“Desktop crashes hurt calls”
Pros
Using it is pleasant overall and it comes with a wide range of features and integrations that make it useful for day-to-day work.
Cons
The desktop app keeps crashing especially during calls. Calling is unreliable to the point that maybe 10% of my calls actually work properly and I'm honestly not exaggerating. We end up moving over to Zoom all the time.

“Team communication made better”
Pros
It has made our team communication much better with instant messaging, screen sharing and quick @mentions in channels which helps conversations move faster and keeps everyone aligned.
Cons
It did take me and a few coworkers some time to get used to how everything works but once we learned it, it became something we now rely on every day.

“Secure and practical collaboration”
Pros
Real-time team communication was one of the things I appreciated most. Being able to set up private channels for troubleshooting also made collaboration feel more secure and practical.
Cons
At first, the interface was the part I struggled with most. It took a while to get used to the layout and figure out all the available options which was a bit frustrating on my end. Once I learned how to navigate the app properly though, I felt much more confident using it.

“Quick and easy”
Pros
It feels quick to use and very simple to navigate. The channels and threads do a really good job of keeping conversations organized and the clean layout makes everything look clear and uncluttered.
Cons
Every now and then it can freeze and on rare occasions the server goes down. It's not something that happens often but it does come up from time to time.

“Nice visual design”
Pros
Getting started with it felt simple and the interface has a really nice visual design.
Cons
The part that didn't work well for me was the login process which can be pretty confusing when there isn't a company-wide license.

“Can customize information for different audiences”
Pros
Being able to create channels and tailor the information for different audiences was a big plus. It made communication feel more organized and relevant depending on who needed to see what.
Cons
Shared information wasn't saved unless you upgraded which made the free version feel a bit limiting.

“sends files quickly”

It gives me a simple way to stay in touch with coworkers and send files over quickly without having to rely on email or worry about the quality changing.
Cons
Without the paid version, older chat history disappears after a set number of days which can be frustrating.

“Organized conversations”
Pros
Keeping team communication in one place has been a big advantage. Separate channels for different projects or topics make discussions feel much more organized and a lot easier to track. The connections with tools such as Google Drive, Trello and Zoom add a lot of value too and make collaboration more convenient.
Cons
At times, the number of notifications can become a bit too much especially on bigger teams with lots of active channels. Staying caught up isn't always simple unless you regularly mute or prioritize conversations. The free plan also comes with limits especially the cap on message history which can be frustrating if upgrading to a paid option isn't something you want to do.

“Fantastic for project tracking”
Pros
It has been an excellent tool for team messaging and for staying on top of project progress.
Cons
Since I manage separate workspaces for different clients, I have to sign in to each one individually to check messages and project updates. It would be much better to have a more unified interface where multiple spaces and clients could be viewed at the same time.

“Can drop in documents and links”
Pros
Being able to create group chats and drop in documents, links and other resources right inside the conversation is really useful.
Cons

“Modern chat tool”
Pros
Having huddle meetings built into the app is really helpful and the chat feels modern with useful features like tagging people and attaching documents. I used the free version so I couldn't access messages older than 90 days but it still works very well for keeping communication going with a team. Overall, it's very user-friendly.
Cons
visual style doesn't come across as very professional. The first time I used it for work, it immediately reminded me of Discord which is usually associated more with gaming and the overall look feels pretty similar. Because of that, it may not seem fully appropriate or formal enough as a tool for professional use. Aside from that, I still think it's useful.

“Notification gaps”
Pros
Slack comes packed with features. You can build workflows that automate tasks for you such as sending reminder messages automatically. It also has a huge selection of emojis and you can even make your own custom ones.
Cons
notifications do not always reach my devices so I sometimes miss new messages. On top of that, the huddle call feature can have weak audio quality at times.

“Customizable and solid teamwork”
Pros
Our team only recently switched over and the move went off without any problems. It feels very customizable and has a really robust set of features.
Cons
Since we came from Teams, the new layout and format took a bit of adjusting. We've also run into some issues during huddle calls.
