pull your attention away. That said, once those settings are configured properly, it becomes much more manageable. Another frustration is finding a specific message or file since the search function doesn't feel very user-friendly.

“To us, this is the only way of communication within a team”
Pros
I use it for quick huddles to solve a mini-problem my employee has or for proper meetings with the entire team. All the time!
Cons
It is just that Slack can be very intrusive sometimes but that can be solved by just muting it.

“Remote teamwork made effortless”
Pros
Working remotely feels much more organized with this. I use it across several different teams and it has made both communication and workflow so much better. Sharing files, assigning tasks and keeping track of what everyone is working on is really simple. With everyone on our teams working from home, staying connected and communicating with each other has honestly never been this convenient.
Cons
An area that could be better is how it fits in with tools like Google Workspace. I get that they're separate products but having a more smooth way to handle emails and related tasks within the workflow would be really helpful. That said, it's a pretty minor issue overall.

“Plenty of useful integrations”
Pros
I value how well it works with third-party tools like Figma, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Todo, Jira and GitHub Notifier, along with plenty of others. The search is also noticeably faster than many other team chat platforms which makes finding past conversations much easier. On top of that, the huddle feature is really useful for connecting with teammates quickly especially with screen sharing included.
Cons
The interface could definitely use some improvement. It feels like too many features are packed in, including things that not everyone actually needs and that adds unnecessary complexity. It would be much better if there were settings to turn certain features on or off, with non-essential ones disabled by default.

“Screen sharing works well”
Pros
It feels very user-friendly overall. The video conferencing works really well and the huddles are just as reliable. Screen sharing has been especially helpful while working from home and I really appreciate that the other person can point directly at the screen. That extra feature makes it much easier to understand exactly where to look during a call.
Cons
Something that doesn't always work properly is the Outlook integration. It updates my status based on my Outlook meetings but if I'm already on an IT call at the time my Outlook status is supposed to change, it doesn't switch the status correctly.

“Enjoyable and full-featured”
Pros
Simple to use, enjoyable and packed with really useful features. It helps our team communicate quickly and efficiently, while also giving us space for team-building and engagement activities. Huddles and instant screen sharing make it easy to jump into conversations with teammates without needing to switch over to another tool like Zoom or Google Meet.
Cons
Every now and then some users run into issues getting huddles or screen sharing to work the way they should.

“Trial version available”
Pros
Slack connects well with a lot of other online platforms which really helps keep everything in one place. It makes teamwork much easier, offers plenty of flexibility and the interface feels user-friendly to use. There's also a trial version available and the monthly subscription is very affordable.
Cons
At this point, it feels almost perfect to use and I haven't come across any drawbacks so far.

“Jira integration is a standout”
Pros
One of the things I enjoyed most was the Jira integration. Being able to create, review and edit issues directly from team channels was really useful and overall the add-ons were what attracted me the most throughout my time using it.
Cons
The mobile navigation layout is what I liked least. It's awkward to use on Android 12 with custom navigation because swiping from the edge sends you back instead of opening the left-side menu.

“Powerful search and simple design”
Pros
Right from the start, the interface felt very simple and the search feature is easily the best I've used. I don't have to open a specific channel or dig through a particular person's messages just to find a word. It brings up everything.
Cons
free plan keeps the message history very limited. At times, important conversations would be gone within a week simply because we were using it so heavily.

“Team communication powerhouse”
Pros
Compared with relying on email alone, it does a much better job of keeping teams connected, sharing updates and collaborating in one place. It's an incredibly popular workplace messaging app used by millions every day and that popularity makes sense because it works well for group communication. Messages, files and even emojis can be shared with coworkers or clients which makes conversations feel more immediate and organized. It's also a strong option for working together on large files inside the same workspace. With millions of daily active users and wide adoption across companies, it has clearly become one of the go-to platforms for team communication and collaboration.
Cons
There is a lack of customization for a team's workspace. Things like channel design or background colors can't really be adjusted to better match specific preferences or team needs. It's also better for broadcasting updates than for deeper collaboration. Brainstorming, handling confidential information or making decisions doesn't always feel like its strongest use case and getting one person's attention can sometimes be harder than it should be.

“Threads and quick replies shine”
Pros
Threads are really helpful because they let me respond in a separate window and cut down on all the unnecessary chatter. The wide selection of emojis also makes conversations feel more interactive and natural. Another feature I enjoy is the ready-to-send message option which helps me send preset messages very quickly.
Cons
What gets frustrating is having to sign in every single time I want to add a new workspace since it takes extra time and effort. I also regularly run into glitches and errors that stop the app from launching and that issue still hasn't been resolved. On top of that, the message storage is limited and once the limit is reached, older messages get deleted automatically without any warning.

“Quicker than email”
Pros
Communication across teams and countries in my organisation is incredibly fast with it. It feels much quicker than email and sharing documents, controlling access and keeping everything in one place is far more convenient. Searching across channels for a specific issue is also really fast which saves a lot of time. I also appreciate being able to create channels for specific topics, tag colleagues when needed and pull the right people into conversations. The Google Drive integration is especially useful because I can share a link in a channel and access can be granted without having to manually add everyone one by one. On top of that, sending messages to myself as reminders is handy, calling people directly in the app is useful and threaded replies help keep conversations organised. It creates a clear, accessible record of discussions, issues and collaboration in a way that feels much more organized than email. Adding colleagues into channels when necessary, managing Jira tickets and quoting messages are all features I use a lot. Overall, it's brilliant.
Cons
There are only a few minor issues for me. I'd really like proper notifications for selected channels because right now I'm usually only alerted when someone tags me directly. When I'm busy working, it's not realistic to keep checking channels constantly in case something important was posted without mentioning me. Another frustrating point is that when I create a group chat and then add someone later, the earlier messages disappear. My self-messages for notes can also get messy because they aren't separated clearly enough. Thread notifications don't always seem reliable either and I'd prefer to be alerted every time someone replies in a thread I've participated in. Lastly, adding emojis could be more convenient since having to open the emoji picker every time is a bit annoying especially when I want to add more than one quickly.
