Overview
Kronto helps businesses build sales-based schedules, track time cards, and split tips from one app for hourly teams. Its schedule views may feel limited for managers planning beyond two weeks, but it can work well for teams that want overtime, clopenings, and overlapping shifts checked before a schedule goes live.

Kronto Features
Scheduling
Kronto's scheduling feature uses each location's sales forecast to estimate staffing requirements in 30-minute intervals. The daily view uses green, yellow, and red indicators to show whether staffing is on target, within 15% of the target, or outside that range. Managers can start from last week, any earlier week, or a saved template, then publish the full week, a single day, or selected shifts, with or without notifying the team. They can also undo draft changes or revert schedules to their last published version. Kronto flags any scheduled person without a pay rate, since their cost would otherwise be left out.
Time Cards
Time cards open for clock-in a set number of minutes before each shift, and any unplanned work needs a clock-in request. On a shared store tablet, team members select their name and enter a 4-digit PIN. An optional minimum break lock stops a break from ending early. With auto-approval on, cards approve automatically when punches fall within the set tolerance. Payroll files export as a consolidated CSV or a punch-by-punch CSV.
Tip Distribution
Tip distribution splits pooled tips by hours on each time card or equally among people who met a minimum-hours threshold. Tip-outs then allocate a set percentage of tips from one role to support roles such as bussers and hosts. Card tips sync from Square and Toast, cash tips are declared in the app or on the store tablet with a PIN, and other tips can be imported from a CSV with a review step. Managers can hold a shift’s tips until its time card is corrected. Export files can follow Rippling or Justworks layouts.
Checklists
Managers can assign checklists to specific dayparts, such as breakfast, and automatically allocate tasks to the first employee to clock in or the last to clock out within designated roles. Checklists can repeat on selected days, at intervals of several weeks, or monthly, with deadlines extending past midnight for late-night closing shifts. When photo approval is enabled, managers can approve or reject submitted photos, provide reasons for rejection, and return, skip, or reassign tasks as needed. Only someone clocked in at the store can check off a shared task.
Business Intelligence
The dashboard tracks gross sales, transactions, average transaction, tips as a percent of sales, labor percent, and sales per labor hour. Each metric is compared with forecast, last week, and last year. Forecast Health shows whether each metric is tracking inside its forecast range, a Heat Map highlights busy days and hours, and a weather widget shows the store’s local forecast. Each user can arrange and resize widgets in their own saved layout.
Team Management
Employee profiles in Kronto's Team Management module organize documents into Company, Legal, Skills Related, and Performance folders. Documents can have expiration dates, and employees can acknowledge them through their phones. The Metrics tab displays employee tenure, quarterly attendance, the percentage of shifts started within five minutes of the scheduled time, and consecutive on-time arrivals.New hires receive an email with a sign-in code, and Kronto sends reminders until they finish signing up. Managers can also mark someone unschedulable from a chosen date without removing them from payroll.
