“PERFECT for small non-profits with few events”
Pros
The biggest benefit for us has been the small percentage of the registration fee. Our conferences occur over Memorial Day weekends and typically cost $500-$600, so any other website's transaction fee would be significantly higher. We also use PayPal for credit card transactions, which helps reduce charges from the credit card networks. I'm thrilled with the technical support, prompt and articulate communication. Even though weekend support isn't promised, I've sometimes received responses. A key feature for us has been the ability to allow people to make multiple payments rather than all at once. There are many more features I haven't explored yet but attendees can register themselves and edit their registrations. The software offers flexible registrant types, breakout session setups and various options for tickets and payments. I want to dive into the lodging options next. I appreciate being able to keep a testing window open while modifying settings in the backend and refreshing to see the effects. The only downside is that I occasionally need to re-enter registrant information after refreshing.
Cons
Someone else mentioned earlier, the email editor can be a bit confusing at first, but I just noticed that there are instructions at the top for importing a Word document without any issues. Yay! You can also edit the HTML to make tweaks. I appreciate that I can add graphics and flow text around them but I haven't figured out how to get a little margin between the graphic and the text. I noticed that the banner manager, where I upload my letterhead, seems to apply across the application. So if I want to change the letterhead for just one temporary purpose, I need to remember to revert it afterward to avoid affecting everything else that uses the letterhead. Like anything there's some difficulty to set it up but I found I could quickly pick up how RSVPBook works by trying things out and testing to see how everything interacts.
