“Live chat with the whole team”
Pros
My work requires me to stay in constant contact with teammates spread across different continents and this platform makes that really convenient. We can chat live with the whole team, set up separate group conversations for different needs and also send direct messages to any team member whenever needed.
Cons
I honestly haven't come across anything I dislike about it.

“Keeps virtual workspaces organized”
Pros
It helps us keep a virtual workspace well organized and focused on meeting objectives which fits perfectly with the agile and fast-moving environments we work in today. It also makes it possible to bring all the stakeholders in a project together even when they are located very far from one another.
Cons
At times, it is important to assign someone to oversee the workspace while the project is being carried out so everything stays aligned with the proposed goals. Doing that helps ensure communication keeps flowing properly and that the deadlines for the planned activities are met on schedule. It also gives us the flexibility to apply our own judgment as project managers within the tool so it does not get in the way of creativity or innovation.

“Groups around specific projects”
Pros
Slack works really well for setting up groups around specific projects or issues so it's simple to keep all the right people involved in one place. Sharing documents, images and other files feels very simple and the icons and emojis add a fun touch to daily conversations. The notifications are also nicely integrated and do a good job helping separate what actually matters from the things that aren't very relevant.
Cons
Video and audio calling both tend to perform poorly. On mobile, updates do not always come through properly either which means some conversations can be missed.

“easy to pick up”
Pros
Working in this app feels very comfortable overall. The interface is simple and easy to understand and it lets you create plenty of different channels to share updates or stay informed across different groups of coworkers, whether that's separate departments or teammates collaborating on the same project.
Cons
latest update to the calling feature feels less comfortable to use than before. Another limitation is that there's no way to tell whether the person on the other end has actually read your message.

“Valuable for us”
Pros
Being able to stay in touch with my team across the entire market has been incredibly valuable. Since I'm the only person in my role, having a way to connect with the broader community makes a big difference. The real-time chat is especially important because it helps resolve issues much faster than relying on email alone.
Cons
The notification setup still has room for improvement. Email alerts could arrive more quickly and desktop notifications would be better if they were a little less intrusive.

“constant contact with Slack”
Pros
Keeping in touch instantly through it has been really helpful. I especially love being able to set reminders and mark messages as unread so nothing slips through the cracks. The separate channels also make it much easier to organize different projects and keep conversations with each group on track.
Cons
notifications don't always show up on my phone.

“can integrate a variety of tools”
Pros
Using it feels very user-friendly and the variety of tools it can integrate helps improve efficiency across the company's day-to-day operations.
Cons
It still doesn't fully integrate with Google Drive in a way that lets you export interactions in an organized, customizable format instead of plain text which would make it much easier for team members to search through the information shared every day.

“Flexible integrations and simplicity”
Pros
Getting started with it is very simple and its compatibility with a wide range of other software is something I really appreciate.

“Fantastic team communication hub”
Pros
A really powerful way to stay in touch with team members in real time. The interface is simple to understand so anyone can get started within minutes without needing training. The screen sharing feature is excellent and makes it possible to work effectively whether you're in the office or at home. It also works across computers and phones which helps everyone stay connected from anywhere at any time. There are plenty of personalization options too like changing images, updating status and choosing themes. Another feature I really appreciate is being able to create as many channels as needed, name them however I want and keep them private so only approved people can join. The option to star messages is very helpful for saving important information from chats. On top of that, the voice quality is clear and it handles large file sharing and group messaging very well.
Cons
I can't point to any negatives. It feels very well designed and complete.

“several conversations at once”
Pros
Working with my team is much easier because this tool keeps communication organized. We can have several conversations at once across different channels depending on the topic we're handling and one-to-one chats are just as simple to use. Being able to see replies and other messages in context makes it much easier to follow the thread of a discussion without getting lost. The option to respond with emoji reactions also makes exchanges quicker and more pleasant. Best of all, being able to pause notifications especially during meetings, is incredibly useful.
Cons
The part I appreciate least is that calls sometimes run into connectivity issues. Video calls also feel a bit limited in terms of features. One improvement I'd really like to see would be more effects available during video calls.

“Lets me mute alerts”
Pros
Being able to control which channels send me notifications is one of the best parts. I can also mute alerts during meetings which helps a lot when I need to stay focused. Another thing I really enjoy is having Slack on both my computer and my phone so wherever I am, I can quickly jump back in and respond to my coworkers.
Cons
With so many chats and channels to be part of, things can start to feel a bit cluttered and messy.

“convenient for everyone”
Pros
It has been really useful for keeping our team connected through instant messaging and group chats. It also includes a built-in video conferencing option which makes it convenient for everyone on the team to join meetings in one place. Another helpful part is the ability to create multiple channels so only the relevant team members can be given access when needed.
Cons
Older messages stop being visible after a certain period which makes it harder to go back and check past conversations. There are also a few channels I can't leave and because of that my feed sometimes stays crowded with messages from spaces I don't really want to keep following.

“Helpful notifications and file access”
Pros
Notification system stood out, along with file access and the overall user-friendly setup, plus a lot more. I've been using it for more than 10 months now. Another big advantage is that you can create as many groups as needed and even view messages without having to join the group.
Cons
Honestly, I haven't run into anything negative with this software while using it.

“Way ahead of alternatives”
Pros
After using it since its early days, I've seen plenty of competitors come and go. We've tested other options over the years, including Teams since we already use O365 but we always end up coming back to Slack because it simply does the job well. It covers everything a team collaboration and communication platform should have and with the steady stream of new features, it's really turning into our digital HQ. The Salesforce acquisition has been a positive move in my view and I'm looking forward to the innovation that continues to come from that partnership. There was definitely a stretch where progress felt slower and some features especially Slack calling, were frustratingly buggy. Over the last year though, development has picked up again and Slack Huddles has been the biggest win for us. They're dependable and feel more personal than Zoom. The roadmap looks promising too especially with Canvas on the way which feels like a feature Slack has needed for a while.
Cons
It can be for awkward for creating longer posts or messages with multiple images. Files and images just get dropped at the bottom of the post so if you want a layout like text, image, text, image, you end up having to send several posts one after another. I'm hoping the upcoming Canvas feature finally fixes that issue.

“Feels perfect”
Pros
Ability to reach coworkers right away makes both remote and office work much more efficient. Whether it's a quick question or a full hour-long collaboration session with screen sharing and file sharing, it works really well for both.
Cons
Overall, this software feels nearly perfect. The only issue that comes up once in a while is with huddles, where the audio or video doesn't work properly. Most of the time though, a quick reboot of the app or the laptop fixes it fast and since we mainly use it as an internal tool, it's not a major concern.
