What Is ChatGPT?
Developed by OpenAI, ChatGPT is a conversational AI software designed to create content, analyze information, generate images, and write code for its users. Since its launch, the platform has seen several major generations upgrades, including GPT-3, GPT-4, GPT-4o, reasoning models, and the GPT-5 series. These updates have improved its handling of more complex tasks and working with different types of content.
Users can ask ChatGPT to edit documents, presentations, spreadsheets, charts, PDFs, and other deliverables. For developers, ChatGPT includes Codex, it’s AI coding agent that can write, edit, test, and fix code. It handles complicated coding tasks across multiple files rather than only providing individual code snippets.
What Is ChatGPT Best For?
A highly praised feature of ChatGPT is ‘Deep Research’. It is used to conduct in-depth research to create detailed, cited reports for users that can be downloaded as a PDF or DOCX file. While prompting, users can add their trusted sources, approved URLs, and private files to better guide the research.
In addition to all this, there are options for defining, reviewing, and adjusting the research scope, plan, and sources. This makes it particularly useful for research in consulting, marketing, finance, investment, legal, life sciences, and biomedical fields.
How Much Does ChatGPT Cost?
ChatGPT pricing starts at $8/month and goes up to custom quotes for Enterprises. The six plans offered by the platform are:
- Free: $0/month
- Go: $8/month
- Plus: $20/month
- Pro: From $100/month
- Business: $25/user/month
- Enterprise: Custom pricing
The pricing for individual plans usually stays true to its sticker price. For business plans, however, pricing can come with several additional costs buyers should budget for:
- Enterprise Per-Seat Minimum: $60/user/month with a 150-seat minimum, roughly $108,000/year
- Implementation And Integration Services: $10,000–$50,000 one-time, for custom GPT development and API integrations
- IT Setup/Admin Time: 5–10 hours one-time for SSO configuration and SCIM provisioning (UI-only deployments)
- API Usage (separate from seat licenses): $5 input and $30 output/million tokens (GPT-5.5), billed on top of any seat costs if you use API access
Users find that ChatGPT’s cost makes sense when it saves hours of work. Professionals can use it for research, writing, coding, and analysis. That time adds up. For some teams, the subscription pays for itself through everyday use.
Disclaimer: The pricing is subject to change.

ChatGPT Use Cases
Based on ChatGPT’s functionality, we have identified key scenarios where it could be a good fit for professionals and business teams:
Operations Teams Preparing For Project Reviews Via Scattered Tools
Project reviews often require information from several places. ChatGPT can bring those details together. It can review project management data, planning documents, and recent team messages, then turn them into a clear summary. Teams can quickly see what is done, what is still pending, and what needs attention next. Each action can also be matched with an owner.
Engineering Teams Turning Bugs Into Tested Fixes
A reported bug or feature request does not necessarily end with a developer reading the ticket and writing code. The change also needs to be tested and prepared for review. Codex can inspect the relevant codebase, make the change, run tests, and prepare a pull request. For engineering teams, this provides a way to handle more of the process from the initial request to a review-ready change.
Finance Teams Preparing For Month-End Close
Finance teams spend a fair amount of time gathering information before they can start working through the month-end close. ChatGPT can pull together information from spreadsheets and other systems and use it for analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling. With ChatGPT Work, teams can also run risk-weighted scenarios and compare how different outcomes could affect their numbers in real-time.
Data Teams Explaining Business Changes Without Context
Data teams may spot important changes in business performance, but what is driving those changes? This question can stump them. ChatGPT Work can combine business data with customer relationship management (CRM) information and other relevant context to explain these changes. This leads the teams to identify where the problem is and turn their findings into a clearer action plan.
Is ChatGPT Right For You?
The platform stands as a good option for companies and individuals looking for a secure AI platform. It is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant and ISO 27001, 27017, 27018, and 27701 certified. On the security front, it offers role-based access controls (RBACs) and has data encryption both at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+).
It is designed to scale from individual use to organization-wide deployment. The teams at Cisco, Virgin Atlantic, Duolingo, and Zendesk reportedly use ChatGPT to handle their different projects and workflows while maintaining enterprise-grade security. Its ‘Business’ and ‘Enterprise’ plans provide centralized user management, usage analytics, integrations, and administrative controls. Enterprise also supports virtually unlimited messaging for eligible models.

ChatGPT Features
Image Generation
This feature generates original images from text prompts and lets users refine them through follow-up instructions. Its 'Image Generation' with 'Thinking' mode can understand complex requests before producing an image. Users can also go back-and-forth on concepts, styles, and visual elements in the same chat without starting a new prompt. This helps improve accuracy and detail in the images.
Workspace Agents
Workspace Agents from ChatGPT turn teams' internal knowledge, best practices, and repeatable processes into shared AI agents. Businesses can connect these agents to their business tools. Once connected, the agents can carry out tasks they are designed for across different systems. This allows teams to turn established processes into consistent, repeatable workflows that can run with less manual coordination.
File Uploads
Users can drop documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, and even code files straight into a ChatGPT conversation. The platform reads the file, pulls out relevant information, and answers questions using it as context. It can also use the file for whatever the user asks next. This includes summarizing, comparing two documents, analyzing a spreadsheet, applying a framework from one file to another, and more.
Voice With Video
Voice with video allows users to have a spoken conversation with ChatGPT while sharing their camera view. The platform responds to what the user is showing it. It is commonly used when a user needs to understand, troubleshoot, and work through a task. The feature is available on mobile for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu users.
Memory And Personalization
The platform can use saved memories from recent conversations to provide more personalized responses. The settings allow users to manage what ChatGPT remembers. Other than that, users can also delete individual memories, clear all saved memories, or turn memory off completely. This prevents the need to offer context repeatedly to get useful results.
Custom GPTs
Custom GPTs are configured versions of ChatGPT for specific tasks. For example, a marketing team could create a GPT with its brand guidelines, product information, and preferred writing style. Then, the custom GPT will always draft content that follows those requirements. Teams and individuals can create specialized AI assistants for particular workflows, use cases, or areas of expertise.
Data Analysis
ChatGPT can work with structured data to perform calculations, identify patterns, and answer questions about the information. It can also generate tables and charts to present findings in a clearer format. Users can upload common formats such as XLS, XLSX, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, and TXT files and provide instructions for the analysis they need.

“Go-to tool..hihi”
Pros
I have been using It every single day since it first came out. From college to work, it's been my go-to AI tool. Even for small things like email management or writing short emails, it's a lifesaver. I talk to it like it's a real person and the way it answers feels like I am chatting with a professional. Definitely a solid 10/10 tool for me.
Cons
what I dislike the most is the privacy concerns. When you talk to AI models as if they are human (which they're definitely not), it makes you wonder about your privacy especially with how things could go in the future or even now.

“Creative and supportive but GPT-5.2 disappoints”
Pros
It has such a warm, knowledgeable and supportive tone (I am talking about GPT-4o here). It really helps me stay creative and boosts the flow of ideas. I love the cooperative and empathetic vibe it gives off.
Cons
I was really disappointed when GPT-4o was discontinued (as of 2/13/26). Just two months ago, they said there were "no plans" to get rid of it. then, after months of being redirected to GPT-5.2, it turned out this version was not great for creative tasks. They admitted during a Town Hall that they "messed up" on the creative side but still pushed it on us as the only option.
