I preferred the 'old' way of viewing the lists of people clocked in and out on each side of the screen as well as the double-click method of signing in.

I loved everything about this software, the ease of use, its simplicity and straightforwardness. No need for time cards. You simply print out the time sheets, have everyone sign them and you are done. It is a wonderful and incredibly easy to use software. I love it. Thank you so much Virtual Timeclock. It is a fantastic product.

“Easiest Timeclock that runs itself

Pros

This is the simplest timeclock you will use for your employees. The feature I admire the most is that you set it up once and then forget about it. Employees can clock themselves in and out and it calculates overtime, sick leave, PTO, providing simple and easy to read reports. You can also set anniversary dates. If employees try to clock in too early for a shift or after lunch, it alerts them that it is too early. Which prevents them from clocking in until their start time.

Cons

Its said to integrate with Surepayroll but I haven't done that yet. So there might be a step that makes it difficult to use or set up.

I like the feature that how simple it is for staff to clock in and out.

We recently upgraded to the network version but I am frustrated that we can't access the program when remoting into our work computer. it gives us an error message. The weird part is that we can access other programs that are only accessible while remoting in. This upgrade hasn't been helpful during the COVID-induced work from home situation and we have to manually track hours.

While it offers various timecard export templates, there is no support for our HR Payroll system or the option to customize an export according to their support.

Pros

The ease of use is exceptional and it allows for easy tracking of late comings and overtime, if needed. Making corrections is also a simple process. Staff can accurately track their tasks as adding them to the list is straightforward. I particularly love the customizable reports, which ensure quick and accurate access to information in the desired format.

Cons

Being non-cloud based, I can't access it while working remotely unless I have access to the computer it is installed on.

One of the key factors that led us to choose this timeclock software was its integration with our accounting software. It is convenient for our outdoor employees who are not accustomed to using computers.

I am aware that weare not utilizing all the features to their full potential. Since we keep things pretty basic, nothing has been frustrating or complex.

Pros

After using the old version (I can't even remember which one) for many years, my old iMac G4 finally gave out and I had no choice but to upgrade to the latest version. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It is easy to use and implement, with a cleaner interface and fantastic additional reports. It still retains some of the old features, which keeps it somewhat familiar. I particularly like that if an employee accidentally clocks out the next morning (because they forgot to clock out the previous day), the system flags it as a potential error and allows for correction.

Cons

The software doesn't have many weak points for my specific requirements.

As an administrator I can easily print reports and edit time entries when I log in. When it is time to process weekly payroll I simply log in and review all the hourly entries.

Initially selecting reports to print was somewhat challenging but after gaining some experience, it became routine.

Once you have it set up and use it regularly, it becomes easy to use.

For manual entries (which is all I do), it doesn't automatically advance the time per entry. Let me explain it with an example. If I enter 8 am to 8:30 am for travel, the clock should advance to 8:30 am for the next entrys start time. This would be extremely helpful, especially when interrupted by a phone call. Regarding reports, lets say I need to see who and how many hours each person worked during a specific timeframe in 2019. Only the active employees show up on the report. If I am generating a report from the past, it should display the correct employees and their hourly wage at that time but it doesn't. Its very irritating and I have to double-check everything to ensure the accuracy of the reports.

I was disappointed that the upgrade didn't include reversing the Used Hours and Carryover columns on the Accrued and Used Leave Hours report. It would make more sense for the formula to be: (Accrued Hrs + Carryover) - Used Hrs = Balance.
