“getting on board is easy”
Pros
It feels user-friendly and simple to use which makes getting people on board much easier. It runs reliably and the notifications consistently arrive when they should. Best of all, it stays present without becoming intrusive which really matters in a work environment. The clean organized layout also makes the overall experience pleasant and free of unnecessary distractions.
Cons
Even though it works well overall, the platform can feel a bit slow at times and that can be frustrating. On top of that, tracking down older messages or files can be difficult because the search function does not always return accurate results. Another notable downside is the lack of a screen-sharing feature which limits real-time collaboration.

“Good at bringing people together”
Pros
Communication between team members feels very simple and the chat features do a really good job of bringing people together so they can collaborate as one unified team.
Cons
Members really need to have smartphones so they can install the app and use it on their phones.

“Automates processes”
Pros
Its biggest advantage is how well it integrates with a wide range of tools and services making it possible to automate processes and connect different platforms and work teams in one place.
Cons
It takes time for the whole team to get used to using it. The learning curve is not too steep for basic features but it becomes more challenging when you want to use it for project tracking or more advanced task management especially for people who have never worked with similar communication tools before.

“Pricing works for us”
Pros
It has been very simple to use, the pricing works well for us and it has become a core part of how we run our business processes day to day.
Cons
We really haven't run into any problems using it. The only thing worth noting is that the cost can climb a bit if API access is needed.

“brilliant text editing and formatting features”
Pros
Very practical to use. The text editing and formatting features work really well, it's simple to find messages and files and the platform is very user-friendly overall.

At the moment, I honestly don't see anything vat or any feature I dislike in it.

“Manage tasks in a clear way”
Pros
Being able to set up separate channels for teams, projects or specific topics gives me a really practical way to keep work organized and manage tasks in a clearer way.
Cons
Even though Slack includes a search feature, the results are not always as accurate or complete as what you get from dedicated search tools. Tracking down specific details or older conversations can be difficult at times especially in larger workspaces where there are a lot of messages.

“Keeps all departments in a company connected”
Pros
It's an incredibly useful tool for keeping every department in the company connected, as well as helping teammates within the same area stay in touch. Communication is immediate and being able to send files and voice messages is something I really appreciate because it makes collaboration between employees much more practical.
Cons
Threaded replies are helpful in theory but they can also feel confusing and a lot of messages end up getting lost that way. I'm also not a fan of messages being deleted once a certain limit is reached since that means you don't keep a complete history of everything that was discussed there.

“Quick to roll out”
Pros
It was quick to roll out and has been a very dependable communication tool for our team. It made remote collaboration during the pandemic much more manageable and helped us stay closely connected with other teams while working from different locations. The event notifications are excellent and it integrates well with third-party tools like Kibana, ServiceNow, JIRA and others.
Cons
Audio and video calling still aren't its strongest areas. The mobile app also has some limitations when it comes to alerts and push notifications since they can arrive late at times. On top of that, it doesn't work well with older Mac OS versions.

“covers collaboration needs”
Pros
Lets you set up support channels for people involved in a project or community which makes collaboration much more practical. You can share files, send messages and also keep track of tasks that need to be completed so it covers several communication and coordination needs in one place.
Cons
When a channel gets very large and has a lot of members, the amount of information coming in can become overwhelming. On the other hand, if you join channels with very little activity or a small community, there's a good chance you'll only use that space at the beginning and then stop coming back to it.

“Real-time responses from my team”

“improves overall efficiency”
Pros
It has been really useful for communication and collaboration at work. It supports real-time messaging and connects well with other tools like Google Drive, Trello and Asana which helps teamwork run better and improves overall efficiency. It also makes it convenient to organize and search messages, offers customization options and can be accessed from multiple devices.
Cons
On the downside, it can create information overload, encourage too much dependence on technology and raise concerns around security and privacy. There's also the risk of becoming overly tied to the platform for daily work.

“frustrating limits on free plan”
Pros
The interface looks polished and modern and when a workspace is relatively quiet, it's simple to scan messages and quickly tell what actually matters to you. Setting up new workspaces and channels is also very simple. A big reason we keep using it though, is that it has become the default since almost everyone is already on Slack.
Cons
The free plan feels heavily restricted now. With only 90 days of message retention, I've gone back to older workspaces trying to find information and realized it was no longer available which is really frustrating. Threaded conversations also feel like they were added on later instead of being built naturally into the platform. Since not everyone uses threads consistently, they often create extra confusion especially in larger workspaces where discussions end up split between the main channel and separate threads. On top of that, the threads, mentions and reactions views, features that are supposed to help filter out less relevant activity, often feel cluttered and hard to follow. Pricing is also quite high.

“Fixes collaboration issues”
Pros
Once it's set up well, it really helps fix communication and collaboration issues. It also gives much better visibility into how work is progressing which makes it especially valuable for small teams.
Cons
The part I liked least is the pricing for accessing some of the more advanced features since the free version is quite limited especially when it comes to video calls.

“Superb search tools”
Pros
It's features and search tools are fantastic and being able to connect a wide range of apps makes it even more useful.
Cons
Depending on your plan, content may be deleted after 90 days so it's not always dependable as a long-term archive when you need to look up older information. The mobile app notifications can also be a little buggy at times which means some alerts may get missed.

Pros
Getting started with it was really simple and the mobile app has been fantastic. I can send files without any hassle and syncing my Google Calendar means I get meeting alerts right on time which has been incredibly useful.

“Fun emojis and lightweight chat”
Pros
Right from the start, it gives you a big variety of emojis which makes jumping into your community feel more fun and personal. I also appreciate that it doesn't force a bunch of background processes to keep running on my computer so everything feels less cluttered while I hang out with the community and play whatever game fits me best.
Cons
Something that gets frustrating is the number of commands that aren't introduced very well. It's a bit of a double-edged sword because the feature is useful but it can also be annoying when you're trying to figure things out. a simple startup YouTube video could probably solve that faster than waiting for a product update.

“comprehensive tool”
Pros
Between messaging, collaboration tools, file sharing and private chats, it covers pretty much everything I need. It also helps that so many people already use it which makes working together and staying connected really convenient.
Cons
I didn't run into any issues with the app. It feels like Slack pulled together the strongest features from every instant messaging tool I've used and put them all in one place.

“enjoyable and full of features”
Pros
From the emojis to Huddles, there's a lot to enjoy here. It's very simple to use and threaded conversations make discussions much easier to organize and revisit later. The integrations work really well with a lot of other platforms which adds a lot of value. I also really appreciate the search function and being able to snooze notifications for a set time. Overall, there are plenty of strong reasons to keep using it.
Cons
The DM section only shows around 15 people at a time. Since I usually message individuals across the company rather than just one team, I end up repeatedly starting a "new" message. The message history is still there so it's not a major loss but it would be much better if it displayed closer to 20 DMs at once.
