“Lovely features”
Pros
Between direct messages, group chats and integrations with tools like Google Suite, it fits really well into day-to-day work. Being able to upload documents and preview them right in the conversation is especially useful. The app is simple to get into, feels user-friendly to navigate and the added integrations, like Polly, make it even more helpful. We also started using the canvas feature this year and it's been a nice way to keep shared notes and updated team to-do lists tied to the relevant conversation topics.
Cons
Audio during huddles is not up to the mark. I'm not sure whether it's specific to my setup or something other users deal with too but it happens pretty consistently.

“Keeps topics separated”
Pros
Communication keeps moving here without turning into a mess. Channels make it simple to keep topics separated, bring the right people into a conversation without filling up everyone's inbox and use threads or pinned messages to quickly get the context you need. It's especially useful for keeping projects moving when people aren't all online at the same time. It matches the way teams actually work.
Cons
At the same time, things can disappear pretty quickly. If you've been away for a while or missed part of a thread, catching up can feel like digging through a lot of noise just to find the one detail you needed. Search does help but it isn't always that accurate. I've also seen important information get lost when someone posted it in a random channel instead of putting it somewhere more structured.

“Easy to customize”
Pros
Something that really worked well for me was the way it is set up with subforums inside each team for different purposes. It made it simple to organize conversations by department and customize everything to fit how our company operates, whether that was human resources, sales, IT, management or even fun social channels.
Cons
The comments and emoji section felt a bit complex at times but other than that, there was nothing serious enough to make me consider switching to another provider.

“Project channels keep teams connected”
Pros
Each project can have its own channel, file sharing is built in, mentions help get the right people's attention and the integrations with tools like Google Drive and Notion make collaboration feel much more connected and efficient.
Cons
The notifications add up really quickly and when you're part of a lot of channels and multiple teams, it can get loud and overwhelming which makes it pretty easy to miss important updates even when you're trying to stay on top of everything.

“Super convenient interface”
Pros
It has a fun, user-friendly interface and makes it really convenient to stay in touch with coworkers or classmates. I've been using it for years and still love it.
Cons
Free version only gives you limited storage which can make sharing visual content like videos a bit restrictive unless you upgrade to a paid plan.

“Quick messaging and file sharing”
Pros
Communication across the team feels smooth with well-organized channels, quick messaging, file sharing and strong integrations that really help boost productivity.

The notifications can feel like a lot at the beginning though the customizable settings make it possible to dial things in and find the right balance for your workflow.

“Smooth transistion between mobile and desktop”
Pros
It has a very clean interface, screen sharing works without any hassle, inviting guests is simple and sharing files is really convenient. One thing I especially appreciate is being able to move between mobile and desktop during huddles without breaking the flow. More and more companies seem to be building it into their platforms which says a lot about how flexible and collaboration-focused it is.
Cons
Some of the more advanced features, like Workflow, List and Canvas, take time to figure out. They can be extremely useful once you understand them but at first they feel a bit complex and that can slow adoption and make it harder to get everyone fully engaged.

“Good free options”
Pros
The free features are really useful and messaging with both internal teams and external stakeholders works well. It keeps conversations consolidated in one place and the interface is user-friendly overall.
Cons
Once message volume picks up, the interface can start to feel cluttered with all the chats, threads and ongoing conversations.

“Frictionless collaboration”
Pros
It has been a very easy to use platform for keeping team communication and collaboration flowing without friction. I use it regularly for sending and receiving direct messages and it handles that really well. The search functionality is especially powerful which makes it simple to find past conversations and information quickly. File sharing is also very convenient and overall it gives me everything I need in one place.
Cons
Up to this point, I really haven't run into any flaws or limitations with Slack since it already has everything I need to get my work done effectively.

“No wasted time on email threads”
Pros
keeps me updated without having to deal with long email threads and I love how quickly conversations move. It's also really convenient for sending over quick files or links on the spot.
Cons
Once a bunch of conversations kick off at the same time, it gets pretty easy to lose track of everything. On top of that, older messages can feel like they vanish unless I remember the exact words to search for.

“Valuable Calendar integration”
Pros
Dropping a message or sharing a file is really quick and threads do a nice job of keeping everything organized once conversations start getting busy. The Calendar integration also makes things much more convenient.
Cons
It can get a little noisy sometimes with all the notifications and the search doesn't always feel accurate when you're trying to dig up older messages or files.

“Handy all-in-one team chat”
Pros
Having office chat, side conversations and workplace messaging all in one app is really convenient. I also love getting notified every time a new message comes in so it's hard to miss anything important.

Emoji picker could be better. It would be nicer if bringing up emojis and selecting multiple reactions didn't require clicking back on the emoji icon every single time.

“Effective for building a strong company culture”
Pros
It has been outstanding for internal communication and for building a strong company culture especially with the ability to create all kinds of channels for different teams, topics and conversations.
Cons
It's not really a flaw with the tool itself but more about how it gets used. It can become a problem if the culture turns into one where people feel expected to constantly respond to pings and messages.

Pros
Working with my remote team feels much more direct day to day because of this tool. It's the tool that keeps projects moving, whether we're chatting in real time, running quick polls or using workflows that don't need to be triggered manually.
Cons

“Good for sending files”
Pros
This software works really well for team communication, whether it's sending files quickly or asking a fast question. Setting up channels by project or topic is simple which helps keep conversations organized. It also connects with other tools so notifications can come in directly and save time.
Cons
Once a lot of people are chatting at the same time, keeping up with everything can get difficult. Another downside is that older messages disappear on the free plan so important information can sometimes get lost.

Even when I'm away from my desk, I can still approve things or message someone quickly right from my phone. The mobile app is surprisingly capable and handles a lot more than I expected.
Cons

“internal and external conversations in one platform”
Pros
It has become the place where we keep both internal and external conversations in one platform. Most of our company communication happens there and the interface is simple enough that our team can message each other quickly and keep things moving.
Cons
Compared with other tools I've used at different companies, the limitation is that communication is mostly text-based. Because of that, we still need a separate platform for meetings and video calls.
