“Can't complain about anything”
Pros
This has been a great way for our team to communicate across the organization and it also works really well for staying connected with other companies.
Cons
There really aren't any major issues to point out. A few integrations have been a little tricky to get working but that has mostly been due to limitations on the other tools' side.

“Smooth channel-based setup”
Pros
It's instant messaging and channel-based setup made communication across the team feel smooth, with conversations staying organized and project discussions much easier to keep track of.
Cons
The notifications can get a bit overwhelming especially on bigger teams with lots of active channels. With constant updates coming in, it's also pretty easy to get distracted.

“Gives me a lot of flexibility”
Pros
Slack gives me a lot of flexibility in how I communicate. I can send a direct message or kick off a channel depending on what the conversation needs. Having automated reminders and polls built into channels is really useful too. I also appreciate being able to mark messages as unread and save them for later when I need to come back to something. The huddle feature is another big plus for quick syncs with the team.
Cons
if I forget to star channels, tracking them down later can be a bit inconvenient.

“Well-made templates”
Pros
It covers a lot of what I need in one place. The number of app integrations is a huge plus and it works well for managing projects both inside the company and with external partners while keeping communication open. The templates are genuinely useful and well made and quite a few of them are ready to use without much adjustment. Threaded conversations help keep the main channel from turning into a wall of back-and-forth messages and I also appreciate being able to decide which parts of a thread should be posted back to the main comment board when needed. On top of that, the workflow creation feature adds a lot of value.
Cons
A few limitations do get in the way. With workflows, there's no option for conditional steps so if I want a form to change questions based on a previous answer, that just isn't possible. Instead, I have to build separate workflows or forms for each path. It can also become pretty cluttered over time. Even with solid notification settings organized channels and good communication habits, things can spiral and feel messy quickly. A lot also depends on how well other people understand the platform because if someone doesn't really know how to use it, there's no guarantee they'll notice messages properly or have their notifications set up right.

“Been reliable for years”
Pros
For more than six years, it has been a dependable platform for instant messaging, team collaboration, large file sharing and audio conferencing. The newer VC feature has also been really useful, letting me schedule and join corporate meetings from anywhere as long as I have an internet connection.
Cons
I do not have any real complaints. If the overall rating went beyond 10 stars, I would rate it even higher because the vendor keeps improving and updating the platform all the time.

“Makes it possible to ask for help”
Pros
Even in a small business where everyone works in the same building, it's still easy to get buried in individual tasks. It turned out to be incredibly helpful for keeping us connected, letting us chat about projects and ask for help without interrupting each other.
Cons
Channel creation can get a little out of hand if no one keeps it in check so it can definitely be a double-edged sword.

“Basic chat works, advanced use feels complex”
Pros
As a group chat tool, Slack does a decent job. The basics are simple enough to pick up and start using without much trouble.
Cons
Once you try to do more than basic chatting, it can handle it but it starts to feel complicated and not very user-friendly in my opinion.

“More comprehensive compared with other apps”
Pros
Compared with other messaging apps I've used before, this one really covers everything and then some. It has all the features I want in one place, emojis, GIFs, workflow automations, channels and groups and it's genuinely a pleasure to use.
Cons
There honestly isn't anything major to complain about. I really enjoy using it overall. The only small issue I've noticed lately is that messages on my phone sometimes show up later than they do on the desktop app but it's a very minor bug.

“Great at improving team communication”
Pros
It does an incredible job of improving team communication and collaboration. The channel-based setup keeps discussions organized by topic so it's much simpler to track the conversations that matter. It also connects well with tools like Google Drive, Trello and Zoom which helps bring task management and communication into one place and keeps workflows moving efficiently.
Cons
steady flow of messages and notifications can start to feel overwhelming which sometimes makes it harder to concentrate on focused, deep work.

“Quick to get started with”
Pros
Quick to get started with and using it every day feels very easy. Each team member can have their own account and it's simple to organize conversations across multiple channel groups. The mobile app performs really well when you're away from your desk and sharing or reviewing files is convenient. It's also helpful that there's a clear message history to revisit and check what was discussed.
Cons
Pricing becomes quite a bit higher for Canadian users because of the USD to CAD conversion. Another frustrating part is the passwordless sign-in process since having to rely on an emailed login code can be inconvenient especially for people working in a group setting on shared devices.
