Top professional messaging app

Pros

It is easily the best professional messaging app I've used. The way information is organized, the range of integration options and the constant product improvements all make it feel like a platform built to be the best it can be.

Cons

Notifications can get a bit overwhelming sometimes especially in bigger workspaces with lots of channels. Search could be more user-friendly, the mobile app occasionally feels slower than the desktop version and the pricing can be pretty steep for smaller teams.

Responsive support team

Pros

Right away, it feels very user-friendly to use. Creating channels and threads comes naturally and it does a good job of keeping conversations organized. The support team has also been responsive whenever help was needed. It connects really well with other tools too especially Google Drive for sharing documents and storing files. On top of that, it offers plenty of flexibility and customization options.

Cons

Search feature doesn't always work the way you want it to.

Lets you create templates

Pros

It lets you create and save templates and it also includes to-do lists that can be shared with other people right inside the platform.

Cons

It still lacks integration with different mailboxes like Outlook which would make it possible to create meetings directly within it.

Great for accountability

Pros

Across our 3 clinics, it makes it really simple to share files and keep communication flowing. Another thing I appreciate is that everyone has to be signed in under their own name which adds a nice sense of accountability.

Cons

There really is not much I dislike about it but I would love to see a feature that shows when someone has read a message.

Preserves discussion threads

Pros

Keeping conversations organized across teammates, partners and different projects is much more manageable with it. It does a really good job of preserving discussion threads and the integrations with major tools like Google Drive and Dropbox feel very smooth which makes storing and sharing files simple. The pricing also feels very fair considering how much functionality is included.

Cons

Although it includes a broad range of built-in project management features some of them feel fairly average and are handled better by more specialized tools. I'd rather see them put more effort into making certain functions stronger instead of trying to cover too many areas at once.

Simple to get the hang of

Pros

It has been a really useful communication tool for our team, with separate channels for group conversations and file sharing all in one place. It's fairly simple to get the hang of and different teams across the business can use it at the same time for multiple tasks without getting in each other's way.

Cons

Getting started can feel a bit confusing if there's no proper training or guidance on how to navigate it. It's available both in a web browser and through the app but moving around the platform feels more simple in the browser version.

Not hard to get started

Pros

Getting started with this tool takes almost no effort, just sign in and you can begin using it right away. It does a really nice job with shared, private and group conversations and setting up different channels is fast and simple. The pricing feels fair and quite affordable for the value it offers. File sharing is quick and doesn't affect quality which is a big plus. I also appreciate the customizable notification settings and the audio and video calls run smoothly without interruptions.

Cons

group messages only allow a certain number of people so once that maximum is reached, you have to create a channel instead.

Well-organized interface

Pros

It has a very well-organized interface, works reliably on both desktop and mobile and offers the kind of features that make it especially valuable for remote and hybrid teams. It really helps boost productivity while keeping everyone connected and aligned.

Cons

The constant flow of messages and updates can sometimes feel overwhelming. That can create distractions and make it harder to stay focused or figure out which tasks should take priority.

Comes with a lot of benefits

Pros

Between the pricing, responsive customer support, user-friendly setup and the way it handles file sharing and storage, it has been a really worthwhile tool to use.

Cons

When I used it in a call center, it did run into a few bugs and issues. We also needed something a bit simpler for our employees to work with.

Customer support is easy to reach

Pros

Right away, it felt very user-friendly. The interface is simple to follow and sharing files is really convenient since you can just drag and drop whatever you want to send. It's also quick to find older conversations because the search feature works reliably. Problems hardly ever come up and on the rare occasion they do, customer support is very accessible and easy to reach.

Cons

It does connect with certain apps, like poll tools but responses to those polls are limited to only a set number of answers.

Cuts down on email overload

Pros

It gives us real-time messaging, organized channels for team conversations and direct messages which really helps cut down on email overload. The option to keep channels public or private also makes collaboration much more flexible.

Cons

Constant notifications can break your concentration if you don't adjust the settings and in very active channels, important messages can sometimes get lost in the stream.

Powerful team communication tool

Pros

Slack has been a really powerful tool for team communication. It also makes file sharing simple and keeps everyone updated on project progress. On top of that, I really appreciate that the pricing is affordable.

Cons

It has been working very well for us. We haven't run into any negative issues with it even after using it for more than two years.

Quick messaging anywhere

Pros

Being able to send messages fast is really useful and having the mobile app means I can still keep up with conversations when I'm away from my desk.

Cons

You can't use @here when replying in a thread under a comment. In that situation, inside the same channel, it usually only lets you mention the specific person you're replying to.

One-stop shop for communication

Pros

Whether it's coordinating a film festival, staying connected with a church group or handling travel work in a corporate environment, Slack has been a reliable all-in-one place for communication with both small and large teams. It's simple to navigate and the file-sharing feature makes collaboration much more convenient.

Cons

it isn't free and some features are locked behind a paid plan. On the occasions when I used the unpaid version, it felt pretty limited and left out tools that would have been useful.

Easy to switch between companies

Pros

Switching between different companies is much more simple which makes it really convenient to manage multiple businesses from a single app. In my case, that's a big advantage. Another thing I appreciate is how well it integrates with other apps.

Cons

Getting a call when my earphones aren't connected yet bothers me. If I answer right away, a lot of the time Slack doesn't recognize them and I usually have to restart it before the earphones work properly. That's especially frustrating when the call is important.

Extensive set of features

Pros

Love using it because the interface is very user-friendly. It's simple to navigate, offers a lot of useful features and the different channels make communication much more organized. It really helps bring teams together and makes collaboration feel much more efficient.

Cons

I honestly don't have any complaints about using it. The only concern worth mentioning is that some people may have lost confidence in the platform because of the recent security breach.

Unmatched team communication tool

Pros

It has been unbeatable for team communication. We even used it during recruitment and the way tasks can be assigned so smoothly is on another level. It helped us coordinate across 5 teams and deliver excellent results in a very short time.

Cons

There's nothing serious to complain about though there were a few occasions when the servers went down briefly and we couldn't access certain files. Still, it wasn't a major issue and everything was resolved.

Made a big difference for us

Pros

I appreciate how organized it keeps communication especially when working with other departments across the workplace. It has really made a big difference in our productivity and overall collaboration.

Cons

I haven't run into any issues so far. Slack has been one of our main communication tools for handling guest concerns and inquiries and it does that job really well. It's a powerful platform that keeps everyone aligned and up to date because communication through it is so simple.

Works flawlessly on desktop and mobile

Pros

Using it has been incredibly simple. Both the desktop and mobile apps work flawlessly which makes real-time communication with staff in different locations simple, helps us collaborate with people outside our immediate team and lets us connect other tools to improve efficiency even more.

Cons

Honestly, I don't really have any complaints. My team is on the free version so we're not taking advantage of the complete set of features available but it still gives us more than enough for our day-to-day communication.
