New Horizon Software Use Cases

Based on our analysis of customer stories and New Horizon’s current capabilities, we identified several scenarios where the platform is a strong fit for manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and foodservice organizations managing complex supply chain operations:

Multi-site Businesses Replacing Disconnected Planning Systems

New Horizon works well for organizations trying to consolidate forecasting, procurement, and supply planning into a single platform. Customer stories show companies using the software to replace fragmented legacy systems and create more consistent planning processes across regions, suppliers, and distribution centers. This is particularly useful for businesses operating across multiple facilities or international teams that need better coordination and visibility.

Consumer Goods Companies Managing Large Product Catalogs

The platform is a good fit for companies handling broad and fast-changing product portfolios. Organizations can use New Horizon to improve forecast accuracy and automate planning decisions across thousands of SKUs, helping planners respond more effectively to fluctuating demand patterns and seasonal changes.

Mid-sized Organizations Seeking Faster Supply Chain Modernization

Mid-sized businesses that need modern planning capabilities without lengthy implementation cycles can also benefit from the software’s capabilities. Since New Horizon offers relatively fast deployments and quicker time-to-value compared to traditional supply chain planning systems, it is practical for teams with limited IT resources or lean planning departments.

High-volume Distribution Operations Managing Inbound Logistics

Organizations operating high-velocity distribution centers can use New Horizon to better coordinate inbound deliveries and receiving capacity. The platform has been used to smooth delivery schedules and reduce bottlenecks at distribution centers, while improving labor utilization in environments where fluctuating inbound volumes create operational strain.

Is New Horizon Software Right For You?

If your organization has outgrown manual supply chain planning processes and needs more effective coordination between forecasting, procurement, inventory, and production teams, New Horizon could be the right solution for you. As planning delays can quickly impact fulfillment and inventory performance, the software becomes particularly relevant for businesses managing volatile demand, large SKU volumes, or distribution-heavy operations. The platform also outlines GDPR-related privacy practices, which provide additional reassurance for organizations that handle customer or operational data within regulated environments or international business operations.

Excellent tool for supply/demand planning

Pros

New Horizon helped us resolve our forecasting challenges. We previously struggled with efficient forward planning and scenario analysis. It has also addressed our manual PO planning issues as we can now review suggested orders based on current demand, forecasted sales, SS targets and vendor minimums. This has significantly cut down the time spent issuing POs.

Cons

The system does not account for shelf life.

It really gave us the solution we needed

Pros

I really appreciate the tools maintenance feature. We deal with frequent transitions and changes with our customers and this provides a quick solution to link items together and prevent us from ordering something during certain periods. This eliminates the need to manually note it down and remember to remove it from an order. This has saved our team a considerable amount of time compared to our previous system.

Cons

Only issue I would mention is with ordering slow-moving items. The tool does an excellent job recommending orders for 98% of the items we work with but for the very slow-moving items, we often have to manually add them to the orders.

Easy and efficient

Pros

It is hosted on the cloud so there's no need to maintain a server or database. The tool's Excel like interface is popular with our users, who love how easily they can export to Excel. I also appreciate that everything can be managed from a single worksheet making the process much more streamlined.

Cons

The only downside is that it takes a little longer to open the worksheets. However as mentioned earlier, you can do everything from a single worksheet.
