“Timezone-friendly team communication”
Pros
Getting a new workspace up and running doesn't take much effort and once it's in place, staying connected with everyone you work with feels very simple. It works well for both real-time conversations and messages people can reply to later which makes a big difference when your team is spread across different time zones.
Cons
The video calling feature can use a lot of system resources so things like screen sharing to walk someone through an issue can be frustrating at times. On top of that, the call controls tend to sit in the way of whatever you're trying to show or work on. It would be much better if they could collapse into a movable floating button until you actually need them.

“Best-in-class team communication tool”
Pros
When it comes to project communication and keeping conversations organized, this platform really sets the standard. They were genuinely innovative in how they built it and even though other tools may handle certain pieces well, this one still feels like the original and the one others are trying to imitate.
Cons
The API does make it flexible enough to connect with other platforms but I do wish more of those capabilities were built in as native features.

“Better group organization”
Pros
Compared with other instant messaging tools, this one handles group management and message organization much better which makes it far easier to find older information when you need it.
Cons
desktop app does use a bit more system resources and on older computers that can impact overall performance.

“Improved alternative to Skype”
Pros
Between instant messaging, document sharing, threaded direct messages and Huddle for quick calls, it covers almost everything needed for day-to-day communication. The thread replies in DMs help keep conversations organized and Huddle makes it simple to connect with a coworker right away. It feels like a more modern and improved alternative to Skype especially since you can build teams and manage everything in one place.
Cons
Compared with other tools such as Skype, it can feel quite expensive especially for smaller companies working with a tighter budget.

“New users can easily figure it out”
Pros
Getting started with it is very simple and even brand-new users can usually figure things out without any training because the interface feels quite user-friendly. The integrations with third-party software also make a big difference since different teams can tailor the experience to fit how they work.
Cons
The Linux version has been unreliable for me and I've never been able to log in through the Linux Snap release. Because of that, I just stick with the web version.

“Every workplace needs it”
Pros
It has been the simplest tool to pick up and show others, whether the team is working remotely or together in the office. It feels like something every workplace should have because it's packed with useful features and the service is almost always reliable, with little to no downtime.
Cons
There really isn't much to complain about. Personally, the only thing I'd want is a little more control over the color customization although the dark mode already looks excellent.

“Allows live calls”
Pros
It makes team communication really simple and works well for real-time conversations. I can jump on live calls, share documents and keep discussions separated by topic which helps a lot with staying organized.
Cons
While the topic-based setup is useful, managing those topics can be confusing at times. I also wish I could choose which individual conversations should be marked as priorities because it can take a bit of effort to find certain chats. The search feature is a little awkward too especially since the results don't appear in time order.

“Fast moving conversations”
Pros
Between the quick chat, built-in reminders, message scheduling, integrations and calling features, Slack covers pretty much everything I need for daily communication. It helps keep conversations moving fast and makes coordinating with a team really convenient.
Cons
Honestly, I do not have any real complaints because it works really well for me overall. If I had to point out anything, the search could be a bit better but it is still perfectly usable.

“No complaints”
Pros
Real-time messaging and video conferencing have been the biggest advantages for us. With these features, our team can stay connected, communicate clearly and even continue learning together without needing to be in the office while working from home.
Cons
There's very little for me to complain about with this software. It works really well overall and every feature has been useful for our team.

“End-to-end encrypted video conferencing”
Pros
It has been an amazing communication tool for our organization, offering a smooth chat experience across teams. Its end-to-end encrypted video conferencing works really well, with very low latency and strong bandwidth performance. On top of that, it's cost-effective and uses very little data while still delivering high-quality audio and video.
Cons
At this point, there's not much to complain about. I haven't come across any major downsides though the user interface could still be improved to feel a bit more user-friendly.

“Works on Android and iPhone”
Pros
Keeping in touch with our team and the staff at our sister organizations is really convenient with this. It makes chatting with anyone simple, no matter if they use Android, iPhone or something else and it keeps conversations from getting buried in a long chain of group texts. I also appreciate being able to use it just as comfortably on my desktop as on my phone. The option to set notification time frames is another feature that works really well for us.
Cons
Every now and then on the desktop version, it can be slow to load and sometimes opens to a blank screen. When that happens, I have to refresh it before everything shows up properly.

“Appreciate the formatting options”
Pros
It has a clean, clear interface that makes everything feel organized right away. Setting up channels is simple, it connects really well with other apps and the search works well when I need to find past conversations. I also really appreciate the formatting options especially the syntax highlighting support for different formats.
Cons
Threads are a bit awkward since they can be harder to follow or locate later and important information can end up getting buried there. The search is definitely useful but it still falls short of being truly excellent.

Across several companies, I've used it for years to stay connected with the whole organization. It gives users one place for chatting, calling, video meetings and sharing different kinds of communication without much hassle.
