Great for tracking projects

Pros

Keeping up with different internal groups and projects is pretty simple and it helps me stay connected with my remote team.

Cons

At times, certain projects and tasks get buried under all the notifications and it can be hard to track down comments where I was mentioned.

Fast responses with Slack

Pros

With coworkers based in different countries, it makes it simple to share client-related information and keep everyone aligned. When too many emails are going around, it helps people respond much faster to whatever is most urgent.

Cons

I genuinely enjoy using it and honestly don't have anything I dislike. I use it every day and having separate chat rooms for each department in the company is really helpful.

Excellent user experience

Pros

Getting started with it is simple and the interface and controls feel very user-friendly. Our teams rely a lot on channels and threaded replies to stay coordinated and keep everyone aligned.

Cons

Some of the app integrations could definitely do more. For example, it would be helpful to send ClickUp updates directly into specific channels.

No trouble figuring it out

Pros

It has been a really useful tool for team collaboration especially with the large number of integrations it offers. It's very simple to use and nobody on the team has had any trouble figuring it out.

Cons

It feels a bit expensive for a chat platform. Other than the pricing, I honestly can't think of any other downsides.

Brilliant design

Pros

Feels like a well-designed professional communication tool. It brings together chat, file sharing and integrations with the other software you already use which makes day-to-day collaboration really practical.

Cons

I still can't figure out how to view the actual message content or any other item tied to the notification, when I receive those alerts by email.

Interactive messaging

Pros

I really enjoyed how quickly communication happens and how interactive the messaging feels. The cross-functional compatibility with other programs also helps a lot with efficiency and keeps project management more aligned across teams.

Cons

AI assistant can be better. It would be better if it were more user-friendly and could help format channels, DMs and groups faster.

Keeps improving

Pros

Quite simple to learn and it keeps improving with new tools and integrations all the time. A lot of other apps end up feeling unnecessary now since we can handle things like huddle video calls directly in Slack.

Cons

The workflow templates could definitely be broader and offer more variety because the current selection feels pretty limited. It's also not very simple to find the help information when you need it.

Doesn’t require any training

Pros

It has been an outstanding communication tool for our organization. It's very simple to use so it barely requires any training at all. On top of that, the customer support team always responds to our messages right away.

Cons

Honestly, I haven't come across anything to dislike about it. It has performed consistently well and has been running very smoothly since we started using it.

Reasonable pricing

Pros

Slack has been an excellent tool for meetings and day-to-day communication. It keeps everything across our organization running efficiently and the pricing is very affordable as well.

Cons

I don't have any complaints about it. It has been working reliably for more than three years and our team genuinely loves using it.

Huge timesaver

Pros

Creating channels takes almost no time and it's simple to add the teammates working on the same project so everyone can communicate in one place. It saves a lot of time, keeps information flowing to the right people and cuts down on all the extra noise.

Cons

Setting up and turning off automations could definitely be more simple. The iOS sharing option is also pretty buggy since I have to sign in, unlock both my phone and the app and then look up the workplace I'm already logged into just to find the people I want to send a file to.

Can create lists for staff

Pros

Keeping up with my coworkers is really simple with this especially since our whole team works remotely. I also appreciate being able to create lists that everyone on staff can see and update together. Also, it works really well for meeting with each other too.

Cons

Would be nice having a way to duplicate a message so it can be posted or added directly into another channel.

Covers the core features

Pros

It covers the core features you'd expect from a communication tool, including messaging, file sharing and even calling. It runs reliably across different platforms too, whether that's Windows android or Linux. The free plan is also perfectly adequate as long as you don't need to go back and access older messages.

Cons

Whenever the app loads, it opens on an old message instead of the latest one. That means I have to scroll all the way down to catch up and even the "jump to today" button doesn't seem to fix it. From what I've seen, this has been a common issue for quite some time and still hasn't been resolved. Another annoyance is the lack of a clear "mark all as read" button. Having to rely on a keyboard shortcut for that feels unnecessary and really shouldn't be the only way to do it.

Useful integrations

Pros

Chatting with the team happens in real time which makes communication quick and convenient. The channel setup keeps conversations organized and it also connects nicely with tools such as Google Drive and Zoom.

Cons

If you're part of a lot of channels, the number of notifications can become overwhelming. It gets distracting at times and important messages can be hard to keep up with.

smooth cross-team communication

Pros

It has been a amazing tool for keeping communication smooth, not just among individual team members but across teams and even between different companies. Setting up shared channels with clients, vendors or contractors is very simple and it makes quick communication through chat or huddles feel effortless.

Cons

Even with how versatile it is, a few areas can still be frustrating. Configuring add-ons or setting up custom integrations can feel tedious and not always very user-friendly. On top of that, depending on how your team uses Slack some messages or conversations can be difficult to search for later or reference when needed.

Appreciate the workflow builder

Pros

Keeping in touch across the company is really simple with it. It makes it easy to separate departments and conversations into the right spaces and I particularly value the workflow builder especially when it connects with Google Sheets for internal submissions.

Cons

One thing I'd still like to see is a better way to prioritize certain chats or notifications because coming back from holiday can feel even more overwhelming than dealing with an email inbox. The newer AI summary feature has definitely helped with that though and it makes me hopeful about future updates.

Lets me stay in touch with several people

Pros

Quite user-friendly. Sharing files is simple, it rarely runs into bugs or problems and it makes it easy to stay in touch with several people at the same time.

Cons

I honestly do not have many complaints since it is very user-friendly. If I had to point out one thing, it would be that communication updates do not always sync quickly enough across all of my devices.

Our preferred communication tool

Pros

It is incredibly simple to use which is a big reason it has become the top communication tool in our organization. On top of that, the customer support team is consistently quick to respond whenever we need help.

Cons

Cant complain about it. It has been performing reliably ever since we set it up and we are excited to see what future updates will bring.

Budget-friendly option for team communication

Pros

It has been a budget-friendly option for team communication and it comes with a really practical interface. Features like drag and drop make everything feel simple and convenient to use.

Cons

Up to this point, everything has been going really well. It has easily been the best tool I've used so far and I honestly don't have any complaints about it. I'm just looking forward to seeing what updates come next.

Easy to pick up

Pros

This software feels very user-friendly right from the start and doesn't take much effort to get comfortable with. It fits a wide variety of users across our organization, whether someone is just using it like a replacement for texting or relying on it for deeper project collaboration and file sharing.

Cons

Group huddles could be a bit more powerful so we could handle larger meetings there instead of needing to switch over to Zoom.

Highly flexible

Pros

Hands down, this is the best team communication app I've used. I genuinely can't picture switching to anything else. One of the biggest advantages is how flexibly it can be set up to match the way your business works. It connects with all the other apps we rely on in our workflows, no matter which company I'm working with and with the newer project management tools, it really feels like everything can live in one place. Amazing.

Cons

I don't really have any complaints. If I had to mention one tiny thing, it would be that I sometimes can't find the exact emoji I want since it doesn't include all of the Apple ones by default. That said, I love that you can upload your own custom emojis to the workspace which makes it really fun anyway.
