Key Takeaways

Fusion is an Electronic Health Record (EHR) and practice management platform for pediatric, adult, or geriatric rehabilitation practices. Therapists, clinicians, and administrative staff use it in speech-language pathology, physical therapy, and occupational therapy clinics. Users like how responsive the customer support is, though they feel the mobile experience could be improved. Recently, Ensora Health introduced free credentialing services for new Fusion practices on Advanced and Premier plans.

Our Verdict

Fusion works well for rehabilitation practices with several clinicians or more than one location. Users say the price is fair for larger teams, but solo practitioners and small clinics may find it expensive once add-on charges and usage fees are included. We recommend it for multi-discipline outpatient therapy groups offering speech, physical, and occupational therapy practices under one roof.

What Is Fusion By Ensora Health?

Fusion is a cloud-based EHR and practice management platform for speech-language pathology, physical therapy, and occupational therapy practices that need to manage clinical and administrative work. Its scheduling tools help staff coordinate appointments across multiple clinicians and locations. The billing features compare each claim with the clinical documentation and the schedule, and they flag missing information before the claim goes to the payer. These tools help clinicians reduce claim denials, minimize administrative work, and receive payments faster.

What Is Fusion By Ensora Health Best For?

Fusion is known for Ensai Session Assistant, a HIPAA-compliant paid add-on that drafts clinical notes with customizable terminology, format, and level of detail. It turns ambient session listening, dictation, or uploaded files into a structured note draft. The assistant supports documentation for high client volumes, including co-treatments and multi-speaker environments. The clinician still reviews each draft and approves the final note. This suits therapy practices that write notes often, run sessions with more than one discipline, or want to spend less time on manual note-taking.

How Much Does Fusion By Ensora Health Cost?

Fusion pricing starts at $25/month for one user on the Foundation plan for solo practices. This plan includes documentation, scheduling management, and email reminders. Further pricing tiers of the software are as follows:

  • Essentials: $99/month for one user
  • Advanced: $159/month for the first user, $45/additional user
  • Premier: $229/month for the first user, $75/additional user

In addition to the base subscription costs, organizations should keep the following additional costs in mind:

  • Telehealth: Unavailable on Foundation; costs $10/month plus $0.70/session and $0.30/additional participant on Essentials and Advanced, and is unlimited on Premier
  • Ensai Session Assistant: Available as an add-on for all plans, with a Limited Plan costing $29/user/month and an Unlimited Plan costing $55/user/month
  • Credit Card Payments: Available as an add-on for Foundation, Essentials, Advanced, and Premier at 2.99% + $0.30/transaction
  • Revenue Cycle Management (RCM): Available as a separately priced add-on for Advanced and Premier
  • Outbound Faxing: Unavailable on Foundation, costs $0.10/page with 30 free pages on Essentials and 50 free pages on Advanced, and is unlimited on Premier
  • Inbound Faxing: Unavailable on Foundation, costs $10/number/month plus $0.10/page with 30 free pages on Essentials and 50 free pages on Advanced, while Premier includes one number with unlimited pages and charges $10/month for each additional number
  • Text Reminders: Unavailable on Foundation, costs $0.10/unit with 30 free units on Essentials and 50 free units on Advanced, and is unlimited on Premier
  • Eligibility Requests: Unavailable on Foundation, costs $0.35/unit with 30 free units on Essentials and 50 free units on Advanced, and is unlimited on Premier
  • Electronic Claim Submission: Unavailable on Foundation, costs $0.35/unit with 30 free units on Essentials and 50 free units on Advanced, and is unlimited on Premier

Users generally describe Fusion’s pricing as fair for growing therapy practices. Many feel the cost is worth paying when they compare it with other options. Solo and small practices point to the add-on charges and per-usage fees, which leave them questioning the value.

For accurate pricing based on your organization’s needs, it’s recommended to request a custom Fusion By Ensora Health price estimate.

Who Is Fusion By Ensora Health For?

Fusion is suitable for independent practitioners to growing multi-location clinics. It is especially well-suited for the following therapy disciplines and practice types:

  • Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)
  • Physical Therapy (PT)
  • Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Pediatric therapy practices
  • Multi-discipline rehab

Fusion By Ensora Health Use Cases

Based on our analysis of user reviews and Fusion’s current capabilities, we have identified key scenarios where this software is a good fit for therapy practices:

Therapy Practices Struggling To Track Home Exercise Adherence

Therapy practices often assign home exercise programs to clients. Between appointments, therapists usually have no record of whether a client did the exercises. They cannot tell how closely the client followed the program or whether it is helping. Fusion suits practices that assign home exercises and need to review adherence and progress data. Through its Wibbi integration, Fusion syncs this data with the client record.

Practices Handling Insurance Billing Internally

Fusion’s integrated billing checks claims for errors before they are submitted. Practices that handle insurance billing internally pay for a mistake twice, first through delayed or lost revenue and then through staff hours spent fixing and resubmitting the claim. A billing team that wants accurate documentation before claims go out can use the check as part of its review.

Clinics Protecting Full Schedules From Last-Minute Changes

Cancellations, no-shows, and therapist changes leave gaps in a full schedule, and each empty slot is billable time the clinic does not get back. Fusion’s scheduler uses waitlists and reminders to fill openings, and it shows every discipline, therapist, and location in one view. Outpatient clinics with several therapists and locations use it to keep therapists booked when plans change.

Speech Practices Reporting Progress To Caregivers

Fusion lets therapists track and adjust speech goals, and its visual progress charts help them explain progress to caregivers. Caregivers in pediatric speech practices expect regular and clear updates on whether a child is moving toward goals. The charts are most useful to practices that build care plans around caregiver communication.

Growing Practices Adding Clinicians And Payers

A therapist cannot bill a payer until the practice has enrolled them with it, so each new hire brings paperwork that can hold up growth. Ensora’s credentialing service hands that work to a specialist team, which enrolls each clinician with up to three payers. It applies mainly to growing practices and multi-location organizations that add therapists often.

“amazing calendar templates & reports”

Pros

Using it has been way more simple than writing everything down on paper. The calendar is honestly the best part.. having dedicated templates plus color coding lets me instantly see whether a session is regular, a makeup, or direct supervision. I can also mark dates as unavailable so my scheduling stays accurate. Carrying notes from the previous session into the current one is another feature I really appreciate since it saves time and keeps context. On top of that, it handles task solving and reporting really well and the messaging system makes it simple to communicate with parents without bouncing between apps. Setup was also quick and painless which helped me get started immediately.

“all-in-one scheduling & billing win”

Pros

Fusion by Ensora Health brings scheduling, communications and billing into a single platform which really organizes day-to-day workflows. The claim management features help organize and move billing along with less back-and-forth and the interface feels simple after you get used to it. Having patient information in one place, plus the ability to track claims more easily, cuts down on administrative work and boosts overall productivity. Between patient scheduling, electronic documentation, claim management, insurance verifications and payment tracking, the feature set covers the core practice-management needs in one system which helps reduce manual tasks and keeps daily operations running smoothly.

Cons

There is a learning curve for new users and certain routine actions can take extra clicks. On top of that, loading larger patient records or heavier reports can feel slower at times. It also seems like the reporting and customization options could be more flexible. That said, these issues are relatively minor and the platform still performs well for managing everyday operations.
