The best chat for work

Pros

For remote work, Slack stands out as the go-to communication tool, offering seamless integration with platforms like HubSpot, Airtable, and PandaDoc for receiving timely notifications. Its ability to create various channels and facilitate community building adds to its allure.

Cons

there is nothing significant to mention. Sometimes, there are minor bugs like recording a video or audio message where the audio is missing, which can be a bit annoying since I have to redo it, but it is infrequent.

Slack

Pros

By establishing channels, Slack facilitates efficient communication among colleagues, especially when working on client projects. Its real-time sharing capabilities prove invaluable, especially under tight deadlines.

Cons

The minimum file storage available can be inconvenient. Sending files via Slack rather than email can be problematic because Slack gradually removes files, and you only receive as much storage as your business pays for.

A very useful tool for collaboration in a n organization.

Custom themes and flexible chats

Pros

I enjoy being able to change the theme across the entire app which feels amazing. It also comes with a lot of useful features that give me flexibility, whether I want to post in a group or message someone individually. On top of that, it creates separate threads for replies which makes conversations much easier to follow.

Cons

Most of the time I use it on my MacBook but I also have an Android phone that doesn't even let me install it from the Play Store. My device is an OPPO A3S so I understand it's fairly old but I still expected the app to at least install even if some features were limited.

Free plan covers a lot

Pros

The free version already handles a huge amount and getting started with it is very simple. It brings together everything needed for an association's day-to-day life: group channels, direct conversations and file sharing.

Cons

Once your organization becomes too large, the free version is no longer enough.

My most used tool

Pros

My day revolves around Slack for chats, meeting notes, knowledge sharing, and calls. I admire companies that embrace Slack, as it signifies a modern approach to communication.

Cons

I often find myself caught off guard by major changes in Slack. It would be beneficial if they provided advance notice, along with a clear way to preview upcoming changes.

Slack provides essential options for internal communications, ensuring accessibility and updates throughout the day.
