“Accessible and capable”
Pros
it has been a real win for me. I used to think it was a more niche tool meant mostly for marketers or project managers but after trying it, I realized it's actually very accessible and does a lot more than WhatsApp or Telegram.
Cons
The free version puts a lot of limits on team collaboration. Working together with several people on a shared view was not possible and sometimes the invitation links didn't work.

“Centralized team communication”
Pros
Keeps all of our team communication in one place which has really reduced those long back-and-forth email threads. Being able to organize conversations by topic is also a big plus and it makes finding information later much more simple.
Cons
The mobile app feels a bit less user-friendly though. In some situations, gestures like swiping right or going back can be awkward and not as user-friendly as they should be.

“Custom alerts and private chats”
Pros
We find it easy to handle. One thing we appreciate is being able to add only the specific people needed to a conversation instead of involving the entire company every time. The variety of notification sounds is also a nice touch since it lets each person customize alerts in a way that suits them. Sharing files is simple on both the sending and downloading side and it also makes it convenient to send pictures.
Cons
We really have not run into any downsides with it. It has been working very well for our business needs.

“We love it!”
Pros
Honestly, there's very little not to enjoy about it. It makes communication across the team much quicker and a lot more efficient. We hardly ever run into bugs or technical problems and every integration I've tried has worked reliably.
Cons
I really don't have any complaints about it. Problems almost never come up and on the rare occasion they do, the support team responds quickly and handles it well.

“Huddles is a useful feature”
Pros
It does a really good job of keeping conversations separated across different groups which makes team communication feel much more organized. The real-time features especially huddles, are also a big plus and make it convenient to connect quickly when needed.
Cons
The interface packs a lot of information into one place so it can feel a bit dense at times. That said, the AI overviews they introduced do help make everything more manageable.

“Fun and engaging”
Pros
Keeps you connected with people across the organization in a way that feels fun and engaging instead of stiff or boring.
Cons
My biggest frustration is with saving something to revisit later. I can mark a conversation but there isn't really an effective reminder or trigger that helps me actually return to it when I need to.

“Handy task tracking”
Pros
Keeping in touch with my clients online through Slack helps a lot when issues need quick attention. It also works well for letting clients assign specific tasks that need to be completed.
Cons
Some features can be a bit difficult to locate though I think that has more to do with how the account is set up by the account owner than with the actual Slack support team or the program itself.

“Effective team communication”
Pros
Team communication feels quick, structured and efficient with it. Channels help keep conversations on topic, integrations make day-to-day workflows more convenient and the clean interface makes collaboration simple across different devices.
Cons
It can get distracting with nonstop notifications and a high volume of messages. In busy channels, important information can also end up getting buried pretty quickly.

“Helpful AI summary feature”
Pros
The AI summary feature has been really useful for getting through long threads much faster. Real-time messaging also keeps my projects moving without delays.
Cons
One thing to watch out for is notifications, without pretty strict control over them, it can start to feel like you're constantly trying to catch up.

“Good resource for distributed teams”
Pros
It has been an excellent resource for distributed teams. It's very user-friendly, simple to use, offers a wide range of chat features and capabilities and integrates really well with several IT tools.
Cons
I don't have any complaints on my end. I've been an active user for more than 10 years and have had a successful experience with both the premium and free versions.

“Ensures with real-time communication”
Pros
Slack has been a huge help for keeping our company in constant, real-time communication. The notifications show up right away and do a good job of grabbing your attention when something needs to be handled quickly. I also really enjoy features like polls and the fun channels which make teamwork feel a lot more engaging.
Cons
The free version is fantastic but the paid plan can start to feel expensive depending on how large your team is. On top of that, having so many channels can sometimes get a bit overwhelming to keep up with.

“Can personalize channel names”
Pros
I really enjoy being able to personalize channel names and send GIFs which makes conversations feel more fun and organized. It's also really helpful that my status can update automatically based on my Outlook calendar so people can quickly see when I'm available.
Cons
The status sync with Outlook doesn't always work correctly and sometimes it fails to show that I'm in a meeting.

“All communication in one place”
Pros
Keeping team communication in one place makes a huge difference and Slack does that really well. The channel setup felt very organized which made conversations easier to follow and the integrations with tools like Google Drive and Zoom helped save a lot of time. Sharing files is simple, the search feature is a real lifesaver when trying to find old messages and the app feels user-friendly on both desktop and mobile.
Cons
At the same time, it can start to feel overwhelming when there are too many channels and constant notifications coming in. The free plan's limited message history is also a downside. On top of that, there are times when the status does not automatically update when a meeting begins in Google Meet.

“My favorite tool”
Pros
Across several companies and businesses, it has consistently been one of the tools I've enjoyed using most. The interface feels very simple and it gives everyone in the organization a smooth way to stay connected without needing to hand out personal phone numbers. Our team also uses the huddle feature a lot for quick meetings. Since about 75% of our employees work remotely, it really helps us collaborate well as a team. It's also helpful being able to quickly see who is in meetings, who has read messages and to have a shared space for file storage.
Cons
Message search should be improved. It can be difficult to track down specific keywords or team-shared information unless you already know roughly when it was posted.

“Has everything I need”
Pros
Between the strong search, direct messages, channels, app integrations, built-in schedules and calendars and status updates, Slack covers just about everything I need. Being able to organize my channels into folders is a feature I especially appreciate.
Cons
I honestly don't have much to complain about. The only occasional issue is with huddles, usually when my computer doesn't detect my headphones properly.

“My go-to for chats”
Pros
Throughout most of my career, it has been the platform I've relied on the most. Because I worked directly with clients, it became our go-to tool for communication, day-to-day chats and business notifications.
Cons
Automatic scheduled message feature ended up being overused in one of our notification channels and I'd really like to see more options beyond just scheduling a message.

“Helps with knowledge sharing”
Pros
It has been a really convenient way to communicate and share files with one person, a group or even the whole company. It has also helped a lot with knowledge sharing across our organization.

“Easy to look up stuff”
Pros
Having everything documented in our store channel has been really helpful especially when we need to go back and check something later for reference. It also keeps all of our work communication in one place which is much better than digging through personal text messages on my phone.
Cons
The interface didn't feel very user-friendly to me. Even basic things, like adding users to channels, were harder than they should have been.
