Study Island Features

The teacher dashboard, known as Sensei, offers teachers a clear overview of student performance. It provides real-time insights through charts and graphs, helping educators quickly identify areas where students may require additional support. By utilizing this data, teachers can personalize their lessons and provide targeted support to enhance student outcomes.

See How It Works

Group sessions allow teachers to host live, interactive practice sessions where students can engage with each other and the teacher in real-time. It even makes it easy for teachers to offer instant feedback on students’ responses, helping them understand key concepts. This feature improves collaboration among students.

With built tests, teachers can easily create customized quizzes and tests based on the specific standards they want to assess. These tests are drawn from a wide pool of questions that are aligned with state and national standards. Teachers can track student progress over time and use the test results to adjust instruction as needed.

District- and building-level reporting provides administrators with a comprehensive view of how students are performing across an entire district or school. The reports include data on individual students' progress, as well as overall performance trends. This helps make data-driven decisions, allowing leaders to identify areas of strength and areas that need further focus.

See How It Works

The NWEA MAP link integrates Study Island with MAP test results to create personalized learning pathways for students. This feature uses MAP scores to spot areas of strength and weakness, helping teachers change their methods of instruction to meet each student’s needs. It ensures that learning is targeted and relevant.

can someone explain what this is?

Pros

Honestly it is the worst. You pick the right answer and it tells you it is wrong. It is just ridiculous and it is laughable that schools actually pay for this. If you think it is good, I do not get it. It is useless as I might prefer just sitting there and staring at a wall all day rather than using it.

Cons

As I mentioned before, even if you pick the right answer it says you are wrong and the crab is just too much. My school spends like $5000 a month on this and that's just sad.

Perfect for students and teachers

Pros

I really enjoy how easy it is to assign materials for my students. Also it lets me focus on areas they need extra support with and I have seen noticeable improvements in their overall skills.

Cons

One thing I really dislike is that sometimes I have to manually adjust student accounts. Also there is an issue with Clever integration that has forced some students to log in through an alternate method.

Quite helpful for learning

Pros

Study Island is a powerful tool for creating your own mini lessons and quizzes. While you can use it right away, let me tell you that it works even better when you customize it to match your specific curriculum and student needs.

Cons

The question bank is very limited for each standard which makes it tough if my student needs extra practice. Eventually they will just keep seeing the same questions and that is not helpful.
