What is PrognoCIS EMR?

Overview

PrognoCIS Electronic Health Records is a HIPAA compliant clinical and business productivity software designed to help healthcare providers and specialists with either small, large or multi-specialty practices. The platform provides templates that help streamline customizable workflows in relation to healthcare practice management, revenue cycle tracking, medical billing services, telemedicine, claims administration, and accounting.

What is PrognoCIS EMR Best For?

PrognoCIS EMR has earned a reputation for its ability to provide fast, flexible, and ease of use individual provider workflow. As a cloud-based ICD-10, HIPAA-compliant EMR solution, PrognoCIS contains a diverse suite of functions beneficial to healthcare professionals.

Developed in 2001 by Bizmatics, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based healthcare solutions company, PrognoCIS is known for its user-friendly features widely-used by ambulatory medical clinics in smaller practices and large group clinics servicing many providers in multi-specialty clinics.

Like other EMR software, PrognoCIS has its own patient portal, which assists organizations with sharing lab results, prescriptions, and statements with clients and sending patients reminders for upcoming appointments.

PrognoCIS EMR Cost

PrognoCIS EMR pricing starts at $250 per month for each healthcare provider. But depending on the inclusion of plugins, integrated software, and the level of practice purchasing the PrognoCIS program, this plan may be subject to further changes. There is currently no free trial or version of the software available.

How does PrognoCIS EMR Work?

You can get started with PrognoCIS EMR by creating an account and logging in to the platform’s main interface system, which can only be accessed by authorized users or patients.

PrognoCIS uses ICD-10 codes which are accessible across multiple devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile phones, and tablets. Both web-based, client, or server versions are available. Once logged in, you will be able to access the platform’s features specific to your background as a medical professional or patient.

Who is PrognoCIS EMR For?

As a fully-integrated, specialty-specific EHR software, PrognoCIS EMR can be used in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and private practices.

It is typically used by healthcare providers, such as doctors, nurses, and other medical staff, to document and track patient care, record vital signs and test results, prescribe medications, and perform other clinical tasks.

PrognoCIS EMR is intended to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery by providing a centralized and easily accessible source of patient information, as well as tools for managing and analyzing data.

How is PrognoCIS EMR different from other software?

Here are some factors that differentiate PrognoCIS EMR from other software:

  • Customizable templates and workflows: PrognoCIS EMR allows users to customize their dashboard and create workflows for each individual staff member with visit/procedure Template library.
  • Seamless data migration: Because it is cloud-based, users will be able to migrate data from their current EHR to PrognoCIS with no trouble.
  • Cost-effective: PrognoCIS is an affordable EHR software suitable for individual practices that are looking to scale up.

Is PrognoCIS EMR Right for You?

PrognoCIS EMR remains a widely-used electronic medical record software for general medical practices and ambulatory specialty medical care settings, allowing them to meet the needs of both their practice and patients.

Many users have recommended the software for its customer support training and versatile features like revenue cycle management and medical billing. In addition, many have found the software’s portable application EMR to be beneficial in utilizing web EMR for electronic remedies and diagramming.

However, some have raised issues with the overall navigation of the software, noting that it could be more intuitive as they were unable to view different items at the same time.

Pros

I've been using this "free" EMR as a bonus with PrognoCIS RCM since 2013, and it has done a pretty great job. It covers the basics well, comes with a patient portal and is bundled right along with PrognoCIS billing, which makes things convenient. And whenever there is a tech issue, I have noticed they really focus on getting everything back up quickly, so the downtime has always been under a day. Customer service is outsourced but super enthusiastic and helpful, which makes a big difference when I need support.

Cons

It feels to me that the programming was developed over time, which has led to some annoying redundancies, inconsistencies and occasional glitches. As medicine has gotten more complex, features that used to be included are now considered add-ons, which ends up increasing the cost.

Pros

Honestly, there's nothing I really liked about it. We basically had to create all our own templates for everything like billing and documentation.

Cons

Client service is poor. Honestly, the worst. They bill for services they didn't provide and resist any attempt to help resolve the issues we are facing.
