Engagement booster, customization challenger

Pros

The app is incredibly user-friendly for my team. It's boosted employee engagement significantly and made self-service options much more accessible. Information flows better throughout the organization and my employees genuinely enjoy using the platform. It's done wonders for keeping everyone connected across the company.

Cons

Building custom functionality for our construction-specific needs takes considerable effort and the service limitations can make things less simple than we'd like.

Clear instructions, search could improve

Pros

streamlined and interactive platform

Pros

We've been using this platform for a while now and it's really streamlined our HR workflows, everything feels much more efficient and interactive. The customer support team is approachable and responds quickly whenever we need help. I'd definitely recommend it to any organization wanting to upgrade their HR operations with something that's both powerful and easy to use.

Cons

Creating reports is very tricky when you're new to it and there's definitely a learning curve to figure out how everything gets generated and what info you actually need. Sometimes we can't find reports for specific timeframes like when we needed salary data for May 2020, it just wasn't there. Maybe the dev team is working on this stuff. Also being based in Germany means we cant use any of the payroll features which is frustrating since we're missing out on those components entirely.

Centralized, easy and refreshingly genuine

Pros

Everything gets centralized in one spot, employee data, recruiting, PTO, payroll! The interface is incredibly easywhether I'm on my desktop or mobile device. The sales experience was genuinely refreshing too. Support responded quickly to all our questions and our sales rep felt authentic rather than pushy, which made the whole process much more enjoyable.

Cons

I wish there was a way to customize the time off approval process, but that option doesn't exist.

User friendly but payroll promises broken

Pros

The interface is really user-friendly and I love the fun quotes and statements they include. It handles so many different HR tasks really well.

Cons

BambooHR doesn't handle Guaranteed Payments for business owners who get K1s instead of W2s during tax season. We were told before setup that it supported this but after dealing with inconsistent tax withholdings and spending months trying to fix everything, we had to pull our owner from their payroll system entirely. This came back on me since I made that call. The payroll team kept acting like they knew exactly what a Guaranteed Payment was but clearly they didn't, though maybe they do now. The platform still can't handle this payment type.

User-friendly with automation needs

Pros

I find this to be among the most user-friendly HRIs and ATs platforms out there. The automation features work smoothly with simple integration, making it accessible for users at any skill level.

Cons

I wish the applicant tracking features were stronger, things like interview scorecards, hiding feedback until everyone submits theirs and better email functionality could really use some work.

simple team calendar, room to grow

Pros

I can quickly check the calendar to see when my team members are taking vacation days or find other staff information.

Cons

Time management features could use some work and I'm curious to see how well the bamboo system actually performs in practice but so far it feels like there's room for improvement.

Effortless job reposting, clunky updates

Pros

One of my favorite features is how easily I can repost job ads. It's so simple and fast. Once I confirm it, the software handles the rest, sending the listing out to all the major online job markets automatically. It completely eliminates what used to be a very repetitive and tedious chore.

Cons

It's a bit cumbersome when I need to send updated offer letters to staff like when someone gets a raise or their role changes, the process could be more streamlined.

smooth start but scheduling costs extra

Pros

Getting started is a smooth experience because the design is so user-friendly and easy to get the hang of. You're well-supported at every step: the online knowledge base has detailed answers for almost any task, and the friendly support team is just a message away for any extra help you might need. It really feels like they've got you covered.

Cons

One thing that bothers me is there's no scheduling system for shift workers in the pro package. You have to integrate with separate scheduling software to make it work.

Interactive and clear from day one

Excellent tool, occasional confusion

Pros

Overall it's been an excellent tool that's always accessible whether I'm using Chrome on W11 or my Android device. Really appreciate how it displays the staff hierarchy and makes everything so much clearer. The monthly pricing feels reasonable for what we get and I think Bamboo delivers good value for that cost.

Cons

I don't use this daily, which makes it confusing when I need to find specific functions like vacation requests. The company-wide vacation report was particularly challenging and those day bars weren't easy at first and took some getting used to.

simple layout, occasional glitches

Pros

The simple layout makes it really easy to use between different sections. Whether I'm browsing through potential candidates or checking current employee files, everything is organized in one convenient location that's easy to find.

Cons

game-changer for our small team

Pros

I've found this to be the most helpful HRIs system for our small HR team. The automation features have been a game-changer, tasks that used to eat up hours of my week now run themselves which has been a huge relief. The training resources and support team make everything easy to learn and implement. What really impressed me is how smoothly it integrates with our other systems and data flows seamlessly between platforms. As someone who uses this daily, I genuinely appreciate how much easier it's made my job.

Cons

only downside is that we haven't signed up for all the add-on options yet. They've created such a comprehensive product that really keeps the end user in mind.

The apple of HR software

Pros

our team didn't need any training to use the self-service portal. Everyone appreciates being able to handle everything from applications and onboarding to PTO requests and updating their tax info or direct deposit details all in one place. I'd describe it as the Apple equivalent of HR software, sleek and simple. We recently migrated our payroll here and the process was seamless. Communication was transparent, expectations were clear and we had zero hiccups during the transition. Our first payroll run and subsequent ones have been flawless. We're planning to add the benefits module soon too. What I value most is there customer support, multiple contact options are available but the chat feature is fantastic for getting instant help from a rep.

Cons

All-in-one convenience, needs mobility

Pros

I appreciate being able to handle everything in one place, from managing my dependents' details to requesting overtime pay. It's convenient having all these features together.

Cons

Not having a mobile version is a big limitation for me. When I'm away from my desk, I'm completely cut off from getting any work done in the system.
