“Huddles make things easy”
Pros
Huddles let me hop on a quick call without needing to set up a Zoom link and screen sharing makes collaboration really convenient.
Cons
Reading messages on my phone and then forgetting which channel they were in is annoying.

“Only needs email”
Pros
Getting started with it is very simple since it's tied only to your email. Conversations can be organized into channels which makes it simple to keep a clear record of tasks and communication across different teams within the same company.
Cons
its user base is still fairly limited so whenever someone new joins, you often have to show them how everything works. It also doesn't offer voice messaging.

“Handles what I need”
Pros
It is quick, simple to use and handles most of what I need every day to communicate with my project teams.
Cons
The only thing I'd really like to see is lifetime chat history included in the free version since that's currently limited to paid users.

“Effortless connection”
Pros
Searching for topics that were discussed before is really simple and it does a great job of keeping our teams connected without much effort.
Cons
It doesn't happen often but when Slack goes down, the whole day gets pretty difficult since we depend on it so heavily.

“One-click team communication”
Pros
Being able to communicate with the team and share asset files with colleagues from one place to another in just one click is easily the best part of using it. It makes collaboration feel smooth and keeps everything in one central place without any hassle.
Cons
Almost everything about this tool is excellent and there is very little to complain about. The only downside is the file size limit when sharing files which can occasionally cause a bit of trouble.

“organized chats we love”
Pros
Keeping up with my team is really convenient on this platform and the way conversations are organized makes everything much easier to follow. I ended up recommending it to my family for our own group communication and we've been loving it there too.
Cons
The virtual calling experience isn't my favorite part. I'm much more used to Zoom so I keep expecting it to work the same way. That said, the meeting highlighter is actually better here than on Zoom. I really appreciate that the highlights disappear on their own after a few seconds instead of having to manually erase them.

“GitHub and Asana integrations”
Pros
Beyond the obvious instant messaging, the wide range of integrations is one of the biggest strengths here and I'd say that applies to pretty much any team, not just ours. We rely on the GitHub and Asana integrations the most and they've been especially useful.
Cons
Screen sharing isn't available on the free plan though to be fair, that limitation is understandable.

“simple to get around”
Pros
It feels very user-friendly to use and getting around the app is simple. It also works really well across different organizations and connects nicely with a wide range of other apps. On top of that, having a free plan available is definitely a big plus.
Cons
users are a bit restricted on the free plan but that's pretty standard and honestly to be expected rather than a real downside.

“Enables quick communication between departments”
Pros
Across our organization, it has been really useful for quick communication between departments, assigning tasks, sharing updates company-wide and managing client conversations and projects. The huddle feature is also a big plus since anyone can jump on a call anytime and share their screen to explain work virtually which helps avoid miscommunication across channels and workspaces.
Cons
Older chats become unavailable after about a week if you're not using the paid version. Group notifications also don't always appear on time and sometimes they only show up after opening the channel.

“Pleased with our decision”
Pros
Our company definitely made the right call choosing this software instead of something like WhatsApp which would have blurred the line between personal and work life. It's very user-friendly to use and it makes reaching out to colleagues really convenient whenever you need help. Another big advantage is how many different tools it connects with like Google Calendar, Drive and Zapier.
Cons
Joining a new workspace involves a few too many steps so that part could be more simple.

“We enjoy its simplicity”
Pros
Right away, the simplicity of the product makes it enjoyable to use. It also offers integrations that can expand what it can do, while the core features remain simple, practical and reliable.
Cons
The free plan comes with quite a few limitations. A lot of the really useful features are only available in the paid version which makes the platform feel much more complete once you upgrade.

“A lot to appreciate about it”
Pros
There's a lot to appreciate here. The range of formatting options is impressive especially when I compare it to other chat tools I've used before like Google Hangouts. Channels make collaboration across different teams and organizations really convenient and having chat history saved and fully searchable is a huge benefit.
Cons
I don't have any real complaints. It works extremely well with our internal systems and the Salesforce, Jira and Zoom integrations have all been reliable while helping simplify a lot of our workflows.

“Multiple teams can collaborate”
Pros
Working with a team feels much more connected with Slack especially in a workplace environment. It makes communication with coworkers really convenient and multiple teams can collaborate by using separate workspaces. One thing I really appreciate is being able to stay involved in several discussions at once instead of being stuck in one physical meeting at a time. Notifications come through instantly and the settings can be customized well enough that you're not constantly interrupted when you don't want to be. There are plenty of ways to communicate naturally too, including direct messages, threads, group chats and channels. On top of that, features like emojis, huddles, message shortcuts and mentions make conversations feel more interactive and practical. The mobile app is also helpful because it keeps you connected when you're away from your desk. Messages can include attachments, screenshots, links, audio and video clips which makes sharing information much easier. If needed, video calls are available as well. Another big plus is that messages are hard to miss since new ones appear as soon as you open the app when it suits you and important messages can be bookmarked. The search function is also very useful because you can dig through the full message history to find files or conversations and it even keeps a record of previous searches.
Cons
At the same time, Slack can become overwhelming if your notification preferences or other settings are not configured properly because it's very easy to get buried under a huge volume of messages. I also don't love that there isn't really a timeline view where messages are clearly sorted by date and time in a chronological way. While the free version includes a lot, the platform's full value really shows up only on the paid plans and those can get expensive quickly since pricing is based on the number of users which is a concern for bigger companies. Another issue is that having too many channels creates mental clutter and adds a lot of noise for users. I've also heard concerns that the mobile version may be missing some safety features.

“Reliable chat with rich integrations”
Pros
It has been a solid choice for real-time communication. It comes with plenty of plugins, feels like the industry standard and is simple to use. The keyboard shortcuts are also really helpful and make day-to-day work faster.
Cons
A few of the plugins are not completely reliable. We use the GitHub plugin and there are times when notifications do not appear. The Mac desktop app also feels fairly heavy.
