uAttend Use Cases

Here’s a deeper look into the specific circumstances that make uAttend a strong contender for your HR team:

HR Teams Tracking Hourly Staff Across Multiple Locations

HR and ops managers use the uAttend facial recognition or biometric fingerprint clocks to track employee attendance remotely at all work sites. All individual punches from different locations sync to a single, centralized cloud database, preventing managers from having to manually chase people and get attendance numbers at their shop locations. This is especially great for retailers, chains of fast-food restaurants, and multiple-site service businesses.

Compliance Teams Reducing Buddy Punching And Time Theft

uAttend can be used by HR departments to have the employees log in via the facial recognition clocks or biometric finger scanners, thereby keeping tabs on who really arrived or left work. Since an employee clock will work when registered with their likeness or finger only, other staff cannot claim their clock time. So, one person punching into work for another will cease to be possible at companies such as those found in warehouses or on construction sites for production, manufacturing floors.

People Managers Approving Time Cards And Time Off Remotely

Team leaders or supervisors can use uAttend to access workers' attendance information anytime from their handheld device and check who’s actually on site. They can also use it to approve or deny time off, track timesheets, and take time offs right on a smart phone or tablet. Reviewers particularly highlight how the platform keeps attendance data in sync and reduces the occurrences of discrepancy.

Field Operations Teams Restricting Mobile Punches To Job Sites

Field ops, management or site supervisors can benefit from uAttend features to control exactly where all employees can use the geofencing ability. This means employee can only mark their attendance from an authorized and defined geo-restricted location, avoiding off-location, outside time or early clock in. This makes it suitable for teams that operate on site such as commercial services like lawn upkeep, landscaping, and construction work.

Is uAttend Right For You?

If you're looking for an advanced time tracking platform without additional HR functionality, uAttend is worth considering. It is easy to set up and offers a simple way to track employee hours, manage attendance, and keep payroll records accurate, with the highlight being free lifetime support.

missing basic payroll options

Pros

It is budget friendly and there are a handful of features our organization does appreciate.

Cons

However it lacks several basic functions we expected. For our salaried employees we should be able to copy the previous week's entries but that simple option isn't available. There should also be a way to automatically add lunch breaks for salaried staff and it doesn't offer that either. Overall I prefer DayForce.

fast onboarding and quick time tracking

Pros

Getting new hires set up is pretty easy and they can start clocking in on their timecards right away. I'm also able to go through everything by pay period without any trouble. Other than that the system runs at a good pace so there really haven't been any significant problems.

Cons

Something that's inconvenient is downloading a single employee's timecard because it comes through as an HTML file. I'd much rather have the option to download it directly as a PDF but since that's not available I have to hit Print every time and manually save it as a PDF instead.

frustrating updates and payroll issues

Pros

Honestly I'm not happy with it and the customer support hasn't been very good either. The people answering the phone tend to argue about how employees should be paid instead of actually helping.

Cons

Since the latest update it has become harder to use. On top of that it tracks time to the hundredth of an hour while our payroll system uses tenths of an hour. When I switch it to tenths, it rounds the time backward which ends up showing employees getting paid before they even enter the building. Because of that I have to spend time every single week manually adjusting the hours just to make the system workable.
