After using it for years, it's still one of my favorite tools for team communication. Setting up channels for different topics is simple and it's really helpful that you can control who gets access to each one. It also lets you create lists, save things for later with bookmarks, check activity quickly, message teammates directly and customize the workspace with fun emojis. The emoji feature honestly adds a lot to the day for our team and keeps conversations lively and enjoyable.

Cons

I still haven't been able to figure out how to upload custom backgrounds for huddle calls. The default background options built into the system don't look very good during live calls. The image quality comes across poorly and that part of the experience definitely feels lacking.

Getting started with it is simple and it lets you join all kinds of group conversations.

There's no way to tell whether your message has been read or if someone is currently typing or replying.

I've been using it for a long time and one thing I really appreciate is how the vendor keeps rolling out new features regularly. The newer VC feature is especially helpful because it lets me run online meetings without needing to connect a separate web conferencing tool.

there is not much to dislike. The only thing that can get a little annoying at times is the notifications although they are still helpful because they remind me about important messages.

Something that doesn't make sense is that the entire workspace shows up in the language it was originally created in for everyone. For example, I have to use German in a shared project workspace with a German team, while the workspace I made for my own team has to stay in English. It would be much better if each user could open it in their own language. I also don't think it's logical to require a subscription just to view messages older than 90 days. Having a free version feels questionable when past conversations become inaccessible after that limit.

I really appreciate how simple it is to pull up past conversations and shared files with the search bar. The interface is also very user-friendly so it doesn't take much time or any tutorials to figure out how everything works.

Because everything is so centralized, work moves along efficiently but the constant flow of channel and thread notifications can get overwhelming. On top of that, when I'm somewhere with weak reception, messages take a while to come through so a stable internet connection is definitely necessary.

Working with a team feels far less stressful with it. From quick questions and team updates to sharing a funny GIF, the channels have been a lifesaver when it comes to keeping conversations and tasks in order. The search function is excellent as well since it makes it really simple to track down documents and files whenever I need them.
