“met accessibility needs with nonprofit discount”
Pros
Out of all the project management tools we tested, this was the only one that truly met our accessibility needs for team members with visual impairments. The company has shown a high level of social responsibility and unlike others that brushed off our concerns, Asana really stepped up. We reported a minor issue with the labeling of a button and it was handled quickly and given real priority. On top of that, they also provide our nonprofit with a very generous discount.
Cons
Honestly I'm happy with it overall and there's very little to complain about. The only minor downside I can think of is that AI features are sold as a separate add-on which feels a little old-fashioned.

“Solid ux with reasonable pricing”
Pros
Its tools are useful and capable especially when it comes to handling certain specific tasks. Compared with similar options, the pricing is also pretty reasonable and the tiered plans are structured in an effective way.
Cons
That said some of Asana's features don't feel like they go far enough which makes it better suited to a particular kind of organization or company size. It performs very well for small to mid-sized businesses but for larger enterprises it may not be the best fit overall.

“Helpful timeline and gantt”
Pros
Keeping timelines organized was one of the best parts. The time management tools were especially helpful and the digital Gantt chart was very simple to use. It helped me keep bigger projects, like tradeshows, moving on schedule whether we had plenty of lead time or barely any at all.
Cons
One issue I ran into was with automation functions overlapping pretty often. There were times when the automations fired in the wrong order and that created some problems. I'm still not completely sure whether it was a product issue or something I set up incorrectly since it very well could have been user error on my end.

“desktop app templates are great”
Pros
Most days I just keep the desktop app open while I'm digging through invoices trying to find my notebook. This version includes some AI features but I still rely mostly on the templates because they save me from having to think too much about setup. Support was actually really helpful when I ran into problems which honestly surprised me. More than anything, I'm glad the deadlines are displayed clearly enough for the whole team to notice them.
Cons
On mobile, the app gets painfully slow when attachments are large and it's basically unusable if you need to look at completed and active tasks at the same time because of how the filters work. I've also had the planning tool create duplicate tasks whenever I try to enter hours manually which makes the whole list feel messy and forces me to go back and clean everything up.

“replaced scattered spreadsheets with central tracking”
Pros
Keeping several projects and workflows organized felt much more manageable with Asana. It replaced the scattered spreadsheets and tracking documents we were relying on before and gave our team one central place to manage project work and stay aligned.
Cons
Getting everyone fully comfortable with it took some time especially for team members who were newer to the platform. Setting up automations and dialing in the more advanced features also required a fairly big time investment.

“Best software”
Pros
Having tasks, deadlines and ownership clearly laid out makes it much easier to stay on top of client progress and keep anything from slipping through the cracks.
Cons
Some of the more advanced features take more effort to set up than expected and support communication can feel a bit slow when it comes to workflow-related questions.

“most customizable and simple tool”
Pros
Right away, Asana felt like the most customizable yet simple task management tool I've used. The workflows were logical and I never had to spend time figuring out some obscure custom feature. Everything just made sense and clicked naturally.
Cons
Compared with the other tools out there, I really don't have any complaints from an end-user perspective. I can't speak to pricing or the feature set from an adoption or purchasing standpoint though.

“assigning tasks and leaving feedback is simple”
Pros
Assigning tasks to teammates and leaving feedback is very simple so everyone can see updates right away. It's also simple to adjust due dates and reassign responsibility when plans change.
Cons
The number of notifications can be overwhelming and can flood my inbox which makes it difficult to tell which ones actually matter.

“Visible progress”
Pros
Keeping projects organized and visible in Asana is very simple. It makes it much easier to track progress and as long as statuses are kept up to date, there's almost no need to check in with direct reports just to ask where something stands.
Cons
It would be even more useful with an API feed or some stronger integration between systems. Although the platform is user-friendly, it still has a few limitations and quirks that can get in the way.

“customizable with cross-department collaboration”
Pros
One thing that really works well with Asana is how customizable it is. Being able to tag tasks makes it much easier to organize work at a broader level and it also does a strong job of supporting collaboration across different departments.
Cons
At times, end users can still miss tasks or tags which can be frustrating. The timeline interface is also a bit confusing and because the platform can get pretty complex, there is definitely a learning curve for anyone who is not very tech-savvy. That said it can be simplified once you get used to it.

“clean colorful interface with unicorn animation!!”
Pros
Right away, the interface feels clean, colorful and pleasant to work in. Putting together lists of data-cleaning steps is simple and the little unicorn animation that appears when I complete a task genuinely makes the experience more enjoyable.
Cons
A lot of useful features, like the timeline view, are locked behind the paid version. The email notifications can also get excessive at times and it is not the best option for handling complex technical documentation or tracking code.

“solid task tracking concept”
Pros
The task-tracking concept behind Asana is really solid but it feels like it only works properly if your team is fully committed to using the platform for everything.
Cons
When we used Asana, it honestly was not that useful for our setup. Since our team is so small, everyone was involved in everything and no matter how we adjusted the notification settings, it still felt overwhelming.

“automation cuts manual tasks with excellent reporting”
Pros
One thing that really works well in Asana is the automation which helps build efficient workflows and cuts down on manual tasks that usually take too much time and can easily lead to mistakes. The dashboard also feels very simple and the reporting tools are excellent for monitoring workloads and identifying bottlenecks as they happen in real time.
Cons
The pricing does feel a little expensive for smaller organizations when compared with some alternatives although that doesn't take away from how simple and capable the platform is.

“improved collaboration and reduced meetings”
Pros
Having everyone in one interactive space made collaboration much better since the whole team could join in and see what was happening. It helped reduce meeting time and cut back on the same discussions being repeated over and over. Assigning tasks to team members was simple and it also made it easier to redirect people whenever questions came up.
Cons
visual layout felt a little buggy at times which could make things confusing especially if you were the one managing it. That became even more noticeable when goals and deadlines started overlapping.

“good for deliverables”
Pros
Asana has been a really solid project management tool for keeping track of stages, processes and deliverables. The automated emails, reminders and check-ins are especially helpful for making sure things get completed and everyone stays informed.
Cons
The interface feels less powerful and customizable compared with newer platforms like Airtable. It leans more on traditional project management templates and doesn't offer the same level of flexibility that Airtable does.

Pros
The organization tools are really well done and the customization options make it simple to set things up around the way your team works. It feels simple overall and doesn't take much effort to get comfortable using it.

“team organization much easier with reminders”
Pros
Keeping both my work and my team organized is much easier with Asana. The features are immediately useful and the many automated reminders help me stay on top of things which makes my day feel a lot less hectic and disorganized.
Cons
Overall Asana works really well for what I need. One thing that would make it even better is having some visibility into what the wider organization is working on beyond just my team even if it's limited so I can understand how my work and progress line up with the broader direction of the company.

“first platform used evolved into project management”
Pros
Asana was the first project management platform I ever used so it still holds a special place in my toolkit. Back then, it felt more like a task manager but over time the platform has evolved quite a bit into a broader project management solution with strong options for team and organizational communication.
Cons
One thing I do miss is Asana's personal projects space being discontinued even if I understand why they moved away from it. It really shows the ongoing challenge of trying to use workflow management software for personal life, while also making it clear that Asana is focused more on teams and communication.
