What is EZDERM Software?

Overview

EZDERM is a cloud-based EHR and practice management software designed specifically for specialist dermatology practices/settings. It provides advanced scheduling, automated eligibility, billing encounters, claim management, ERA, and other features that make it a complete practice management system. The system is mobile-friendly and accessible on any device with an internet connection.

Additionally, EZDERM has a free companion app available on the App Store.

What is EZDERM Software Best For?

As mentioned, the software is designed for comprehensive implementation in dermatology (skin-based medicine) practices. It offers the full slate of EHR functionality found in competitor systems, but with an interface that has been narrowly customized for use by medical professionals involved in the nitty of patient dermatological care.

EZDERM’s comprehensive, in-built, library of skin-related disorder specs, diagnostic information, and treatment options, further, serve as an invaluable resource for clinicians as they engage with their patients, enabling a more robust provision of timely care.

EZDERM Software Pricing

The pricing structure of EZDERM varies depending on the type of license purchased. For example, there are one-time fees associated with certain plan subscriptions, while other offers may require ongoing fees.

Additionally, users may be required to reimburse the cost of certain services or products featured under the vendor’s comprehensive products umbrella – which includes distinctly priced tiers for the brand’s EHR, Practice Management System, Patient Portal, Check-In App, and Revenue Cycle Management provisions.

EZDERM Software Demo & Trial Offer

Unfortunately, EZDERM does not offer a free trial version of its software.

On an important note, however, the vendor does provide online and business-hours support for any questions or issues you may have while using the software.

How does EZDERM work?

EZDERM operates as a cloud-based, mobile EHR system integrated with a host of other operations vital for dermatology practices.

Here are some typical, initial, steps that need to be followed when first engaging with the software subscription:

STEP 1: Setting Up Your Account
The first step in getting started with EZDERM is setting up your account. You can do this by visiting the vendor’s official website. Once created, you can log in and begin exploring the various features that EZDERM has to offer.

STEP 2: Exploring the Features Once you have logged into your account, you can start experimenting with the various features that EZDERM offers. One of the most useful is the 3D Body Maps function which allows doctors to document patient visits visually using over 3,000 anatomical images. Other useful features include automated eligibility checks, billing encounters, and claim management tools.

STEP 3: Training Resources
The vendor provides several training resources for users who are new to their software subscription. Their website is updated regularly with new content and tutorials that can help subscribers learn more about how to use their software effectively. Additionally, there is an online learning platform called EZSchool which provides useful videos and other resources for dermatology affiliates who are looking for more in-depth training on how to best utilize/implement their subscriptions.

Who is EZDERM Software for?

EZDERM is ideal for all kinds of dermatology field practitioners, including:

  • Registered (Skin) Physicians>
  • Nurses
  • Specialist Dermatologists/Skin Surgeons
  • Aesthetic Physicians
  • Cosmetologists
  • Cosmetic Surgeons

Since the software comes loaded with the full slate of standard EHR functionality, it can – technically – be used in pretty much every medical setting.

How is EZDERM different from other EHRs?

EZDERM, as has been established here, is specialized for operation in basic-to-advanced dermatology settings; a primary facet of its design orientations that makes it different from more general-use EHR and other medical software.

Additionally, the system provides advanced scheduling capabilities, automated eligibility checks, billing encounters, claim management, and ERA integration, along with a standalone app; subscription features that only a minority of medical software applications – predominantly those that are considered ‘top-tier’ – tend to offer.

Is EZDERM right for you?

EZDERM is probably a good EHR software choice for any practice that operates with a dermatological bent. If you’re a skin doctor or field affiliate looking to significantly upgrade your daily work processing, consider signing up for a subscription – the recommendation comes backed by several user accounts as well as our own software engagements.

Ultimately, the best way to decide if the subscription is right for your practice is to schedule a demo.

Alternatively, you could reach out to our friendly customer service team via the helpline number to learn exactly how EZDERM could work for your facility.

As practicing aesthetic physicians doing the full round of topical procedures, EZDERM has been a daily workflow lifesaver; agree with the reviews here.

Cons

Outside of derma, it’s not special in any way. So, if you’re dealing in any other specialty, look elsewhere.

Pros

As a skin-care specialist and aesthetic physician, I tried pretty much every small-practice-suited EHR for my clinic; most were either too unjustifiably expensive or didn’t fit with our dermatology treatment regimens. One of EZDERM’s sales reps – also an MD – contacted us to introduce the software. We decided to give it a try. Haven’t looked back since; this is a keeper!

Cons

GPs can have a hard time with the interface; there aren’t many customization options available for general medicine.

Pros

The system is ever evolving with updates and upgrades. Customer support is available during business hours via phone or email. Their facebook page gives frequent updates and customer support reps promptly address concerns on the page (even off hours). There doesnt seem to be a high staff turnover, its refreshing to speak to the same support reps when you call. The website is updated with the newest content and tutorials. EZSchool is useful for training new employees and learning new/ old tricks.

Cons

Some functionality is limited to either ipad or desktop, the only way to avoid this is by purchasing Apple iMacs (this would be incredibly costly for outfitting a whole office). The majority of updates involve the EMR; the billing and PM platforms are often neglected. The training for clinical staff is well designed and executed. The training for billing and admin was not very thorough and disorganized.
