“essential for keeping communication on track”
Pros
Whether the team is remote or working in person, it has become essential for keeping communication on track. The real-time messaging and file-sharing features make staying connected really convenient. Being able to send documents, set up channels or group spaces and get desktop notifications makes remote work feel much more manageable. Its instant messaging also adds a team-building aspect since it encourages people to talk and collaborate more naturally. Because of that, our team feels more comfortable communicating with each other every day.
Cons
file uploads and processing can take quite a while especially when the files are large. It would also help a lot if the platform allowed bigger file-sharing limits. On top of that, for larger companies, bringing in external freelancers can be somewhat time-consuming because an admin has to approve every new member. Since only a limited number of admins can manage company Slack accounts, that approval step can slow down workflow.

“keeps everyone in constant contact”
Pros
Across a team that's spread all over the country, this keeps everyone in constant contact and makes collaboration much more manageable. Different departments can work in their own channels for efficient communication, while still giving visibility to anyone else who's part of those channels. Having text chat, voice calls, video meetings and standard features like screen sharing all together in one platform makes it especially useful for day-to-day work.
Cons
There's definitely a bit of a learning curve for people who are used to only communicating through group texts or apps like WhatsApp. That said, once they get comfortable with channels and start using keyboard shortcuts, it becomes an excellent tool to rely on every day.

“easy to roll out”
Pros
Slack feels user-friendly, practical and user-friendly and it's simple to roll out whether you use it on the web or install it on a PC or mobile device.
Cons
In my case, the two-factor authentication setup with YubiKey can be an issue when I'm outside the corporate network.

“High level of integration”
Pros
it connects nicely with the software tools I use all the time. Being able to link it with my favorite workplace apps helps our organization keep everything connected in one flow. That level of integration has made collaboration much more smooth across teams.
Cons
The video and audio calling side still needs improvement when it comes to stability. Compared with dedicated conferencing platforms, the gap in call quality is pretty noticeable.

“all in one communication solution”
Pros
Real-time chat may be standard now but that's exactly why it feels essential. Add in group conversations and channels with different permission levels and it becomes an all-in-one communication tool for just about everything.
Cons
Mobile app can be frustrating when the signal is weak. Messages can be read but still stay marked as unread and sometimes sent messages don't actually go through.

“Clean design across devices”
Pros
Using it across both mobile and desktop has been really convenient. It's almost free, the layout is clean and the overall design makes it simple to navigate without much effort.
Cons
Slack could be better when it comes to step-by-step planning features. Logging in from a new device can be a bit of a hassle and every now and then I have to clear the cache to fix bugs.

“offers plenty of customization”
Pros
It stands out because of how simple it is while still offering plenty of customization. It works just as well for basic messaging as it does for sending notifications from external software, holding quick video or audio meetings, sharing files and adding integrated links. It almost feels like a social platform without the media side of it and that is exactly what makes it such a strong fit for most businesses.
Cons
I do not have any real complaints. It can start to feel cluttered at times but that usually comes down to how the user manages it. The data is simple to organize, clean up and sort out and that can usually be done within 5 to 30 minutes.

“option to customize channels”
Pros
Having the option to customize channels and keep some locked for management discussions while others stay open for everyday conversations has been incredibly helpful. It gives our team a clear place to check in on their day, share a marketing idea or ask questions without things getting lost. The bot has also been a big plus especially for automatically sending reminders to the sales team for results and prompting managers to add topics for the next meeting.
Cons
Getting everything integrated was simple and the setup was easy. Using it feels as natural as sending a text or chatting in Messenger. My only minor issue is that the channel layout can look a bit cluttered and I wish there were a way to nest things more neatly. Other than that, I really do not have any complaints. We have used both the free and paid plans and both have worked out very well for us.

“simple to share photos, documents”
Pros
I really appreciate how much control it gives over notifications, including when they come through and how they appear. Searching for older messages or information is very simple and setting up channels for individuals or groups, whether private or public, works really well. It also makes it simple to share photos, documents and other types of communication in one place. When working remotely, it helps a lot with staying updated on new information and ongoing conversations.
Cons
With so many channels across different departments, it did feel a bit overwhelming at the beginning trying to keep up with everything. After trimming out the channels I did not need though, it became much more manageable and now I just check it daily the same way I would with my work email.

“Organizes multiple feeds”
Pros
Keeping multiple feeds organized makes conversations much easier to manage and the search feature is reliable whenever I need to track down past information.
Cons
The layout could be improved and not having a truly functional dashboard can be limiting. There are also a lot of tools and plug-ins to navigate and since it's a public-facing platform, you have to be careful with personal information.

“Top notch team communication tools”
Pros
Communication through the app is a key part of the overall experience and it really delivers when it comes to usability and the tools it offers in that area.
Cons
Lately it has introduced new features and improved older ones, including links and video calls but the experience still doesn't feel fully immersive which leads me to rely on other apps for those functions.

“great for live team conversations”
Pros
It works well for live team conversations and sharing files is pretty convenient. Tagging a specific teammate in a group chat helps get the right person's attention and the drag-and-drop file sharing makes sending documents quick and practical.
Cons
It does use a lot of memory which can slow down the computer overall. The interface also feels a bit underwhelming and could be better designed.

Pros
Being able to create channels or groups is one of the best parts of using it since it keeps teams and projects organized and helps everything run in a more manageable way.
Cons
