NextGen Office EHR Features
AI Features
NextGen AI Ambient Assist provides robust documentation work and services instantaneously saving providers hours upon hours of work.
Dashboard
The interface on NextGen EMR is clean and minimalist, making navigation much more accessible. Doctors are constantly in a rush, and the developers designed it with that in mind. You can access all the features because there is a centralized screen with large, easy-to-select icons. Soon, utilizing the system will be second nature to you, and you'll be flying through like a pro. The goal of the software is to make things easier for users, and the unified dashboard promises to achieve just that.
Patient Portal
The NextGen PxP Portal is invaluable for practices with limited staff resources. It helps nurses alleviate administrative burdens, providing seamless patient assistance. This portal facilitates 24/7 access for patients to view reports and appointments, download medical papers, complete electronic forms, and schedule appointments remotely. Eliminating the need for visits to retrieve lab results, the platform enhances patient engagement and simplifies administrative workflows. Its user-friendly interface, automated email-based enrollment, and family-friendly features help increase access to care and provide unmatched convenience for patients and healthcare providers.
Interoperability
To allow easy access for all users, medical records should be interoperable. It is critical that the software also provides this to medical practices that already have limited resources. When running a clinic or hospital, you need all the assistance you can get. This feature links the program to other healthcare providers and adds you to the network. You can refer patients to specialists and obtain medical records from previous doctors. When you have access to a library of information, identifying ailments and developing the optimal treatment strategy is also quite simple.
Optimized Appointments
A medical clinic should have a well-organized timetable; otherwise, its facility will not work correctly. The system gives you the tools to optimize your appointments and see more patients in a single day. It can also send patients reminders before their scheduled appointment to ensure that they do not miss them. You can also fill open spaces with people on the waiting list. As a result, making an appointment is considerably more straightforward, and there are no last-minute cancellations, which is a significant concern for many doctors.
Clinical Summaries
Doctors can download the clinical summary with EMR, which saves time reading a full medical report. Also, they can quickly read through the diagnosis and treatment plan to get a complete understanding. The system also has the option for encounter summaries, which summarize what happened during each appointment. It helps doctors catch up because they visit so many patients. They can also share these with their colleagues to obtain a second perspective on a particular instance. Overall, the function is intended to assist already overburdened medical professionals.
Electronic Prescription
The next feature we'll talk about is the e-prescribing tool in EMR, which helps you detect prescription combinations, dosage issues, and patient allergies. Using this EHR, you may make digital prescriptions and send them to your patients' preferred pharmacies. After then, patients can pick it up whenever they like. This application also sends out alerts about potential drug interactions. Overall, the e-prescription feature will benefit both you and your patients.
AI-Powered Documentation
NextGen Office brings cutting-edge technology to your workflows with NextGen Office Ambient Assist. When providers use NextGen Office Ambient Assist, integrated ambient listening technology securely converts the spoken, natural patient-provider conversation into a complete SOAP note that can be reviewed and edited by providers and automatically integrated into the patient's chart in NextGen Office.

“strong EMR plus billing workflow”
Pros
Our organization runs our primary care clinics on NextGen Healthcare EHR. With it, we can order medications, keep patient charts up to date, manage appointments and handle billing and coding for medical claims. The platform covers a lot of the day to day clinic needs, including billing and coding for primary care claims, scheduling and appointment management, maintaining electronic medical records and proper chart documentation and ordering prescriptions. It also helps improve workflow efficiency and supports better coordination of patient care. Overall, it's a solid tool for both the clinical and administrative side of our primary care operations.
Cons
A snag we've run into is that appointments don't always get fully removed when we need to. Instead, they have to be marked as canceled which leaves more canceled entries in the system than we'd like. That can throw off scheduling reports and make appointment tracking less accurate than we want.

“efficient working”
Pros
Billing is solid and thoughtfully put together for our office everything from submitting claims to handling secondary claims, reviewing and correcting denied or rejected ones and even autoposting payments is covered. The ledger makes it easy to keep tabs on patient balances and it's simple to generate and send patient statements. The software feels adaptive day to day and we can also add notes directly in patient charts so we can track follow ups and actions as things progress.
Cons
A few menu options feel a bit tucked away so it helps to have clear guidance to set up provider details like NPIs and EINs in the backend. Also, once things are locked after setup, it's a pain to update practices that need to change or replace providers can run into friction.
