Key Takeaways

Denticon (from Planet DDS) is a practice management system that provides centralized analytics and clinical documentation. While users note that some notes - and reports - lack specificity, overall, the tool is reliable for charting, as well as scheduling and group-wide visibility. Recent updates include: four DentalOS AI Agents that manage the patient outreach alongside call scheduling.

Our Verdict

Denticon is an ideal option for DSOs that are running five or more locations and want charting and reporting together in one platform. While the basic pricing is quite fair for everything included, users should also ask specifically what counts as an add-on before signing because that's when the total tends to go up. For multi-location teams that value real-time group-wide visibility and standardized operations, we recommend it.

Denticon Features

Revenue Cycle Management

RCM manages insurer eligibility checks, batch claim submission, automatic 835 posting, and payment processing. Rather than extracting data from nine different systems, AR, payment trends, and collections appear on a single dashboard across all locations.

AutoEligibility

This is RCM's recently released feature that verifies eligibility automatically in real time. It retrieves the patient's coverage information straight into the Denticon patient record, including active status, benefits, deductibles, co-pays, and remaining maximums. This saves teams hours that they would otherwise have to spend manually verifying eligibility.

AI Voice Charting

Clinicians don't have to type anything from memory. With the help of AI Voice Perio and AI Voice Restorative Charting, documentation is recorded while the provider talks through the exam, so nothing gets typed up afterward from memory. Both are newly released features. What providers get is records that read the same no matter which provider charted them.

DentalOS AI Agents

Four agents operate in Denticon now, and all of them are doing outbound phone work that used to fall on front desk staff. Confirmation Agent manages all the appointments via call, all while handling the task of rescheduling. On the other hand, the Recall Agent books people into available slots while working down the overdue list. Anyone who cancels is rebooked by the Cancellation Rescheduling Agent. Lastly, Missed Rescheduling Agent also does the same (i.e., calls patients to book appointments) to prevent any no-shows

Clinical Imaging And Workflow

Patient chart also hosts images and x-rays. Apteryx XVWeb runs imaging in the cloud, so it can be accessed whenever someone opens the chart, no matter the location where the image was taken. AI Assist further examines that imaging to figure out if any possible treatments need further investigation. Also, practices that combine orthodontics with general dentistry also receive an orthodontic module.

Awful, Awful Customer Support

Pros

none. the lack of customer support out weighs the pros because you can't even use the software efficiently without having the support team fix your fee schedule, update your business name and email in the contract,

Cons

ZERO customer support. the number they have goes to their answering service which creates a support ticket then their support ticket rep, Juan Colombo, tells you he will have the team reach out....and they never do! We have been trying to resolve multiple issues for the last two months. Stay away from this awful software company!

Pros

It's really easy to use, which makes my workflow smoother.

Cons

X-rays don't come out as clear as they should, and the software goes down way too often.

Great value!

Pros

This product is fantastic for practice owners managing multiple locations! It offers excellent value, is smooth to navigate, and continually improves.

Cons

In my opinion, the user interface and user experience seem somewhat outdated and are missing several crucial administrative features that could greatly enhance functionality and overall ease of use.
